Josh and team did a stellar job on our two bathrooms and bedroom remodel. Dan, the project manager, was an absolute delight, which made the process smooth and almost pleasant. Never thought I'd say that about a remodel—especially an unplanned one that was caused by water damage. We will definitely use Empirical for any projects we have in the future.

We hired Empirical Construction for a decent sized basement project, blank slate to start. I appreciate the communication, options presented, and transparency. We ran into some normal issues and they were handled professionally. The only reason I'm not rating at five stars is due to one particular subcontractor who caused delays. It's my understanding that subcontractor is no longer being used, so I wouldn't hold that against the company as a prospective customer. On a personal level, enjoyed having Dan as our project manager. He was great with daily communication and our dog Ted will miss Dan, who always gave him treats!

We are very happy after working with Empirical Construction to complete a basement finish project. From the initial meeting to the final walk through, the process was very smooth and customer focused. Josh did an amazing job understanding what we wanted to accomplish. As a result, we now have a finished basement that greatly exceeds our initial expectations. We highly recommend Empirical Construction! Throughout the project, communication with Josh and his team was responsive and easy to understand. This included any questions that we had as the project progressed as well as any modifications along the way. In addition, all of the costs were explained up front and there were no surprises that affected the budget. Josh was also able to keep the project moving along as he was able to schedule the next work to be done as soon as the previous steps were completed. Our finished basement is now a great addition to our home. The quality of the work done by Empirical Construction was evident from the initial design phase all the way down to the smallest details in terms of materials and installation. For any future projects, we will be looking to work with Empirical Construction. Josh and his company would be a great choice for any of your home renovation or remodeling needs!

I used empirical construction to finish two extra rooms attached to my garage so I could use them as a home office and home gym. I am extremely pleased with how everything came out and Josh and Ryan were great to work with. They were most responsive company during the bidding process and were responsive throughout the project as well. I’ll be using them for any additional major renovation work in the future and will definitely recommend them to my friends as well.

All I can say is WOW! My wife and I have had many remodeling projects in 3 homes over the last 15 years; Empirical Construction towers above any and all help we've ever hired. Not only was the finished project (we had a complete kitchen remodel, including the removal of a load bearing wall) immaculate, but the entire project from start to finish went smoother than we could have ever expected. We are so happy and so grateful that we choose Josh and his amazing project manager, Chuck to work with us. On top of impeccable quality work, the price quote was the best of several quotes we received AND they did not go over our quote--no surprise increases! I’m glad I looked at Yelp for reviews, because this is how we found Empirical Construction. We talked to a few other contractors but stopped after we met with Josh at our consult. We started our construction at the beginning of the Coronavirus, which turned into the stay home orders. Josh & his team asked us what we were comfortable with, and respected our decisions. We were having our basement finished - and all the workers used the ‘emergency’ exit to go in & out - we never encountered anyone in the weeks it took to complete. The estimate was spot on, time and money. Josh & Aaron know enough by experience, how long inspectors would take, even with the pandemic no less, so ‘the wait for inspection’ time was still in the original estimate duration. There were no additional charges - but let me be clear - we also did NOT change, add, remove anything from our original vision and design. The craftsmanship was impeccable. The basement looks like it was part of the original build. If it wasn’t for my before pictures, I would not believe it’s the same house. We’ve had plenty of contractors for various works, over the past 20 years, but Empirical was absolutely, the best to work with. Not just because of their quality of work that execute on all their tasks, (tile, flooring, dry wall, painting, plumbing, electrical) but project management. This always is the biggest pet peeve on an home project we do, because we have to hunt down the company - “are you coming today”, “what’s next”… But NOT with Empirical. Josh & Aaron stayed in constant contact, that we NEVER wondered “what would happen tomorrow’.. So glad we found them, and would use them again for any other project needed!!

We had Empirical Construction renovate our kitchen and living area. We are thrilled with the results! All of the contractors working on this project were professional and courteous. Empirical Construction kept to the original schedule in light of some structural setbacks. We highly recommend Empirical Construction and will use them for any future projects.

We called Josh at Empirical Construction after a horrible experience with a different contracting company left our 1905 Victorian home in disarray. We decided to take over the job ourselves, however needed some expert opinion to help guide us through permitting and building. Josh jumped right into our job without hesitation. This is saying a lot given the state of our home at the time! Josh was willing to write up a consulting contract for us and we called him when we had questions that were holding up our job. He came over and did walk-throughs with us (often on the same day we called for help). He was thorough in his recommendations, helping guide us through the process. Josh was very knowledable and pointed out things we would have never thought about. He's also very personable and listens to what the home owner wants. I'm happy to say we are back home now and our renovations turned out beautifully! This could not have happened without Josh's help. I only wish we would have hired him from the start! We would highly recommend him to anyone that's looking to remodel or renovate. Thanks so much for all your help Josh!!!

This was our first large-scale home improvement project and we love the results. We did a full basement remodel and it looks awesome! Josh was great to work with, responsive, on budget, and even finished the project early! He was trustworthy and honest which was very important to us. Josh is also very knowledgeable about Denver city codes and permitting and handled the entire process seamlessly. When we found a leak in our foundation, he went above and beyond to find someone to remedy the situation while continuing to push the project forward. I would definitely recommend Josh and Empirical.

Honest, trustworthy and hardworking General Contractor We have had a wonderful experience with Josh from Empirical Construction over the past 6 months of our very large "gut job" construction project of our home. He was physically at our house every day and oversaw every last detail of the job. His quality standards are high and he is very detail oriented which we appreciated. We have a historic home and wished to maximize form and function for our family while also maintaining historic charm and character. Josh was helpful in this process and helped us find solutions, such as a hardwood that would match the original flooring, that we are very happy with. We were very happy with all of the subcontractors that he works with as well. Perhaps most importantly, we finished ON TIME and ON BUDGET. Who can say that about a massive renovation project?? The only overages/delays we had were due to us (the owners) expanding the scope, and a couple of unforeseen structural issues from our very old (1903) house. Otherwise, the original budget and project schedule tied back. Each time we encountered unforeseen issues (e.g. structural floorboards that had been cut), Josh was very up front with us in explaining the issue and all of our potential solutions, with cost and timing implications. We were able to come to some happy medium solutions where we didn't completely blow our budget but also ensured our house was safe and done right. We would not hesitate to recommend or use Empirical Construction again, and likely plan to for a major kitchen reno in a few years.

We had the best experience with Empirical Construction! We first worked with Josh and his team to repair a plumbing issue under our kitchen sink. We were so pleased with the service we received, we asked Josh to complete a remodel project to free up space in our house. He built out a hallway closet for us to move our washer and dryer into. He was very aware of our need for space and gave us many great ideas for the remodel. We were amazed with the quick turnaround and greatly appreciated the attention to the budget. You will not be disappointed working with Empirical Construction.

Josh from Empirical Construction handled the remodel of our living room/kitchen area. We needed to take down a wall surrounding a stairway to open up the kitchen to the living room. The work required the roof to be re-enforced, extensive electrical work, framing, decorative woodworking and dry wall. I had had other dry wall contractors come in and tell me that they could not match the original texturing of the ceiling but the contractor Josh found had no problem matching the texture and did a fantastic job. We also had our wood floors refinished and couldn't be happier. All the contractors that Josh arranged to complete the work were professional and completed the work in the agreed amount of time. I am very satisfied and will use Empirical Construction for future projects.
