Chartier Building Company built our waterfront home in Little Compton, RI. They did an excellent job that was completed on time and on budget, with no “surprises”. It was an absolute pleasure working with Rick Chartier and frankly one of the best experiences we have had with any contractor. He communicated well, was always pleasant and had great ideas on problem-solving and post-architect modifications. This great attitude was reflected throughout his entire team. Rick stood completely behind his work and readily returned to address some minor problems (without charge) after the house was completed. We wholeheartedly recommend Chartier Building Company.

When we bought our second home in Little Compton, we were committed to working with local craftsmen to support the community. After one meeting with Rick, we knew we had found the right firm. Rick not only carried out a meticulous renovation of our master suite, but he also worked hand in hand with our architect to plan a significant addition to our home. We had to pivot when our original plans did not conform with town code, and the creative thinking and commitment to finding the right solution resulted in a more cohesive, complete, and stunning addition. Not only does it mesh perfectly with the main house, it fits in beautifully with the many mature and unique landscaping features. When you get to know the crew, they are all there for one reason- they love working for Rick, and that goes for his subs, too. This is the third house we've built and by far the most enjoyable experience with the highest quality result.

Rick has a wonderful team and he himself knows how to fix everything, even the fussiest/most problematic things. He has done 2 large trim replacement jobs for me and also some minor projects. It's rare to find someone who will do both the 'big' and 'punch list' type things. He is a gentleman and is an excellent estimator so there are no surprises when the final invoice arrives.

Rick and the team at Chartier Building Company built an attached garage to our existing home with an in-law apartment above. To say we are blown away doesn't really describe how happy we are. Rick and his team are responsive, accurate, thourough, efficient, timely, ahead of schedule and under budget. It doesn't get better than this! We came across CBC while searching builders on the internet, and then he came highly recommended by several people we respect. Rick and his crew are pros! He's a great communicator, sticks to schedules, solves problems, has great subs, and helped us out with some great ideas. He helped us realize our dream house, came in on budget, and AHEAD of schedule. We would hire him again in a heartbeat!

My wife and I were in the middle of a home construction disaster. Our previous contractor had stolen from us and had our home torn apart with no intention of completing the job. Consequently, we fired the previous contractor and were told by friends to call Chartier Building Company. In doing so, we spoke with the owner, Richard Chartier, who turned out to be a man of tremendous integrity. Within 3 weeks, he and his professional staff came in and cleaned up the extensive mess that the previous contractor left. I highly recommend Chartier Building Company. We moved to the southcoast area in 2006. Rick and company remodeled our kitchen, built an addition, a patio, installed 2 dormers upstairs and generally changed the structure of our home from a small, dark, closed in cape to an open concept, light and very livable home. We live in a neighborhood with lots of walkers. We still receive raves on the work that he did! This year we are remodeling an upstairs bath. We called him, have an estimate and he will begin work soon!
