RMI Remodeling

My husband and I hired this company to remodel our home on Capitol Hill- about 140K worth of remodeling. Randy, the owner and general contractor was not forthright with us about our project timeline and clearly took on more than he could handle as he was rarely present at the project site (once a week at best). Often, I would stop by to check on the work and no one was present working. I would tell Randy and he would not have a clue about it. His contractors drank on the job and left their empty cans in a trash heap in my yard (see photos), had picnics with their spouses on my front lawn and even called me directly. Randy and his son got into a verbal altercation with my neighbors. We tried to fire him more than once. We had numerous problems with the work itself too as things were not done that we expected, including Randy refusing to build a fence as we specified. He also submitted hte wrong permits to the city for the electrical work and we still have an electrical meter hanging off the front of our house months later. During this time, my husband was deployed overseas serving our country and I was treated with minimal respect by Niko- his business development manager and by Randy who called my husband and I disrespectful when we were not satisfied with his work. Recently, less than a year after the work, we have a catastrophic leak in the plumbing he installed which damaged drywall and the flooring in our basement. We have attempted to contact him, but he is ignoring us. Randy and his contractors are overpriced, unprofessional, and clearly do a shoddy job (see photos). I am shocked that anyone would recommend him on this website or any other.

I've been dealing with RMI Remodelling for the last five years and have always found them to be very friendly, professional and thorough when working on projects. They always bring something extra to the projects which differentiates them from many other Contractors.

Even though it was a relatively small project, RMI Remodeling did a superior job on redoing my balcony and making a closet out of some unused space in my condo. The workers were polite, showed up on time and cleaned up daily so that there was minimal disruption. I appreciated the rearranging of schedules to help meet our deadline when the main project manager had a family emergency. I would hire them again in a minute.

I have supplied bath, kitchen, and lighting fixtures on some of the projects that RMI Remodeling have been completing recently. Randy is always a pleasure to deal with. He goes the extra mile for his clients by ensuring that they get everything they need for the job the first time to cut down on delays and always strives to get the best deal on the products for his clients to cut down on costs. It is easy to see Randy truly cares about the work being completed and will make sure everything is done to perfection the first time!

We have had the pleasure of working with RMI Remodeling on several projects now and we are pleasantly surprised with the quality of their work and their attention to detail. It goes without saying that on top of their professionalism and high-quality work, RMI maintains a keen eye on customer care - they are very attentive to the needs and wants of their clients, and the feedback from homeowners confirms that. We look forward to many more projects together in the future.

Randy took over our kitchen rennovation project and we have been extremely pleased with his attention to detail, honesty, and consistent communication. He took the time to answer all of our questions and is such a pleasant, hard worker. You will be pleased with his work and can be assured that your project will turn out beautiful.

I hired Randy to complete some of the interior finishing work on our most recent renovation (trim, millwork, stair railing, hardwood floors) . Randy and his team did an excellent job. All the jobs were started and completed on time and the quality of the work was very good. Randy's attention to detail gave us a lot of confidence that we were in good hands.

Our family worked with Randy of RMI Remodeling on a front porch, irrigation system and landscaping project. His subcontractors were good and kept us on track. He is hard working, communicative, honest and friendly. Randy kept up with us about items that we could purchase on our own and when they needed to be installed and also gave us a credit towards items he could purchase at cost. We are very pleased with the renovation project and get compliments about it frequently. We will use him again for new work!

We hired Randy to put in our kitchen cabinets and we are so pleased that we did! He did an excellent job, paid attention to detail, and the quality of his work really shows. It was easy to get a hold of him and the job was completed in a timely manner. I would definitely hire him again to do any other remodeling work!

I have worked with Randy on a few projects and he is conscience of cost, quality and aesthetics. He is very involved in the building process and is determined to provide the best quality and value for his clients.

RMI remodeled 3 of our bathrooms in our house. We found Randy to be honest and knowledgeable. Randy worked with us from the beginning on our budget, and if an area was exceeding the budget, he would let us know. Randy's workers were on time and professional. We did have one small incidence of a disagreement on fit of a sink in one bathroom. Randy fixed the issue to our satisfaction. What really impressed me about Randy was that about a year after the project finished, we had problems with the tile being loose in one of the bathrooms. Randy send a worker to fix it. When this still didn't fix it, he sent a tile expert to come and assess and fix the problem. He really followed through on this issue, and we were really pleased.

Randy is trustworthy and knowledgeable. He is accessible and very enjoyable to work with. I especially appreciate that he cares deeply about the quality of his work.
