Marvin is awesome to work with. He helped us fixed a missing truss (and ensured we got the permits for it, other contractors told us we didn't need a permit, but the county confirmed we did), properly installed the bathroom vents, installed shoe moldings, base boards, floors, fix a water leak issue, electrical issues. Hired this company to install ductless mini split systems based off recommendations from a relative. I raised concerns regarding the installation pictured and the response was "the location of the AHU is where we agreed, the refrigeration piping has to come in the left side and the condensate drain had to go outside. The units are working perfectly. They are going to touch up the drywall and remove the baseboard heat this morning and we ae finished."

Marvin and his team are very thorough and fair in their assessment and pricing. His work is just as thorough. We are out of town and can always count on Marvin and his team to take care of any request we have regarding our property. His team was responsible for assessing the source of water that had leaked into our basement and how to best fix the damages and discourage future leaks. Two years later, the basement still looks great and there have been no additional leaks. We have used Preferred General Contracting every time we've had a contracting requirement ever since. I've used Marvin and Preferred General Contracting several times. There is only one word for his staff and their work: Excellent! They are very careful around the house, tell you what they're doing along the way, and execute very well. We are so pleased.

My husband and I downsized our living space, moving from a large two story with a basement home on half an acre lot to a one level ranch on a "zero" lot line. We contracted with Preferred to enlarge the master bath which was too small for both of us to use at the same time. The bathroom was reconfigured into an expansive en suite. The quality of the work is of such high quality you would never know it was not original to the home. Preferred also installed some additional outlets in our hardwood living room floor, moved our garbage disposal from one side of our sink to the other side. Soon after, we needed a design for a patio to fit our small backyard. Mr. Goode designed a deck leading down to a beautiful stone patio. Installation was a real challenge based on the large rocks and boulders and extreme summer heat. These problems were dealt with by the crew who went on to create our little haven that we enjoy and are proud to relax on. Preferred General Contacting is one of a kind and we feel lucky to have worked with Mr. Goode.

When we decided to finish our basement we chose Preferred General Contracting and couldn’t be happier with the results. Marvin designed a floor plan that met all of our needs and made the best use of the available space. This included a large family room, an office/guest room, a full bath room, and a storage area. All of the crews who came to work on our project were Preferred General Contracting employees, not sub-contractors. They were polite, respectful and really knew their trades. Whether it was framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall or paint and trim work, the quality and craftsmanship that went into our project was always top notch. One of the building inspectors even commented to me on the way out that “it just doesn’t get any better than this”. Our new basement space looks great, we get compliments on it form everyone who visits. More importantly, we know that there is real quality construction behind it all. It makes us wish Preferred General Contracting had built the rest of our house as well. We will definitely use them again for future home improvements.
