Rob did a major renovation of our house including adding a second floor to a split level home, opening up the house, increasing height of first floor, and finishing the basement. The work came out exactly as we’d dreamed and Rob provided great suggestions along the way. Rob took the time to understand our plans and vision before taking on the project, much more than any other GC. During the construction he managed removing the roof (in January) and all adjustments needed throughout the process to handle our older home (1950’s). He was very fair through the process and great communication. He also knows the local market extremely well in terms of finding great prices and custom crews for whatever finishing needs we required. Rob and team performed top quality finishings including custom moldings, shelving, doors, steel railings, heated floors, vaulted ceilings, etc. Rob is now our GC and friend going forward!

Rob Wasserman and Double Diamond do quality work. They are responsible and responsive craftsmen. They did a big interior project for us when we bought our home in late 2013. They are now doing an exterior project. Unlike some contractors, they do what they say they are going to do, when they say they are going to do it. They don't disappear for weeks on end.

We’ve just completed our second major renovation with double diamond Inc. we are just as happy the second time around! After completing a major kitchen renovation with an addition, we decided to use double diamond again for our master bath renovation. Rob, of double diamond, stays on budget and on his projected timelines. His crew is talented, respectful, and clean! Double diamond is now our go-to for all our household renovation needs.

Project: To convert a 3rd floor dated old bedroom and closet [100 years old] into a updated office/guest room, with a a brand new full bathroom [no existing bathroom], in addition to adding central Air to 2nd and 3rd floors. New flooring, updated steam piping with new steam radiator, 4 new skylights, new larger window, full wall & ceiling spray foam [mostly closed cell], and custom built in desk/shelves. Additionally a structural element was uncovered during demo that was addressed within 1 week. The plumbers were able to fix 80 year steam pipes within my walls that were incorrectly pitched that would cause very loud banging. The good/great: As you can see by the before and after pictures, quite a transformation, exceeding my expectations. Not only is Rob extremely knowledgeable, a pleasure to talk to and transparent about the status of the project, his team [from demo, to electric, plumbing, drywall/tile/paint/tape/carpenters, HVAC] was a pleasure to have in the house. They entertained my questions, kept the house tidy and clean and most importantly [because my wife was pregnant and had a child during this project] they did everything they could to minimize noise,smell and always asked if we were satisfied. The bad: None he could control. Anybody thinking about a big renovation should 100% expect delays, old houses have problems that require addressing. The permit process is at the mercy of the city, Rob does everything he can to catch up when there are delays and tries to use his network to get updates on permits and feedback on inspections. Overall, if you are looking for a contractor who has a professional team, who is honest, trustworthy, you need to give Rob a ring.

I recently just finished my kitchen renovation with Rob Wasserman of Double Diamond construction. Rob and his team were very professional and easy to work with. They stuck to their proposal and finished on time. The team is very conscientious and incredibly neat while working. They were very respectful of the house and cleaned up along the way. My 150+ year old house with a kitchen that had not been updated in 57 years, presented many challenges as well as surprises. The vision was to bring a kitchen from the 19th century to the 21st while maintaining the overall integrity of the house. As soon as I met Robert Wasserman of Double Diamond, I knew he understood my vision and would be able to build the kitchen our family had waited for so long. Rob understood the potential problems houses of this age can present which I felt was very crucial. He started working with his team of sub-contractors to focus on realistically knowing what issues we had to deal with not only in the kitchen, but the basement as well, which was going to need new structural and beam supports. Electrical and plumbing were all impacted and required moving of lines and pipes. A thorough analysis was presented clarifying the process, options and costs. Rob was very thorough, organized and budget focused. Professional and conscientious from beginning to end. An excellent communications line was maintained from the onset of the renovation. Many times I was out of town, and had no concerns about the work being done. I felt I could contact him with any questions, no matter how trivial and get a response. Any issues, of which we had several, were addressed and quickly resolved. When a decision was made to open a structural wall between the FR and DR as well, his years of experience and knowledge of the scenario presented, made the decision process easily understood. I must add that I can’t say enough about his entire staff of sub-contractors. Their skill and diligence was excellent. Their attention to detail and workmanship was beyond what I expected. They were on time, polite and left the work area clean at the end of the day. My confidence in Double Diamond stayed with me the entire time and didn’t waver. The end result was a beautiful, modern, functional kitchen beyond my expectations. Even though the kitchen renovation is completed, I plan to use Robert Wasserman of Double Diamond for future small projects. I highly recommend him for any renovations you are considering. He is Excellent!

They are a delight to work with, responsive, clean, and professional.
