Doug is #1 in the residential construction field. Very attentive to detail and assurring total customer satisfaction. Hard working and treats you like a best friend. Highly recommended. This recommendation from me is based on my 20 yrs of commercial construction experience involved in nearly every significant Project in Seattle in those 20 yrs. (Safeco Field, EMP, CityHall, Seattle Seawall, multiple fire stations, and city transit systems). Hire him, you won't regret it!

Doug was the superintendent of the crew that built my home 18 years ago. I liked him so much that I hired him on his own to do a bathroom remodel last year and soon will hire him again to do a laundry room remodel. He is a genuinely nice and honest guy with great attention to detail, not to mention a very hard worker. He cares about getting the best price for his customer and has great relationships with most of his subs. The only problem we/he ran into was pinning his painter down, but once the painter's crew finally arrived, they did great work too. If it was an option I would have given his company 4.5 stars because of the painful nature of scheduling the painter, but only 4 stars wouldn't give Doug enough credit for the rest of his fantastic work that came off without a hitch, so I have given Doug 5 stars. Our bathroom is beautiful and for all I know all great painters are nearly impossible to schedule during the summer months. :-)

Doug is a fantastic contractor! He is professional, knowledgeable, helpful and dependable. Doug suggested creative ideas and recommendations for the design of our kitchen remodel which we now enjoy! He was attentive, personable and prompt! Doug was very hands -on through out the remodeling process and willing to find the best quality materials within my budget. He kept us informed of deadlines and deliveries and always had our best interest in mind. Doug did an amazing job!

We have hired D.A. Martensen Construction to complete two remodels for us. The first was a master bathroom remodel and the second was a whole house remodel and addition to a newly purchased home. Doug has the utmost integrity and did not consider any of the work complete until we were satisfied and thought it was complete. He was easy to work with and had excellent subs who were always very respectful and excellent at their specialty. We certainly ran into problems and had many changes during our huge house remodel/addition and Doug was always very willing to problem solve along with us and the final results are incredible. We are completely happy with our new home and have already recommended Doug to several friends.

Was respectful of our home, easy to work with and flexible when things come up in a project. Have recommended to other friends and they have hired him to do projects for them as well. Can easily do small to very large projects.

This is the second job that D. A. Martensen Construction has done for us, so obviously we were pleased with the first one! Doug has several fortes, some that are not often found in other contractors. First, he shows up when he says he will and is super professional in all of his dealings. He is a great architect/designer. With both jobs, we just had a basic idea of what we wanted to do and he picked up on our thoughts and came up with some absolutely amazing plans that we would have never thought of on our own. One of his strengths is also something that could almost be considered a weakness, too. He is a perfectionist and does not tolerate anything less than excellent work/products from his sub-contractors. Unfortunately, this led to some little delays on one project and major delays on the other. However, in both cases, the finished product was superb and we are very happy. Doug is also a very fine gentleman.

Can't say enough good things about D.A. Martensen Construction. Ten stars for these guys. I have referred and hired D.A. Martensen for odd jobs and high-end custom jobs . The customer service remains impeccable. You'll be hard pressed to find similar trustworthy people in the home building industry. D.A. Martensen has made me aware of all the facets of construction. Doug was very easy to work with. He does things RIGHT and ON-Time. His experience and relationships with his "subs" ensure that you are getting the highest craftmanship. We were happy with his suggestions to enhance our project. We did a MAJOR renovation to the front of our home. People who we have known for years, but have not been to our home often drive by thinking "no-way, that's not it." thinking they must have turned on the wrong street.
