REDDAN CONSTRUCTION LLC

Jeff Reddan and his crew did a fabulous job of updating our home. It was originally built as a family cabin in 1941. There had been smaller updates done by family over the years and we had a remodel done in 1992 adding on a half story, which basically changed the cabin into a home yet parts of it were still needing help. We were referred to Jeff by a neighbor who had a remodel done by Jeff and his crew on a home that was also originally built as a cabin. I had a really good feeling that we would succeed with our goal once we were given a tour of Deborah's home and saw the results of the remodel that they did for her. Our goal with this remodel was to meld the old with the new as much as possible. The remodel that Reddan Construction LLC did for us exceeded our expectations. The kitchen and utility/laundry area which was the one part of the house that was still looking and feeling (1940's newspaper for insulation in the walls) like a cabin, needed a long overdue update. A chimney for the original oil stove in the kitchen was removed and original knotty pine cabinets, walls and ceiling were removed. The exterior door was moved, the ceiling height was increased, and the sink was moved from one wall to another. We absolutely love the new overall layout which carries into the dining area where they exposed the original dark wood underneath a knotty pine ceiling (added as one of the family updates 30 + years ago). The original wood needed some love and that's what it got. We're thrilled with the outcome! The stain matches so perfectly. It takes me back to when I was a little girl in the cabin. A 2 person jacuzzi tub was removed in our primary bathroom allowing for a superb change in the layout and giving us a fabulous walk-in shower with his and hers shower heads. It feels like a hotel bathroom, yet it still gives us a beachy feel with the care that was given to the tile work. The knotty pine that was removed from the kitchen and dining areas was refinished to match the knotty pine that remains in the living room next to my grandfather's original plaster work around the fireplace. The saved reworked knotty pine was used to reframe all new windows and doors in the whole house and used as baseboards throughout, helping to meld the old with the new. Dan and his crew did an outstanding job with this. Dan was such a pleasure to have as the foreman on our project. His communication skills are excellent and his attention to detail in every way was so very much appreciated. There were many phases to this remodel. Dan and Jeff communicated clearly when unforeseen issues arose, as they can when a house was built that long ago as a beach cabin. They offered up various solutions to make sure that the overall project ended up how we envisioned it would, and they educated us along the way too. From the architects design to the total transformation of our home Jeff’s sub contractors were top notch in their professional trades. We especially enjoyed getting to know Chris, our project manager from his singing and humor to his exceptional knowledge, attention to detail, and his amazing carpentry skills. Jeff, Dan and entire crew are the most professional, diligent, and nice people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I hired Reddan Construction on the recommendation of a friend. I needed a contractor for a house remodel and face lift, to include adding square footage, reconfiguring some of the existing home, refinishing 75-100 year old wood flooring, painting and more. It was a BIG job (at least for me) and despite all the disruption to my daily life, Jeff and Dan worked hard to make the 6+ month process as painless and as professional as possible. Several of my neighbors commented to me that I “lucked out” because my contractors were at my house working full days M-F, when the contractors they hired were awol more often than not. I didn’t luck out, I chose the right contractor. I’ve recommended them to several people. The project came in as expected with the budget. I am very happy with both the quality of material used and work performed.

Highly professional, great communication throughout the project. Finished project is well constructed, tight and expertly finished. We had Jeff's team do a major remodel of an old barn and they turned it into a beautiful space for music and gatherings. After working with them we consider all of them to be friends - and this includes the subcontractors, and clearly Jeff only works with the best. This was a big project, and there are always anxieties about such things - but we always felt high levels of trust as we knew we were dealing with people who gave a damn about doing the right things and pleasing their customer.

Jeff and his crew did an amazing job replacing our wonky and ridiculously large deck with a beautiful and robust new one that will probably outlast us. They were always very communicative and professional throughout the process and their craftsmanship is top notch. They also did a great job of coordinating with other contractors we had on the project (like landscaping) to make sure that both projects would work together seamlessly.

Jeff and his team were fantastic to work with. Jeff was thoughtful in his approach to building, offering insight and advice that I knew I could trust. Jeff and his team took care of many aspects of the planning that I hadn't considered and walked me through the process so there was no surprises along the way.

Our deck and stairs are solid, with the hot tub deck a strange shape. The work is tight, with all the angles almost seamless. The stairs are monumental, extending four feet beyond the previous stairs. Fine carpentry throughout.
