We hired Isaac Baker to finish our basement. The project had a few challenges that could affect the design. It was fairly extensive with a great room, one bedroom, a 3/4 bath, and a work room that had to be well lighted. Like with any project, there were minor problems. This is to be expected. What made the project enjoyable was how Isaac handled the problems. He was always willing to listen to our concerns and to come up with solutions that fit our needs. His pricing was fair, with no surprises. He always returned calls and communicated with us on how things were going. We have recommended Baker Design and Construction to a number of people and will give him a call on any future projects we have in the future.

Baker Design and Construction finished a large 2-bdrm, bath, living, dining room basement for us. A family member was moving in on short notice. Isaac drew up plans, submitted them to the City for approval, found liscensed sub-contractors, fit us into his schedule, and finished quickly. He had a reasonable bid compared to some other contractors. He was very flexible, allowing us to buy specific items from varied stores such as the bathroom vanity, lights, closet organizors, etc.. Some contractors we got bids from wanted us to only shop at their preferred store with limited choices and high prices. Isaac's bid was uncomplicated. This initially worried us. We have been stung in the past by some contractors because we did not have small details in lengthy, specific contracts and were nickle and dimed for common sense things that should have been included in the project. Isaac stuck to his bid and did not charge extra for small changes and some extra work. I think a handshake would have sufficed. He is one of the most honest, straightforward people that we have met. His workmen were all very respectful and considerate. We are very happy with the finished project. We have lived from coast to coast and flipped houses for 40 years and worked with scores of contractors and sub-contractors. He and his team are outstanding honorable, hardworking people who went out of their way to help and please us. Great group.
