Creative Custom Carpentry

We worked with Rick to renovate our kitchen. He was amazing from start to finish. He is professional and knowledgeable. He was in constant communication with us throughout the project. His work is beautiful! We are so happy that we found him and highly recommend him!

We worked with Rick from Creative Custom Carpentry to install Crown Molding and Wall Paneling in our Dining Room and Stairwell. Rick was one of five estimates we received for the work. Two words come to mind, when thinking about Rick and the work he performed (A) Partner (B) Professional. Partner: Rick truly partnered with us on this project. He was the lone vendor to bring samples of the various molding options we could select from. He made two trips to our home to ensure he had a full / complete grasp of that which we were looking for before drafting a detailed quote. He also developed multiple iterations of drawings to illustrate what the finished product would look like – to ensure it was exactly what we were interested in. Professional: Rick was in constant contact throughout the entire process. In addition, when on the job-site, he was here every morning @ 7:30a. and when wrapping up for the day, he was sure to clean-up. Rick and Creative Custom Carpentry was truly interested in ensuring we were satisfied with his work (and we were). As Rick’s work was finish carpentry, it is what everyone will see when they enter the home, as such Rick was meticulous in his execution of the project. You know, you are satisfied with someone’s work, when you are already discussing your next project before they have even finished the one they were currently working on – as we did with Rick from Creative Custom Carpentry.

We couldn't be happier with our bathroom remodel and the meticulous work preformed by Creative Custom Carpentry! Very professional all around. Rick provided a very detailed contract, and kept us updated with any changes or adjustments that might need to be made as the job progressed, right to the very last day. Moving forward, we won't have anyone other than CCC do work in our home.

Rick and his crew are great. They have completed several projects for us. The last project was a custom master bath that required expanding the master bath into the previous walk-in closet and relocating the walk-in closet. The master bath is breathtaking with its steam and regular shower, large free standing tub, radiant heat in the floor, new windows, crown moldings, vanity and freestanding linen closet. You have to see it to believe it. We couldn’t have had a better designer/master carpenter.

After 40 yrs. celebrated Christmas in our newly renovated basement with our new furnace. Generator, central air, new windows! Whose house is this? Great renovation! Rick organized everyone and supervised them all. He kept in constant touch as we were not in the house for three months. Happy, happy, happy.

Rick did over two bathrooms in my home recently. He is very professional and neat. The time frame he gave to do both jobs was exactly what he told us from start to finish. We are very happy with both bathrooms. He does amazing finish work and we would highly recommend him.

Rick did a full gut rehab of our kitchen and dinning room. He did a WONDERFUL job and very neat and cleaned up before he left every day. He was professional, on time and within budget. He was very easy to work with and kept me abreast of the any issues. It was a pleasure to work with him.

I have been a neighbor of Rick Vincuilla for more than twenty years. I would see him building his deck and his patio and I knew he was very meticulous in his work. Our bathroom needed remodeling and my wife and I thought we would look into Creative Custom Carpentry. We finally found him in houzz.com and was looking at his photos of his previous jobs. The body of work looked impressive so I hired my neighbor! We were not disappointed. The bathroom looks great. You can see the photos on this site under bathroom remodel. Rick had some interesting challenges when doing our bathroom. the biggest was installing another drain pipe so we could meet code. All the challenges were overcome and you can see the finished product ( again check out Rick's posted pics.) and it is fantastic! I didn't give this five star review because Rick is my neighbor ( if the work was substandard I probably would not have thrown him under the bus, but I would not have written a review), the work deserves 5 plus stars! We are already thinking of siding our house and we will give Creative Custom Carpentry a shot at that bid too.

There were two essential qualities I was looking for when hiring a general contractor to remodel my kitchen which included removing a non-barring wall in the house. First: Is this contractor organized enough to stay on schedule and managed all the various components including sub-contractors and suppliers? I didn’t want my approximate 10-week job turning into a five-month ordeal. Second: Is the price I will be paying fair? Will this contractor layout for me, to the best of his ability all the potential costs that are involved with a project like mine and not nickel and dime me at the end? In hiring Rick, I got all of that …and more. Right from the very beginning when he came to assess the job, his attention to detail was amazing. The time he spent in my home and the questions he asked about what I was hoping to do really impressed me especially when I saw how detailed the job proposal was. Nobody else’s was like that. I nicknamed him “The Professor” because he kept making sure I was doing MY homework of choosing my items for the kitchen to keep this job on schedule and always answering ALL my questions about what and how things were being done. At the end of each construction day, the work areas were always cleaned up and I felt that Rick respected the rest of my home and property. We spoke nearly every day and ALWAYS kept me updated on the work process. I am a very organized person but in comparison to Rick.....I looked like I had ADD - Attention Deficit Disorder! He had a spreadsheet to show the date and length of time for each stage of the process from demolition to the final walk through....and we kept to it. My construction was done on time (actually …really ahead of time) and while I can’t say it was on budget….that was NOT Rick’s fault simply either because of problems we encountered along the way that could never have been foreseen with my home or things I added in as the process went on. In the end though….it was all money well spent. I am eternally grateful to the friend that suggested Rick….and I am forever thankful that it was Rick I hired to remodel my kitchen that I absolutely love. Thank you Rick…..

We contacted Rick for a full remodel of our kitchen. We have a large kitchen, but the Cherry Cabinets and the oversized soffit kept the kitchen area dark. The eating area was fine with 4 windows, but the single window in the kitchen kept it too dark. Rick came in and spent 2 hours going through the details of what we were looking for. His proposal was very detailed, outlining all of the work to be done and the cost of each task. He was flexible and worked with us to bring the project into our budgetary constraints. He was also flexible in using vendors we wanted to use. We had already selected Granite and tile from different companies so he worked with them to schedule the project. He also spent hours hunting down 2 doors that would match the existing door design rather than having us change all of our cabinet doors. Truly above and beyond, and this was just on the bidding process. This made selecting him easy because we already knew how detail oriented he is. When the job started, we encountered our first problem - the upstairs waste pipes would prevent our initial design for above the cabinets. Rick worked with us and came up with a design that not only handled the waste pipes, but looks terrific now that the kitchen is done. Due to factors outside his control, the project was delayed while we waited for a vendor to replace a piece of cabinetry that came in the wrong color. Rick worked around the issue to keep the project as close to on time as possible, and apologized for the delay even though it was the vendor that was delaying the project. Overall, the project came in only a week late. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful as our friends and family feel it came right out of a magazine. Everything in the kitchen is done right, down to the handles. My wife recently commented how Rick spent the entire day measuring and remeasuring before drilling and installing the handles on the cabinets. He made sure every handle is aligned correctly. We absolutely love the work Rick did for us, and we will be bringing him back for our Master Bathroom. He is so easy to work with, dependable, detailed oriented, and flexible. He is the type of person you want doing your renovation.

We called Rick at Creative Custom Carpentry after seeing photos on Houzz. We knew right away that he understood what we were looking for in our basement. We needed a space for a 9 foot antique pool table, and didn't want to worry about damage to the surrounding walls. Rick's suggestion of barnboard walls fit our needs perfectly, making the space warm, casual and indestructible. The photos are posted on the website. We asked for built in storage for audio equipment and luggage, as well as small appliance storage on the pantry side of the basement. Everything was done to perfection. Rick and his colleagues had a lot of imperfections to deal with including low ceilings, uneven floors and deteriorating stairs. He worked so hard and late into the night to get the results he wanted and to finish on time. He suggested keeping the low ceiling open and finished off with flat black paint. The ceilings came out phenomenal. They look burnished and go so well with the barnboard and lighting. We highly recommend Rick and Creative Custom Carpentry. We've done several renovations in the past and must say that Rick's estimates are the most detailed we've seen, which was very much appreciated. His workmanship & attention to detail is second to none. It was a job very well done. We've already got him coming back to renovate one of our bathrooms. Very, very highly recommended.

I hired Rick to finish the second floor of a home I had just purchased. Rick is a trust-worthy person who does what he says he will do. He was prompt, courteous, neat, and respectful of my family and my belongings throughout the process. He is meticulous and thorough and produces a high-quality end result. Rick's subcontractors were all terrific as well. You will not be disappointed if you hire Rick. I recommend him strongly.
