I could not be HAPPIER with Michael Collom & Collum Construction!!! Michael exceeded our expectations every step of the way! We had Michael build a detached garage and concrete work in our backyard. Every phase - from design to demo to concrete pouring to framework to stucco to roof - Michael was on top of it and highly communicative. He truly cares about his clients and their projects, and his advice is thoughtful and experienced. We appreciate him so much! The contractors that he hires are better than I expected too -- they were quick, respectful, skilled, and did a great job. We look forward to working with Michael again soon on a bathroom remodel. I highly recommend him!!!

We had Michael handle a bathroom remodel for us. We could not have been happier with the experience and the outcome. We were very impressed with his professionalism and attention to detail. He was up front about the cost and what it included and would give us a new scope of work and price when any changes were decided upon. I was not certain about what I wanted done to the bathroom and Michael was very helpful in his suggestions as to what would be a good choice or not. He even took me on a four-hour excursion to multiple suppliers to find the tile and fixtures, etc. for the bathroom. He was very patient and adamant I got the remodel I wanted. The bathroom looks beautiful and the quality of work exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be calling Michael with any other work we need done.

We had a great experience with Collom Construction and our kitchen remodel/ bathroom addition. Prior to working with Collom, we met with about 20 other general contractors. We were shocked that approximately 50-75% were not operating in a legal or compliant manner. This included: 1) not having an active CSLB license, 2) pretending to be a different contractor and mimicking their license, 3) having the wrong license type, 4) incorrectly stating permits were not required, 5) requiring an illegally high down payment (up to 15x legal max), and 6) unnecessarily charging for asbestos removal (3rd party testing confirmed there was no asbestos). Needless to say, it was a relief to find Collom Construction. Before we signed a contract with Collom, Michael provided a very thorough quote and set reasonable timing expectations. After we signed, he was quick to get the plans submitted to the City for permit approval. While we waited for the City to review the permits, Michael helped us to select the initial materials and design details. Construction began soon after the permits were ready. All of the people working at the house were polite and friendly. Michael was in constant communication and always let us know if there was anything out of the ordinary or required immediate attention. He even let our dogs out every time he worked at the house. Now that the project has been completed for several weeks, we are very happy with the outcome and Collom's quality of work. Everything looks exactly how we imagined it. We are comforted to know that construction was done according to City code and the work will last a long time. We will definitely continue to use Collom Construction for any future projects we have.

When we originally re-modeled our master bath, we believed we sufficiently qualified the general contractor with background checks and reviews. Unfortunately, the experience was a disaster and we ended up in lengthy litigation. Although we recovered our costs, we still had to face ripping out the bathroom again and starting over. After more research and due diligence, we chose Collom Construction, which did the job beautifully. Collom corrected known issues, and identified and resolved additional construction defects by the first contractor that we did not know about. Most importantly, we ended up with a gorgeous master bath thanks to Collom. Our experience with Collom Construction was superb and we highly recommend the company. In particular, we appreciated the following: •First rate work quality; •The company fulfilled all of its contractual obligations, confirming our satisfaction every step of the way; •Collom exceeded our expectations in project management, including coordination and oversight of subcontractors; •Milestones were completed on time and on budget; •Michael and his team members and subcontractors were polite, flexible, and professional.

We first hired Collom Construction back in 1994 to complete numerous design and remodeling projects to our then home in Sunset Cliffs including designing and building new partial underground garage. We were very pleased with the quality of his work and the experience of working with him, and continued to take advantage of Collom for additional improvements over the next three years. In 2002 a broken water pipe flooded a section of the house and all our records for the home improvements were destroyed. Years after that when we sold the house and wanted to address capital gains, we knew our only chance for tax relief was that Michael might still have his records for the home improvements we made! At best, it was a long shot, since this was more than twenty-three years after-the-fact, but to our great relief, he did! Don’t know why we were surprised, since this demonstrated exactly what our experience with Michael has been since day one working with him: Collom Construction was always on top of things and their organized and methodical approach to renovation stood out as an exception to the rule. Little did we realize that our investment in Collom then would continue to serve us today! Bob W

I've hired Michael Collom construction to perform three projects. One was a repair/renovation job for my elderly father (plumbing and bathroom remodel), one was an interior/exterior renovation for a client (roof, bathroom remodel, carpet, , and another was a range of exterior projects for my condo homeowner's association. I can tell you all sincerely that each project was a success and completed on budget and on time. Michael is a great guy - excellent with homeowners and residents and a problem-solver. If something unexpected occurs you don't have to worry because Michael and his team will figure it out with a solution that's both innovative and economical. My dad was calm and confident during his project and my client speaks very highly of his experience (he lived in the home during the work). I highly recommend Collom Construction.

Very professional and honest. Our house had many issues that Michael had to deal with. Michael spent many extra hours with the fire department, school districts, and planning departments to obtain a permit for our project and the outcome is beautiful. I hired Collom Construction to get my house ready to rent, and had an extremely positive experience. With Michael's experience and professionalism, I had a beautiful house again. Two years later when I had a small water leak the week before Thanksgiving, his team responded immediately and had it repaired and back together, including new carpet , just in time for my tenants to enjoy the Holiday! I would highly recommend Collom Construction!

Our experience with Collom Construction was a nightmare. We were not treated with respect and were given misrepresentations about the work they would perform. A very unprofessional company. We hired them to do a simple remodel. They were slow and caused damage to our home. I could not recommend this company to anyone.
