Built by Krueger

We worked with Built By Krueger for a major remodel in Louisville. It was a such a positive experience! They were great communicators, did a beautiful job and made what could have been a challenging process almost seamless. We can’t recommend them highly enough!

From the first meeting with Matt Krueger, the entire experience of building a custom home with these brothers was fantastic. Our PM, Warren Krueger and his assistant, Maria, were so helpful, attentive and flexible throughout the entire build. We met with them every Friday to manage to costs, review timelines/materials/selections/change orders if needed, etc.; and later in the process they happily met with us as many as three times a week. I have heard from several neighbors who are also building homes that this was not their experience. I was onsite nearly every day during the build, and if I did identify any issues they were highly receptive to hearing them and fixing them. Warren was open to spontaneous interactions on site and never made us feel rushed or unreasonable. There were no major issues identified during the process, however, due to Warren's keen eye, experience and attention to detail. Warren has become a good friend through this process and I have been so impressed with his integrity, knowledge and experience. To a person, Krueger's in-house team and stable of subcontractors were exceptional. Most had established a long term record of success with Krueger. I call out in particular Matt, Ronnie, Jason and Noah at Fox Valley Electrical- who worked hard in sometimes challenging conditions (30' up above concrete) to install many novel electrical features that differentiate this house from any other; Daniel at 40th Parallel Structural Engineering; the steel fabrication team; Brian Pherson Masonry, Air Mechanical (our HVAC contractor); our stucco contractor; Lago Rohloff (site supervisor); Nelson (lead carpenter) and Cody (warranty specialist); Arapahoe Roofing (this was our third roof with them- they are fabulous); Tom Prowell at Green Landscape Solutions... David and the other laborers who quietly and quickly worked to keep the jobsite clean and took care of whatever details were needed... even Sterling Bennink and his team at Flatirons Inc. Surveyors...many others too numerous to mention. All outstanding at their craft. Built By Krueger held their timeline through supply chain shortages, appropriately timed purchases to follow price trends (waited to purchase our lumber pack until needed as the prices were continuing to fall at that time); and worked tirelessly with our insurance claim adjuster to parse through the covered expenses and betterments allowing us to finish on time and within the budget we had set for the project. We are absolutely thrilled with the new home and would certainly recommend them to anyone interested in building a custom home. They weren't the lowest price contractor, but certainly delivered the highest quality on time and on budget. Five stars and highest possible recommendation given with gratitude for them!

Our experience with Krueger was amazing from the initial meetings to the final touches. Everything was thought of and done at the highest level. The construction team was great led by Nelson. They were on top of every detail, even the ones we didn't notice. I would have them do our next project no problem.

Built by Krueger crushed our multi-bathroom and entry way remodel in Blue Heron (Lafayette). We remodeled all 5 bathrooms (during COVID) and the work was fantastic. Shella B (our project manager) was excellent. Great communication and she was all over every detail. Matt K and Samuel walked us through the project budget and timeline and were right on the mark. 100% transparent billing. No complaints and we would highly, highly recommend the Built by Krueger team for any remodel project.

Good management, good communication, good work. We worked with Built by Krueger for what began as a garage addition and ended as a sizable renovation thanks to some ridiculous county requirements. The BBK team was on the ball with the county and straightforward with us on how various curveballs would affect our timelines. The project didn't go perfectly -- none ever does -- but BBK earned our trust by handling the ups and downs with integrity and grace. We're excited to be working with them again on another project, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who asks.

I am a woman who enjoys construction and design. I am not a stranger to construction and remodels. I’ve done a few of them including remodeling my own kitchen a few years ago. When it came time for a large 3 building, residential project I found myself looking for a new builder. I was not happy with the company who worked on my home remodel and after interviewing multiple contractors I landed on Built by Krueger. From the initial meetings with Matt and Brian to Sam with his estimates and attention to selections and detail to Nate on site, I am delighted to say I am thoroughly pleased. Sam is light hearted and professional. He sincerely listens to what you want and works to ensure you also get what you need. He’s patient and works to be thorough through the hand off to the onsite man when construction begins. We are lucky to have Nate as our on site guy. He’s easy to talk to and treats you as an equal. He is Just like Sam in that he works to help you achieve your vision and are happy with the results. I love the opportunity to walk the project and check in. I’ve even looked for additional projects just to keep them around. Nelson is amazing. While I am the designer on these projects Nelson has an added artistic eye. I would give him a general idea with drawings and Nelson would find ways to make it even more impressive. He’s unbelievable at matching stains with different woods and ensures things are not only built well but look beautiful as well. I’m very grateful for his knowledge and vision in every unique aspect I added. Much of our construction has occured throughout Covid. The contractors and teams Krueger has working for them are all cautious and respectful of the issues this brings. I felt safe while working with them and am grateful they were able to continue the projects without much of an issue. I Highly recommend this entire company. And that’s saying a lot. I've worked with several and wished I could find someone with follow through I could trust. This is a company I’ll work with anytime.

The Kruegers did an incredibly high quality and quick job on our house! All of the contractors were super friendly and fun to have around. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was done right and fixed up nicely. I have recomended them to many of our neighbors already. I would choose them again in a heart beat!

We selected By Kreuger after interviewing several builders in Boulder County. We chose Brian and Matt because of their experience, knowledge and quality. We toured one of the homes they were finishing up and were impressed. Brian made several suggestions (e.g., heightening the kitchen ceiling) as we got into the project which made big improvements to the final product. We thoroughly enjoyed working with them and recommend them without hesitation! Brian collaborated seemlessly with the design team (Allana Lavenue Interiors and Kay Fields Architect). We are SO happy with the house, incredible job guys!

Short version: We had a great experience with the Krueger team. They did a great job of staying in communication throughout the project and helped guide us through the whole process, answering our questions. We were very happy with the process and the results. We would highly recommend and certainly use them again. More thorough review: We looked at three contractors and got quotes before picking Built By Krueger. Their price point was in the middle of the three bids. Our first experience was with Matthew Krueger and Samuel. From our first walk through we were happy with how well they listened to our expectations and gave feedback to help us decide how best to finish our basement. We were very happy both with the initial design layout choices they gave us and the way they used our feedback to come up with a layout that made excellent use of the space and fit with the flow of the rest of our house. At every step of the process, from picking the layout to finishing details they checked on us and made sure we were happy with how things were going. They were very willing and able to accommodate reasonable changes as we went along. Our project manager was Shella. She was a rock star at communicating with us and being the primary contact at all times for us. She took care of all of the subcontractors (meetings at our house, any issues that came up, etc). When we did have problems come up, they were taken care of well and quickly. We had a few problem areas (our first choice for flooring was not being stocked, our faucet design we picked was retired, a few other small issues) and in each case they kept us up to speed and let us know our best options. Tammy helped us with all the interior design and did an amazing job of learning our taste and helping us find things we were happy with. My husband and I are not the fastest shoppers but when we went to pick out tile, flooring, etc, I don’t remember them offering us more than one or two pieces we weren’t happy with. We didn’t have to do a long slog through choices to find ones we liked: they had already narrowed it down to a few choices that fit really well with our tastes so it was just finding our favorite. During the actual construction process, Nelson and his team were amazing. The carpenters did excellent work (they built all of our shelving, including a gorgeous custom shelf that matched beams in the ceiling that they also custom built for us). We were very happy with the quality of the work they did and their professionalism. It is always a challenge to have people coming into your home, but they did a great job of respecting our space and making it as painless as possible. Since Shella kept us up to date throughout, we were not surprised by subs showing up unexpectedly or other issues like this. The subcontractors they used were all top notch as well, professional and very high quality work. We would definitely highly recommend Built By Krueger to anyone looking for a high quality, professional and trustworthy construction company.

Brian and Matt have developed a great company with knowledgeable employees and integrity. Their crew was top notch and very knowledgeable and were here everyday to start early and were very systematic with the scheduling of their third party contractors who were responsive to Krueger Const.. We started our project in August and asked if it could be completed by Thanksgiving, their reply was probably not but we can make it by Christmas. I liked the honesty up front, they were not about getting the job but about being truthful and realistic.The final outcome of the remodel exceeded our expectations. My wife and I have been through a couple of home building experiences and this was the easiest group to work with, I would not look elsewhere for our next project, they are top notch.

Built by Krueger helped us transform our old basement into a modern living room. While we did run into some project delays, the quality of work and customer care was all around fantastic and I can’t recommend them and their team enough.

Built by Krueger helped us build our dream en-suite over our garage. Their team was professional and knowledgeable and finished our project in a timely manner. We are very happy with the end result.

Two brothers with good complementary skill sets comprise this builder team. We did a total remodel (added 5 feet on the back, new roof, new everything) and they delivered exactly what we asked for. Their office person (Shella) is super supportive, helpful and conscientious! No matter what issue arose, Shella was very responsive to our needs. Brian, the main on site person, was very good at letting us know what we needed to know for options we were unfamiliar with. Scheduling was smooth and mostly could be tracked online. This was a large cost reno on an existing home of about 2000 ish sf. The cost of the reno was in the ballpark of $650 K but we have not seen the final billing nor the overall accounting. Only reason I did not rate this company 5 stars was their attention to detail to push the job over the finish line. That part has dragged on beyond our expectations, but not outside what I have experienced with other builders in other locales. Otherwise, a really good company to deal with!

Krueger did a great job with our build. I highly recommend them. We expanded our kitchen and living room into our garage as well as some exterior facade work. One of the biggest things that we appreciated was their honesty and transparency with the project especially in terms of respecting our budget. It's hard to find a builder in the Front Range who will do a job of this size. Krueger stands behind their work and will do what it takes to make it right.

We're happy that we chose Built by Krueger for a complete remodel of our 1980s home in the foothills above Boulder. We had rented our previous home in the area and when our rental term ran out we put all our stuff in storage and traveled the world for more than two months while the Krueger's where busy working on our new home. Several people told us we were crazy to do that but we felt we could trust the Krueger's and they did not disappoint us. We had a weekly project call where we reviewed pictures of the progress made and provided any necessary decisions. Initially we weren't sure about their pricing/billing model but we quickly learned to appreciate the transparency they provide, and the total cost came in reasonably close to the estimate that they had provided. We're also happy with the craftsmanship, especially by the carpenter crew under Nelson Calderon, the commitment to quality and the attention to detail. And if something goes wrong as it invariably will, they will make sure to get it right. If you want to hire builders you can trust to do a quality job, don't hesitate to go with them.

The folks at Kruger listen carefully to what their customers want and employ a talented crew to execute. I like to be hands-on in our home improvement projects, even when we hire them out and Krueger entertained all my ideas seriously and brought their own expertise to realize my vision. Thanks guys!

My husband and I could not be happier with the outcome of the remodel of our home. A friend of ours in the neighborhood recommended Built by Krueger and it was the best decision we could have made. We were nervous about our project because we were popping the top on our house and wanted to make sure it was done timely, correctly and professionally. Their entire team was great! They were all friendly, knowledgeable, listened to our concerns and worked very hard to make sure we got what we wanted. We will definitely use them again for any other projects we may have and highly recommend them to anyone else!

We worked with Krueger years ago for a basement finishing project. We were very happy with the design and finishing work then, so we reached out again when it was time to refresh our kitchen. Our dull, dark, monochromatic kitchen needed a face-lift and some functional corrections. We partnered with Krueger and hashed out several generations of possible renovation ideas. They were very patient with us as we considered keeping, but modifying existing cabinets, creating custom pieces, and then finally replacing the cabinets completely. Together we looked at two cabinet manufactures and considered countless schemes. I wanted to save money by doing the design selections myself. With Krueger’s help, we combed through each piece of the project step-by-step. From faucets to farmhouse sinks, to counter tops and grout color. The result was a simple, bright kitchen with both modern and farmhouse touches. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. The Krueger contractors were amazing – so very skilled and talented. They are truly artists. They listened to my ideas, delicately tossed some out, but made others come alive, especially with the custom touches. They were always on time, communicated up front, and we even shared a few laughs. If I’m going to have a crew in my home for 3-4 weeks, it’s important I feel comfortable with them, and I did. Each day they cleaned up the construction site as much as possible and kept me in the know with next steps. All the sub-contractors were very polite and focused and made things happen quickly. I also appreciated the detailed invoices and prompt response to questions at the Krueger office.

Major remodel of my mid-century modern Boulder ranch house. Added a garage and a second story. Preserved the mid-century modern feel in a fully upgraded, energy-efficient eco home. The Kruegers were great to work with, meticulous, collaborative, finished on time, transparent regarding costs and any other issues that came up during the project. I would use them again without hesitation.

I hired Built by Krueger to finish my basement. Matt and Brian provided me with an honest professional assessment. They came up with a clean design and executed as promised. Costs where well within the range of their estimate. Their team was highly professional and trustworthy. Office staff were courteous and easy to work with. Inspections went smoothly and there were absolutely no issues.. The site manager, Nelson, is a perfectionist and a great guy to work with. I will have them return to complete other projects in the future and highly recommend them.

The Krueger team did an amazing job on several upgrades/renovations in our home. We replaced french doors with a bay window, did a complete mudroom, finished a fitness room and did a complete walk-out basement and bar area. Outstanding team! We've completely renovated every inch of a 6500 sq ft house with Brian and his team after the architectural phase - replaced stucco, roof, windows, flooring, all plumbing. It was a huge project, bigger than even we realized, and we really appreciated the dedication and attention to detail the Kreuger team provided. We considered other builders, and are so thankful we chose Krueger Construction. Mostly it was their values and character that I appreciated most as building your forever house is incredibly detailed and requires working very closely with your builder. I have had the pleasure to work with Built by Krueger on two different major home improvement projects. We finished our basement many years ago and they did an amazing job. Using them again to remodel our kitchen was a no brainer. They just completed the work and they proved themselves again to be very professional, extremely flexible (we changed many things throughout the six week project), and they do really high quality work. They kept the project on schedule and within the budget that we discussed in advance.

We worked with Kruger Construction during a residential remodel involving construction of a detached garage, upper deck and spiral staircase. As a landscape design and construction company we value working with builders who communicate clearly , have not only knowledge and expertise but a commitment to quality that our clients demand. We collaborated with Krueger on a large phase 3 landscape project which included a detached garage , breezeway , grass driveway and spiral staircase. During the project we had to coordinate and collaborate on key elements such as the finish height of the garage floor, breezeway connections, drainage plan and spiral stair elevation to ensure an exceptional finished product. We were very pleased with the craftsmanship of the work done and the clear communication that enable this project to be a success for our mutual client.

Matt Krueger and his team did an outstanding job. Built By Krueger was recommended to me by a couple of different people I respect and they turned out to be even better than I had hoped. The project was a remodel of a 50 year old house which needed a full makeover as well as some structural reform. We finished the basement and redid the whole kitchen and bathrooms as well as floors, doors, walls, lighting, etc. through the whole house. We also replaced all the windows and exterior siding, etc. It was a big job that required a real time commitment from Matt himself - especially since I had very specific ideas about what I wanted but was not able to be on sight during the process. Matt and his team worked with me throughout the process, reviewing my amateur designs and scribbles and turning those into working plans with lots of their own thoughts and value-added. Matt also provided frequent photos via email and worked with me to review those as we monitored progress. Matt actually made many suggestions that significantly improved the eventual outome and ended up saving me money as well - and he was able to do that because he really listened to what I wanted and then applied his knowledge of techniques and materials to make that a reality. In the follow-up period following completion of the project Matt and his team have been fantastic in responding to little adjustments and tweaks - including things which were not part of their scope of work in the first place. Built By Krueger has a network of skilled and reliable sub-contractors and business contacts and we have been very comfortable and pleased with all of the specialized contractors Matt pulled in, and with the way he worked closely with each of them to ensure that each aspect of the project was well alignd with the overall plan and vision. We could not be happier with the outcome. Probably the single most important part of this success was the integrity Matt and his team brought to the project and the trust based relationship we developed as a result. My entire family got to know Matt and his team through this process and it has been a real pleasure - really Matt is more of a family friend at this point.

Built by Krueger just finished a complete gut and expansion of our master suite and it is amazing! Everything we envisioned in the beginning (my must haves were a fireplace and more light) has been brought to life and we love the finished product. It was a collaborative process between the architect, interior designer, us and Brian Krueger and, honestly, it turned out much much cooler than anything we could have designed on our own. Some of the highlights are: an awesome custom shelving unit using reclaimed wood, a stone wall, steam shower, fireplace and a giant slider that lets in tons of light. This is our third project with Built by Krueger--each one bigger than the last--and they have delivered something beautiful every time. We're not eager to go through the disruption of another project anytime soon, but when we do, we won't hesitate to call them again. (My photos are lame or I would post some.)

I hired Brian Krueger to build our new home and in one word I would describe Brian and his firm as honest; you get that which he tells you. We had a budget and pretty much stayed within it except for the extra things we desired for the home

My wife and I contracted with Built by Krueger for our custom "dream home", a French Country-inspired house in a private lake community near Denver. Brian worked with us side-by-side throughout the process from inception to design to construction and final inspection. Brian was very accommodating with our desire to bring in vintage elements and features, such as counters made from reclaimed wood floors and custom ironwork. Brian was also extremely skillful in working with our bank to ensure that we had the budget to realize our dream. Lastly, Brian's long-term relationships with his subcontractors resulted in high-quality work delivered exactly as we requested. We would highly recommend Built by Krueger to anyone considering a well-appointed custom home.

In 2007 we hired Brian on the advice of our architect who liked Brian's workmanship AND the fact that he was as honest as the day is long. Over the next year or so, we worked with Brian and his designer Tammy to build what has become a real dream home. Bottom line: Brian knows his stuff. And Tammy was incredible in directing us toward very unique designing ideas. Brian's crew were some of the best I have seen and, as an added bonus, Brian has a very good sense of humor, which was a big plus for me. I would recommend Brian to anyone and have and will continue to use Brian for any project we have in the future.

My husband and I hired Brian Krueger and his construction crew to build our dream home in 2006. From start to finish Brian's attention to details and standards for excellence were obvious and as a result our home is beautiful! I had heard stories about how stressful home building can be so I was more than a bit leery about the whole process. We were fortunate to have our home built by Built by Krueger. Everyone on the Krueger team was amazing to work with. Any concerns we had were addressed in a timely manner. The attention to detail was obvious throughout the build process and the final product is exactly what we wanted.

We had Krueger Construction do two different phases of our home remodel. All told, we worked with them for close to 3 years! We were challenging clients (mostly because we didn't know what we didn't know). They did structural work, a gut rehab of our basement, and a near total gut of the upstairs. We came in way over budget on our basement work, but that was our fault. The upstairs came in within a couple thousand dollars of the budget. Which is impressive given that the vision for the project really developed over time. The quality of the work is fantastic. Matt and Brian were also really patient with my sometimes abrupt communication style. Nelson, who was onsite most days was a gem. He even recommended a big design change in the basement that we followed and I'm so glad we did. Integrity is unmatched. I'd trust this team with my life. The biggest thing that I'd do differently the next time around is to hire a designer. We didn't and so were left answering many of the big questions ourselves. As novices, we often felt overwhelmed by the number of choices we had to make.

Built by Krueger built our custom home in Boulder, CO. We were so pleased with both the process and our finished home. Staff were helpful and patient as we waded through the process of building our dream home from the ground up. Built by Krueger did such a great job that we have used them forremodeling work on two rental properties. I recommend Built by Krueger without exception based on my experience of a complete house transformation. I worked with Built by Krueger for over one year; from pre-purchase consultation of what was possible with the property through post move-in checks by them that all elements of the house where functioning properly. The scope of work included demolition of two levels of a house, taking it to the exterior shell, and a complete rebuild with an addition to increase the size and function. Throughout the project I was informed of the budget status; I was consulted and counseled regarding necessary items; price for quality; timelines. At all times I was treated with upmost respect.
