Bill Hern just completed his fifth project on our home! He added my dream front porch to our brick home in Kenwood and it turned out beautifully! Since first hiring him in 2001 for a major renovation, we have loved his work and wouldn't trust our home to anyone else. He is great to work with and listens to our ideas, resulting in an end result that we are always thrilled with! His work ethic is amazing, and he does most of the work himself. Our neighbors called him Superman as they watched him construct our porch. Once he begins a project, he is here every day, or else I know why he will not be here. From talking with others going through renovations, this is a rare quality. We love and trust Bill enough to leave the front door open for him if I have to leave in the morning before his arrival. My sister who helps with my dogs even commented that she will miss chatting with him now that he is finished.

I can't say enough great things about Bill Hern and his work. We hired Bill to do a small renovation of our mudroom and a rather extensive renovation of our kitchen. The job took approximately 3 months and Bill was on the project every single day. I never felt uncomfortable voicing concerns or questions when things would come up. He is flexible, open minded and strives to please. When our kitchen cabinets were delayed, at no fault of his, he managed to stay on schedule by completing other items in the meantime. He stayed within budget and on time...totally delivered on his promise. Would absolutely work with him again in the future!

Hern builders created a professional design element to our family room and repaired leaks and damage in window walls and siding.

Hiring Hern builders for our kitchen remodel was the best decision we could have made for our home! Bill Hern is a quintessential pro with such a wealth of experience in so many areas of the total home, I felt like I was getting a guide and a designer, not just an excellent remodeling contractor. Bill was with us from day 1, helping us plan the layout and looking into all facets and potential pitfalls with our 105 year old home. He foresaw issues early, and even corrected ancient problems with electrical and structural issues leftover from previous (lesser) contractors as he worked, leaving our infrastructure in better integrity than when he started. Bill also estimated well, kept us apprised of any changes that might affect cost, and gave us options at every turn. He was trustworthy and kind; he even played with my 5-year-old daughter as she explored the big cardboard boxes that arrived! In the end, the job turned out brilliantly. Bill built in amazing little features and delighted us with magnificent small surprises (such as under-cabinet dimable lights) that really made the work special. We would work with him again in a heartbeat.

Bill Hern at Hern Builders Inc. is truly one of a kind. He is an extremely talented craftsman. He has been in the business for 40+ years, and does it all. He can build a house from the ground up, completely gut and renovate, or on a smaller scale design and build built in bookshelves. He is a one stop shop, and I will never use another builder for a project. Hern Builders Inc. completely gutted our kitchen/family room and our master bedroom, and the finish product was stunning. Bill is attentive, extremely detail oriented, neat, always on time, and gives your project his undivided attention until completion. Bill is hands down the BEST.

Bill did a fantastic job on our kitchen and bathroom remodel. He closely manages each step of the process to ensure a high level of quality workmanship. Even when we ran into a few unforeseen issues lurking behind the walls, Bill offered clear and creative solutions which turned out great. Master bathroom renovation. Master bathroom completely gutted and redone, including moving and replacing large window, new enlarged shower, soaking tub, tile, cabinets, counter tops, plumbing fixtures, lighting and mirrors Very professional, high level of expertise in all aspects of construction, and finish carpentry. Very dependable and responsive. I would highly recommend Hern Builders for any remodeling project!
