Took over a year to do an addition had brick company delivered brick broke septic tank left me with broken septic that failed several inspections do not recommend hiring them have to constantly tell them to show up they will go weeks without any work being done

I have worked with many construction companies. By far Karma is the worst. They promise a lot and deliver none. They charge a lot and pay little to their subs. You can ask their subs how much they are paid for that work and check how much you paid. They charge a lot for materials. Check local stores for prices to know. If you are not good with numbers they will take advantage of you and rip off all your money. Beware of Karma construction group and its project managers.

Worst experience with a contract/construction company we have ever experienced. We have worked with a few DC area contractors and for the most part all have been great overall, but this was not the case with Karma. Please be aware of these people from start to finish it was a horrible experience and no parts were even ok. The use subs for all of their work, we had subs quit mid-work, and the overage charges it passed on to you. We over paid and by double the work performed in our home, was left with a complete mess (though the work was completed), we didn't get what was agreed upon and it took over 6mts. Needless to say we will NEVER work with these people and already in the works to have to ripe out the work they did and replace with another company. Don't do it to yourself....Run away now!

My experience with KHD across the organization was fantastic! They do what is agreed upon. They utilize technology at the office to make the client experience modern and efficient. They are professionals, accommodating, accountable, trustworthy, and, most importantly, did excellent work! Craig my project manager, who's customer service is stellar and has excellent communication skills, checked in with me at all times (phone/text and in-person). He made regular site visits; he knows how to lead his team and paid attention to all the details to make sure that the project was a success! Nafta, Leo, Darwin, and Ron executed the work like pros. They exceeded my expectations. They were great at the worksite: knowledgable, focused, efficient, action-oriented, and skillful. My only regret is, after a nightmare experience with another contractor, I wish I contacted them sooner. I would highly recommend KHD, and I am looking forward to working with them all on my next project!

We initially hired Karma Home Designs to install a new roof, replace our HVAC system, remodel our only full bathroom and do some small things like replace our water heater with a tankless, blow in insulation and replace a front door. The project did get finished but was a mess after the first week until everything was completed. The project (which required us to move into an apartment for the duration) took twice as long as scheduled and resulted in 4+ roof leaks and multiple ceilings replaced due to rushed work. At one point the project was delayed because the alcove that was built to hold the tub wasn't actually square so the tub couldn't fit and they had to order a new one. We eventually had to take some of the work off the schedule so we could be done with them. And don't even think the warranty will help you. We had to hire another roofing company to fix a leak in a skylight they installed after they blew off multiple appointments to come look at the issue and determine the best course of action.

I hired Karma to do an extensive, high end kitchen gut and remodel in my condo. They failed in every way imaginable to provide the management, design, quality of workmanship and materials outlined in my contract. This job was plagued by careless and stupid errors, sloppy workers who showed no respect or regard for my home or my property, endless delays and missteps, lack of effective communication, and poor to nonexistent financial management on the part of the contractor. As in, for example, my appliance deliveries were delayed over a week because despite my having paid for said appliances a month prior to the install date, Karma failed to pay the vendor. I consider hiring this contractor to be the single worst mistake I have ever made in my entire adult life (and that's saying a lot because I've made a lot of mistakes). I got zero value for over 100k spent, and there are still loose ends, defective products and damaged materials that Karma has not made good on despite numerous requests and withholding of final payment. They have also failed to respond to a complaint i filed with the Better Business Bureau. Do NOT even think about hiring this company. You'll deeply regret it if you do.

Sergei at Karma and his crew installed bathroom shut off valves (needed for rental property licence inspection), new vanity countertop and electrical/paint in my main closet. On the bathroom project was they were able to reuse my existing vanity, backsplash and hardware. Everything turned out solid, and Sergei provided good communication at every step. Will contact again for my next project.

To say that I highly recommend Karma Home Designs would be an understatement. Karma truly is the best in DC (and in the metro area)! Do yourself a favor and hire Jordan and his team! I recently bought a home in Alexandria, VA using a 203k loan. Originally, I went with a contractor that was recommended by my realtor, and he BAILED on me!! My realtor's referral left me high and dry, in the middle of the loan process, which put the purchase of my home in jeopardy. Then, after thorough searching, I found Karma - and they came in and saved the day- saved my new home! They picked up right where the previous contractor left off, with the lender's paperwork, and began renovating shortly after my 203k loan closed. Jordan and his team were/are extremely professional, have great communication skills (flexible communication via email, phone, text, and in-person), and are extremely trustworthy. I even left on vacation (for 2 weeks) while they continued the renovation process - and the work continued without a misstep. The materials used and finishes were wonderful - better than I ever expected. Karma completed a full kitchen remodel (complete with new appliances, quartz counter-tops, and lighting), converted a hall closet into a laundry closet (the old washer/dryer were in the kitchen), installed beautiful wood flooring throughout the house, and installed a new stair case (to match the new flooring). All completed on time and within a reasonable budget! The renovation process went so smoothly. There were a few hiccups, but Jordan and his team were so prompt and attentive which made for a virtually stress-free process. I am not an easy customer - I have very high expectations. Karma, by far, exceeded my expectations. In a strange way I am grateful that the previous contractor quit... it ended up being good karma for me. Stephen Alexandria, VA

I had the pleasure of working with Karma Home Designs recently, and I have to say, that it was a great experience. They were extremely professional, dedicated and knowledgeable about every question that I had. Not to mention, I never had to worry about any lack of response. Any question I had would immediately be answered, even after what I would consider to be "office hours." We wanted to redo our kitchen in Northern Virginia and get some other bathroom and basement home renovations done and they have made this process incredibly easy for me. Everything was carefully explained to me and finished right when they said it would be done. I can't recommend them enough!

I am very pleased to recommend Karma Home Designs. We worked with a contractor last fall to remove a few closets and had nothing but headaches. Karma helped us repair some of their blundered work, move the location of our office door, remodel our kitchen and replaced our carpeting with new floors. We worked directly with Kris and were very impressed with his commitment to the project. If there was ever something we weren't happy with (and we're particular), he would not stop until we were happy. For instance, we kept changing our minds with how many recess lights to install and where. They were understanding and made sure that we got exactly what we wanted. That says a lot. I'll also add that I was really impressed with Karma's staff. Their employees were very respectful and easy to work with. They also took extra care to clean the work area after they finished each day. I never felt uncomfortable with them their alone and overall was very impressed with their work.

I bought my DC house a year and a half ago and Karma has renovated my hardwood floors, tile floors, kitchen, and bar room. They've done everything from rewiring electrical work, to leveling out flooring, to salvaging an exposed brick wall. They've been friendly and easy to work with, and I have them already looking at doing some front-of-house renovations. I fully plan on using them as I continue to enovate my 100 year old row house!
