We had LUX do a small raised deck with composite wood, as well as completing the treated-wood fencing around our new-build house. They had built most of the fencing on our block and also had done the deck for our next-door neighbor. The work was completed according to the quoted price, and throughout they were very responsive via email, phone and even text. There were delays due to the unseasonably bad weather we experienced this summer, but this was out of their control and similar to how our other contractors were affected. Alexandria gave us an extensive number of deck material brochures to choose from, and sent us to “The Deck Store” to see some mock-ups and get some samples. The staff there was extremely helpful to ensure that we made informed choices. LUX was very accommodating to work around our other yard contractors – such as getting our deck screw piles installed immediately so that their equipment would not tear up our new sod which was also about to go in. Nick’s fence and gate design also took into account our desire to ensure that our cats could not escape from the yard. A big aspect of their work was Matt’s attention to detail, indicative of his experience and work ethic. For instance, after setting the posts in concrete, he braced them to prevent any leaning or twisting overnight. Some contractors may not go to this trouble. He also had high standards for the materials used, as evident by all the “reject” boards I saw. We are very pleased with our new deck and fence – the latter of which is likely sturdy enough to keep us safe even during a Zombie Apocalypse ;-)

We hired Lux Country Living after having gathered a few quotes from contractors to build our deck. They quoted is a fair and reasonable price, but out decison was based on how professional they conducted themselves from start to finish. We didn't want to go with the most affordable option as we have learned our lesson going that route. Lux was a pleasure to work with. They were patient, knowledgable, and very quick to respond to all our questions. We have referred them to friends and neighbors and would gladly hire them again in the future. Our deck was completely in a very timely matter and they did a solid and excellent job.
