Permabuilds

PermaBuilds recently completed a whole house renovation/remodel on our 100 year-old bungalow in N Arlington. We are very pleased with the final result. Brian Loch worked closely with us and our architect to ensure that the architectural design was implemented in an exacting manner. The project was delayed for several months mainly due to the weather, which we learned is not unusual. We found Brian easy to work with and responsive to our many concerns and calls. His own long-time hands-on experience in the trade enables him to supervise the subcontractors closely and hold them accountable when needed. Remodeling is stressful but we are glad we chose PermaBuilds to do the job.

We are very pleased with our project and how Permabuilds handled the construction. After a few years living in the house, we uncovered only a few items that Permabuilds needed to come back and address under the warranty program. We were happy with the overall project schedule and how the project progressed. Permabuilds finished the project about 4-6 weeks after our original date, however, we lost about 4 weeks due to inclement weather during the first few months of the project; in addition, we had some issues with the historical review board that governed our renovation. The construction costs that Permabuilds controlled stayed within budget. Overall, we were very pleased with the communication with Permabuilds throughout the project. Verbal communication was outstanding and since Permabuilds was a "one man shop", we knew that any written communication would often be slower.

Built a beautiful looking home but after we moved in and within weeks, months, and now over a year into our home continuous major problems. Brian never even finished warranty items. Very disappointed!

Brian Loch was the project manager for our extensive 2014 renovation of our 90 year old home. We found him to be an extremely professional, exacting, quality-conscious and courteous person to work with. Subsequently, we have hired PermaBuilds to perform additional post-renovation work on our house, mostly on projects - including HVAC improvements - that we originally did not include in the initial work for value-engineering reasons. PermaBuilds performed the work on-time, on-schedule, professionally, and with quality. In the intervening 18 months, zero defects have occurred on the work they performed. PermaBuilds' subcontractors were also courteous and professional, and it's clear that they all have a good working relationship with Brian. We give Brian and his team an unqualified recommendation, and plan to use PermaBuilds again in the future.
