BEWARE! Breach of Contract Completely disappointed. As a teacher and single woman that knows nothing about roofing, Marquez Construction left my job undone to complete another job. My roof is leaking and my porch undone and other issues. They placed asphalt shingles on a flat roof. It’s leaking. They did not flash correctly. The work is shoddy, I was deceived. The roofing and wood work is below subpar as I have been told by other roofers. Marquez Construction also allowed two young boys to work on the project when I left for a family emergency. They too never returned leaving my porch wide open. The Louisiana permitting office has advised me of work that are not up to code. Permits were not pulled. The owner and his employees were and are deceptive with responses. The owner, Frederico Marquez throws blame on the people HE hired. He came out to meet with me and did not do anything just took a picture or two. Said he would follow up. He did not. I had to contact him. My correspondence had been with secretaries until I filed with BBB; Freddy did not answer my call when I called from my direct number to find out why he hadn’t followed up with me and a friend that told me a B.U.R. was needed. However, Freddy answered immediately when I called back immediately from a block number and later he hung up on me. Ironically Fressy was on site on another job, but he never visited my site during the process. I’d upload more pictures I’d j could. I’ve had other roofers look at the work and they agree that the work is FAR from quality work and roofing is the easiest thing to do... How can it go wrong? Flashing missing, not flushed I paid 17,800 for a roof that leaks, doesn’t have proper flashing, holes in bird boxes, exposed nails, and I completed work. The owner won’t own up to the role he played. Owner plays the victim. When I trusted this company to do the right thing. What a horrible experience even the permitting office is in awe and clearly stated that I was done wrong and codes not followed. I have two pages of them. I have filed with the Baton Rouge BBB, the Attorney General, and will be filing with the Louisiana Liscencing Board. I am in the process of contacting the local news station to make others aware and not be bamboozled like me. My checks were cashed and I was charged for services not needed and left undone amongst other things. Beware!! ! I visited sites they worked on, viewed pictures and expected more than what I received; and what I am left with is below substandard work. I DO NOT trust this company. Leadership starts from the top. Again, I do not trust this company and don’t want anyone to endure what I have and continue to endure. There’s more, this entire situation has and is causing me distress.
