My wife and I contracted with Platinum Construction LLC in March 2022 to perform a remodel of our 17-year-old, two-bedroom Upper Grand condo. We were fortunate to be able to move out for the duration of the work which, despite COVID logistics issues, sped up the process. We wanted a GC who was familiar with working in Hoboken and handling all that comes with that (permitting/inspections/lack of parking/working with condo management company). Communication and feedback with Marcello and Juan on project workflow were excellent. Technical issues which arose that required Change Orders were explained and options provided. Work included renovating kitchen, two bathrooms (including new heated floors), new wood floors, all new lighting, doors, HVAC system, home entertainment/internet system, custom buildouts in multiple rooms and painting. Platinum worked very well with our Interior Design firm in finalizing plans, coordinating deliveries etc. Marcello, Juan, and the other workers performed skilled work. This was our first ever renovation, so stress levels were up there. Marcello, Juan, and crew made it happen and got things done the right way, the first time. You get what you pay for, and you will not go wrong in hiring Platinum Construction.

We worked with Platinum on a large project, combining 2 apartments here in Hoboken. They are the BEST! True professionals that produce beautiful results. When faced with challenges there was always a solutions. We had a complicated plumbing situation (due to our building) and Marcello, did a significant amount of research and came up with a great solve. The craftsmanship is incredible, no detail is overlooked. You can't go wrong hiring Platinum, I highly recommend them!

The Platinum Construction team did an extensive renovation (kitchen, master bath, 2nd/3rd baths. designer moldings, flooring) in our luxury 1,750 sq ft unit, They worked well coordinating with the building management, recommended excellent subcontractors, and dealt with interior designers to complete the project on time and on budget. We have done several renovations so we had our expectations set realistically, given expected modifications along the way. We lived in the unit during construction and their team was able to provide us with a livable situation throughout the project. We absolutely love our completely redesigned unit!

Marcello and his Platinum Construction team were top quality. Marcello met with us to learn our ideas and vision for our renovation (full gut kitchen and new wood floors throughout entire condo). His proposal clearly explained exactly what would be done, the timeframe, cost, and when payments were due. He was very responsive when we had questions. We were fortunate and able to live elsewhere during the three months and the team finished exactly on time and exactly on budget! We had two issues outside of Marcello’s control-needed to move gas line for oven and change water set up for dishwasher (done incorrectly by original builder). Because of Marcello’s excellent relationship with our Condo Business Management Office, both we’re approved quickly so that the project did not incur a setback (300 + units in building and gas and water lines needed to be turned off for a day). We had to pack as if we were moving and the team moved all furniture and boxes as they did each room and they cleaned up each day. We LOVE our new kitchen and highly recommend Platinum Construction for your project (and our cabinets/countertops/hardware through Robert Smith at Hoboken Cabinetry and floors through Carlisle Wide Plank flooring). 5 stars!

They are simply the best and we highly-recommend them. Our project. We have a two bedroom, 1,260 square foot condo. Our renovation ended up including a total re-design and re-build of our kitchen, master bathroom, and guest bathroom. We also painted the entire condo and refinished the floors. From receiving the city permits (May 2018) to completing the major work (October 2018), it was basically a 5 month build phase. High quality work. We partnered with a designer on design, layout and most of the procurement of fixtures and finishes. The Platinum Construction team delivered perfectly on every aspect of our custom design. Marcello (GC) and Juan (Foreman) have a high-attention to detail and have a team that can deliver the quality you would expect for a custom, high-end renovation. Since we lived in our condo during the renovation, we saw every single element of the process so we were really able to observe how they planned the work, how they attended to the details – from plumbing, electrical to framing, dry walling and painting to custom tile work, installing the cabinets and fixtures… Everything was done in a meticulous and careful manner. We had significant tile work in the kitchen and both bathrooms and they did a wonderful job. We could not have asked for better execution of the design. Two things we really appreciated were 1) how they “helped” us to continue living in our condo during the renovation; 2) how they did their work in a respectful, thoughtful manner in our condo building. First, we basically lived in a construction zone for 5 months – which was our choice – however Juan and team did a good job of cleaning up every workday, storing materials, tools and boxes in a way that allowed us to move around and maintaining one working bathroom at all times; this allowed us to live in the place safely and with minimal dust. Also, throughout the project we asked our neighbors if they were at all disrupted by our renovation and to a person each neighbor said there was really minimal if any noise and that Juan and team were quite respectful while in the building. Wow! We really appreciated that our neighbors were not disrupted for basically 5 months of this major renovation. Big THANK YOU to the Platinum Construction team for conducting work in such a way to minimize disruption for us and our neighbors. Thoughtful Advisor. We had a lot to learn throughout the design and renovation process, from the activities and sequencing, realistic schedule and budget to choosing the right general contractor. Marcello was a good teacher and consultant on the process. His experience on many jobs in Hoboken, his understanding of the city and condo association needs and permit requirements really made many of the logistics very seamless. Whenever we did have to make a decision, Marcello brought options, discussed pros/cons and the costs transparently and provided thoughtful recommendations. He was responsive and prepared for all of our conversations. And we could tell that he communicated well with his team throughout the process so we did not have to re-explain or clarify anything once we were clear with Marcello. Collaborative and Trusted Partner. Platinum Construction is a relatively small company with a core team. And for us, that was a plus – we knew that we would be working directly with Marcello and Juan throughout the project. As we would learn during the process, some of the most valuable and incredible things than Marcello and Juan brought was their ownership and accountability throughout the renovation and how they collaborated and solved problems with our designers and other team members. Marcello and Juan really allowed us to focus on our day jobs; we never had to worry about coordinating between design and contractor teams, cabinet/countertop/everything deliveries, back-and-forth about measurements/plans/fixture placements. Platinum Construction took so much stress out of our lives by partnering so well with our designers and solving any and all problems collaboratively and proactively. We appreciated all of this so much. With our entire renovation team, we had so much trust that stuff was just getting done in the right way. Even with things on the final punch list, they worked with their subcontractors and vendors to get stuff fixed without question. We had a wonderful experience working with Platinum Construction and we highly-recommend them as your design partner. Firstly, I can't recommend Platinum Construction highly enough for any level of remodeling or renovation jobs you may be doing. We had a complicated job of renovating our entire 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom duplex apartment. Remodeling, or any kind of renovation, (whether big or small) can be very stressful- but having Marcello and his team as our contractor really helped alleviate the majority of our concerns. Even with the biggest hurdles Platinum Construction came through every time! The remodel took the demolition of the our entire 3 bedroom apartment down to the studs and put it all back together again with new floors, walls, bathrooms, kitchen, everything! Marcello helped source all of the new appliances and finishes through his vendors for the entire remodel which can be a handful if you haven't done it before. All the work performed throughout the remodel is of the highest standard and we enjoyed working with Marcello and all of his sub contractors. I also really appreciated how hard they all worked towards keeping the remodel on schedule and 'WITHIN OUR BUDGET'. I have worked with a number of other contractors and know when I'm working with someone who knows their business and takes genuine pride in the quality of the work they're doing- and that certainly describes Platinum Construction and the sub contractors he works with. When I had questions for him I could call or text and he responded quickly. We would hire Platinum Construction again. I was absolutely pleased with the work that was done.

We initially met Platinum through a recommendation from our interior designer to do built-ins and a fireplace but after an unfortunate water issue, we hired Platinum to renovate more than 75% of our residence. Platinum did a fabulous job building and/or managing the building of a new HVAC, water system, fireplace, custom built-ins, floors, stairs, closets, lighting, outdoor kitchen, laundry room, wainscoating, etc. There isn't a visitor that comes by that doesn't comment on the beauty and craftsmanship of our home. Marcello and his team are top notch when it comes to their work and customer service...you can't go wrong with Platinum!

We hired Marcello and Platinum for an overall update of our condo in a large building in Hoboken. The scope included the complete gut renovation of two bathrooms as well as upgrades to all other rooms. This included converting a tub into a walk-in shower, converting to wall-hung toilets, several built-ins, new doors and trim throughout, soundproofing the ceilings, and a fresh coat of paint. Marcello has assembled a great team and collection of sub-contractors to handle everything from very complex built-ins, to challenging tiling, to moving plumbing in a high-rise building. The crew handled electrical, plumbing, sprinklers, lighting, walls, ceilings, tiling, painting – you name it. Marcello, Juan, and team managed the many challenges of renovating in a large condo building well. They kept the building clean, the building staff happy (critical!), and coordinated with neighbors to minimize disturbances. It is clear that the team takes pride in their work as demonstrated by their attention to detail. The crew always wanted to make sure everything was done right and looked great. We are extremely pleased with the outcome of our project! While not looking to take on another renovation, we will certainly hire the Platinum crew if we do. We have happily recommended them to other owners in our building and as well as to friends!

We had a wonderful experience with Marcello and his team when we remodeled our kitchen. Marcello was very responsive to our questions, concerns and ideas either via email, phone or in person. His team set up a project plan outlining the phases of the project, budget and timeline - which was extremely helpful for us to keep track of all of the moving parts with our renovation. Given the complexity of our project, we were impressed how meticulous Marcello and his team was in the execution of our design. No detail was too small for this team and quality of work is among the best we’ve seen. We even received comments from other contractors how professional Marcello’s team was. My husband and I own a small townhouse and hired Marcello for an outdoor and gut kitchen and dining room remodel. These rooms are below street and garden level, so the crew had to dig 14' out the back yard to create a patio, level with the rear kitchen doors, and build steps the length of the house, all finished in blue stone. Since we would be living in the house during our renovation, this was the part of the project we dreaded, expecting intense drilling noise and dirt. Somehow Juan and the crew kept the noise level and inconvenience to a minimum; and they delivered a beautiful outdoor living space. On the indoor renovation, the demolition was done quickly and once reconstruction began, the crew worked together well, they were friendly, helping each other, etc. The crew were organized, tidy, and always polite and respectful of our privacy. Marcello told us he was proud of his team and as the work advanced we admired their skill. We met periodically with Marcello to discuss the project and progress; he notified us in advance of any pending water and electricity shutdowns. We did not want to be project managers on our renovation and trusted Marcello to handle the large as well as small details. He and Juan and the crew took charge. We love our finished kitchen; it exceeds our expectations. After our experience working with Platinum, we can recommend Marcello and his crew to bring professional high-quality craftsmanship to any project.
