Built Better Construction is an emerging family business located in Dutchess County, NY. Patrick McHugh, member and founder of Built Better, is a man specialized in a wide array of skill sets in the construction field, including and not limited to general contracting, project management, design, estimation, carpentry and framing, and procurement and correspondence of high-quality subcontractors, should your job require. Patrick holds nearly 20 years of experience in renovation and new construction for commercial spaces and custom residential homes. Our mission at Built Better Construction is in our name. We believe in providing our client with “better” homes “built” using the best materials and the best building processes. We believe great work starts with integrity and transparency, and we prioritize the client’s vision and expectations at each step of the process. Built Better Construction current projects reside in Westchester, Dutchess, Ulster and Greene counties. We hired BBC to redo our deck which is approximately 50' X 15' with Trek's decking. Patrick and the crew were professional, punctual, courteous and have a fantastic work ethic. The deck is beautiful with added special designs. We would highly recommend them.

I cannot recommend Built Better Construction enough. Patrick did a big job for us which involved removing multiple interior walls, installing a supporting beam and a kitchen remodel. The standard of craftsmanship was superb, and Patrick delivered the whole project ahead of the tight time frame we were working with so we could move in with our young family.

I had Built Better Construction build a 16’ X 16” deck and install a patio door on the back of my house. The job was completed as contracted with no issues. The quality of Patrick’s workmanship is amazing and he is a pleasure to work with. He is very meticulous with his work and is very attentive to every last detail. Work area was kept neat and organized and cleanup was done at the end of each work day. The deck came out much better than anticipated and the quality of the workmanship is outstanding. I now have a beautiful and very solid new deck which I will enjoy for many years and could not be happier with the final product. Without any hesitation, I highly recommend Built Better Construction.

Patrick came recommended from friends who’d just gone through a similar renovation - changing flooring, updating a 90s kitchen and really modernising the living space of a newly purchased home. We’re delighted with the outcome - and even more - we were so grateful for the time Patrick took to deal with A LOT of questions as we figured out how to modernise this rustic old Catskills cabin, helped us understand what is and isn’t possible (within our budget) and ultimately made the new house our new home. Against rival quotes his pricing was competitive, he was communicative throughout the building work, and for people new to home renovation like ourselves, his willingness to chat through ideas and “consult” was such a big help and we’re very happy with the outcome.

Patrick is a talented carpenter that can bring ideas to life. He took the time ad care to help restore my 1890s home by bringing the staircase to life and adding a back and front porch. I am planning to use Patrick again. H s always on time on budget and no excuses

I highly recommend Better Built Construction. The owner is very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. My house is an older home. It was desperately in need of repair. My entire 1st floor was completely gutted. I told Patrick (owner) my vision and he made it a reality. The worked performed was done in a timely manner. Better Built is my go to guy for anything pertaining to house construction. I found his prices to be reasonable and he is very trustworthy.

Mr. McHugh helped me with redoing my kitchen a few years ago. Beforehand, I had very little knowledge of cost or labor, but he waled me through the process, and the kitchen was done in a tremendously timely manner. Patrick McHugh is a knowledgeable member in the professional field; he is competitive, communicative, and he sincerely works to provide the client with a high- quality end product.
