Project 2019 was the second time we hired VanderBie Builder LLC. Several years ago, the company completed a total bathroom remodel at the same address. This 2019 project included: carpentry, new flooring in a living/dining area, kitchen, hallway, bathroom, and laundry room; total bathroom remodel; new kitchen countertops and appliances. There is a diplomatic science to coordinating the many professionals needed to complete a home remodel. Jack and his wife, Anne, work diligently to bring in the different companies as needed and on schedule. They do their best to keep the customer informed of changes/delays in work plans knowing the news is sometimes difficult to deliver. I waited almost 18 months from the time we contacted them about this 2019 project and the day they started. It was disappointing, but a learning curve about life up north and patience to wait for quality work. During that 18 month wait, we ordered flooring, countertops, fixtures, and appliances. Our first estimate of cost from VanderBie Builders was 3 days before the project began. We would have appreciated a ball park figure earlier in the decision making. Ex: flooring and countertops. We researched those figures on our own time. This is a family business. All workers for VanderBie Builders and the contractors that entered our home were professional, courteous, friendly, dog lovers, and honest. We recommend VanderBie Builders and would call them again for future projects.

Jack and Ann VanderBie did a great job on the kitchen remodel of my seventy-year-old crooked/squeaky house, they ended up knocking out a wall and gave me a lot of much needed kitchen space. From the very start they keep me in the loop as to what was going on and when it would happen. What I really appreciated, in the beginning not knowing exactly what kind of cabinets and flooring I was looking for, they recommended vendors with showrooms, and before I went they had already called to let them know generally what I was looking for, that was priceless. As for the crew including the sub-contractors, all were very hard working and professional. I’m very happy with the results of this remodel, my kitchen and dining are beautiful along with the new flooring in the rest of the house.

We gave Jack and Ann a challenge: turn a 1946 log cabin into a home that could be used year around, double its size and retain the character. They came through with flying colors! We couldn't be happier. The job was done timely and within budget. We were kept informed of progress and the few subs used were attentive to Jack's instructions. We highly recommend Jack and Ann.
