It all boils down to relationships. I started my aprenticeship in home building with a focus on finish carpentry during my summers in High School in the early 80s. By 1991 I had worked for several companies learning valuable skills from all of them. It was then that I persued my license as a General Contrator. Looking back over the last 30+ years in this business has taught me two valuable lessons; First - relationships are the most important part of business. No matter what you build and no matter what the cost if the relationship is great the job is a success. Second - When we are done learning we can go home. My first employer used to say that and after decades I realize what he meant. We can learn something from every job and every person we meet along the way. Great customers make a business great. During the past 2 years I have been blessed to be able to work with my son. The time I get to spend with him has been the most rewarding for me. Father and Son teams are rare in the trades. Most young men are looking for digital careers. Homes will not be constructed by computers any time soon. It is a delight to apply my experince and expertise to every project.
