When I decided I wanted to put on an extension to my house I did what most homeowners would do, I called three contractors. One was a referral but the contractor did not have a website which made me very concerned. The next one wouldn't even step on the property without plans prepared by an architect. The third call was to Hugh White who had previously completed a small renovation project for me in my garage. Right from the moment he stepped on the property I realized I should have just called him in the first place. He is a knowledgeable, professional, polite person, and a pleasure to work with. Now I would never think of ever calling anyone else. He associates himself with only subcontractors of the same caliber as he carries himself and his employees are a pleasure to have on site.

Excellent workmanship from Hugh White and his crew. I hired Hugh White Contracting to shingle my entire home, finish the roofing and put all trim and details around 40 Windows on the house. They were hard working, consistent and very professional. The house looks gorgeous!

Hugh White and his crew have done four separate jobs for us over the past four years. First, he put in a Trek deck all around our home on Shelter Island. Next he built a great two-car garage on our property but not attached to the house. Third, he expanded our home to include two additional bedrooms, a new bath, and a new laundry room. Finally, this year he built a Trek Pergola on our deck. We could not be happier with his work. Every job came in on budget. All of his bids were better than or competitive with other bids. Every job was finished on time or ahead of time. The quality of his workmanship and the materials used were excellent. Our town building inspector indicated on all four jobs that everything was done to specs and plans and there were absolutely no problems in terms of permits of actual building/approval. We have stayed in touch with him and he is always available if we have a question. So, simply stated, he was as perfect as we could have wished and we would recommend him to one and all.
