In the waning days of 2013, my wife, Becca and I purchased 11 acres of land in Leelanau County in the Partridge Run subdivision. A chance meeting turned up an architect who brought our vision to life. Next, we needed to find a builder to construct our dream home. In June of 2018, we interviewed several builders in the area, and selected Colin Bushong of CMB Construction. Colin, from the outset was enthusiastic and totally accommodating to everything we wanted in our home. Ground breaking and excavation began on May 22, 2019 and we moved in at the end of August 2020. Considering that the building trades were locked down due to COVID-19 from March 2020 to July 2020, this construction took less time than we anticipated. At every step of the way Colin was exceptional. If unexpected issues came up Colin was totally on top of them. This was a "smooth as silk" operation from start to finish. We must also extend our warmest thanks and kudos to Mary Kynkor-Bird, Colin's extraordinary sidekick (Program Assistant?) who assisted us wonderfully in our choices of cabinets, tile, fixtures, appliances, and made sure our choices were implemented. We could not be more pleased, and could not be happier with our new home. Colin - you are tops in our book, and we will sing your praises to anybody who wants to hear. Colin and the crew at CMB built our new home for us in Leelanau County. We looked at over 20 different builders until we found Colin. We had built 2 other homes previously and based on those experiences it was important to find a builder with a passion for quality, good communication and an appreciation for managing the project budget. I used this company in 2016 to re-build a cabin destroyed by a fire. This was a rental property so it was critical it be completed on time. The cabin turned out beautiful, on time and on budget. Also in 2018 we used this company to remodel our kitchen in our home built in 1968 we had recently purchased. It turned out exactly what I was hoping for. CMB Construction are professional, friendly and minimized disruption along with construction debris. I am hoping to use them again in the future to remodel my bathroom
