Our main concern was that the addition wouldn’t feel like an addition. With our Mar Vista project, the focus ended up being on proportions and flow more than finishes. It blends in really well, which we notice every day.

We redid the backyard and pool and just didn’t want anything that felt too “designed.” This was at our place in Calabasas. Turns out the layout matters more than how many features you add. We’re out there all the time now.
