Schock Construction came to us after a nightmare experience with another company and contractor. After 10 months of stress and an unusable bathroom, Steve and his crew came in and completed our bathroom in a month and a half, over the Christmas holidays. We are so very grateful for their character, compassion, impeccable service and beautiful craftsmanship. Our new bathroom is just perfect! Thank you so much to everyone at Schock Construction who made our house a home again.

Our experience with Schock was fantastic! We began collecting estimates for the work we wanted (gut and renovate kitchen, master bath, and bathroom 2) in early 2021 and were immediately impressed when Schock arrived with Steve, owner, as well as design specialists and a project manager to view our project through their respective lenses. They left us with a wealth of information including practical timelines for completion and what we could expect professionally from Schock. A detailed estimate was provided and we moved forward with the work beginning in June 2021. Schock uses an app called BuilderTrend that allowed us to see a calendar detailing subs would be in the house when, the anticipated progrssion of work from start to finish, track the various selections for each room, and a schedule of payments as the work progressed to name a few components. Everything upfront, detailed, and updated as needed. A few words about the Schock team: Design - We worked closely with Whitley to update our 1980's split level. We had a definite look we wanted in the kitchen and needed to completely revision our master bath. Whitley took the time to listen to our sometimes at odds visions and help guide us towards to material choices and designs to maximize the space. The oversized penisula in the kitchen is a centerpiece of the room - great recommendation! Project Management - Elijah was our dedicated on-site project manager. On-site daily, our renovations would not have been possible without Elijah's dedication and craftsmanship. He provided daily updates about any changes (subs, materials, ect) and was always available by text to answer questions if not in th house. 5 stars to Elijah who kept our renovation moving forward and teaching us alot the various aspects of renovation. Subs - One of the important considerations we took into account when selecting Schock is that they work almost exclusively with the same subs (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting). I can count on one hand where we did not have some sort of activity happening for our renovation - impressive! Shout out to Chad (electrical) and Dean (plumbing) for their excellent work and professionalism. Steve and the Rest of the Schock Team - Communication is a valuable asset that Schock leveraged to keep us informed and involved all through the project. As the owner, Steve made regular stops to check on progress and was also always available by text. We appreciated his design ideas and the practical nature and advice concerning home renovations. No budget surprises and honest discussion about costs throughout the project. Shout out to Lisa, Michelle and Amanda for their contributions to our renovation and post-renovation follow up. We would highly recommend Schock. You are getting a full and dedicated professional team committed to involving you in the renovation process and ensuring the highest craftsmanship.

Wow! We could not be happier with our experience working with Schock Construction. Extremely professional from beginning to end. After 20 years in our home, my wife and I were ready for a master bathroom remodel. We obtained several quotes, but only Schock during the site visit really listened to what we were envisioning. On the spot, they helped us start to dream and visualize. From there, they were very careful about setting expectations in terms of project start date, duration and completion. During the period leading up to project start, their design staff worked with us on selecting products, materials, and colors--notably, helping to steer us in the right direction to keep us within our budget, but to also make selections that would have maximum functional and aesthetic impact (so glad we went with a firm with an in-house design team). But above all, the number one satisfaction element with this project was their site supervisor and project communication. We occupied our home during construction and the site supervisor did an amazing job of keeping us up to speed on when he would be on site, who the subcontractors would be on a day-by-day basis, project status/steps, and expectations. Finally, we had a couple of change orders that Schock was happy to seamlessly build into the project for us. Our project started when they said it would. Was delivered within the period they committed. Did not have overruns. And most importantly, unlike other projects we've had with other contractors, they FINISHED the job, then came back a couple of days later to make sure. Again, WOW! Schock is a high integrity firm. We worked with Schock to do a complete renovation of our kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The overall process was excellent from the initial meeting through to the completion. The Schock team was professional, courteous, and collaborative. At each stage of the renovation they provided us with clear guidance around timelines as well as options for our consideration concerning design. While no renovation is "fun" Schock made it as pleasant as possible for my family by ensuring that we had consistent on-site support to answer any questions or concerns we may have had. Overall - excellent experience with fantastic results. No hesitation in recommending Schock and will reach out to them again when we are ready to remodel our 2nd floor!

We loved working with Schock team and will work with them again on the next remodel. We have also recommended to our neighbors/friends and family. They did a quality job of our remodel. They made a potentially stressful project an enjoyable one and provided us with guidance and sound advice all through the project. Having thought about renovating for a long time, we decided to go ahead. Our initial contact with Schock construction started roughly when the covid lockdown began. Steve, Ashley, Doug, Lisa, Amanda, and Michelle met with us every few weeks and listened patiently to our remodel plan that was not yet concrete but scattered all over. They guided us with well-designed plans based on the functionality of our space and on how we envisioned using it. The meetings were scheduled ahead of time and went very smoothly. We had no idea how long the covid situation was going to be and the entire remodeling was done during the pandemic. Since the timeline for each job was accessible online, we could plan ahead and focus on packing, cleaning up which is the most stressful aspect of remodeling. Doug was on site every day and very accommodating. We did have to be prepared for things that came by surprise once demolition started. Steve and Doug always came up with very agreeable solutions. They followed the guidelines during the process by wearing masks at all times. If there was any known exposure, they took a break. The appliances that were ordered did not arrive on time, but they still completed their work as per the schedule. Our cooktop and dishwasher that was ordered in March 2021 were finally delivered just before Christmas due to supply chain issues. Doug helped us so that we could use the kitchen nevertheless. Budgets are always the hardest part of any large-scale remodeling project. Steve and the team guided us on how to be realistic about the scope of the work, the quality, and the finish. Michelle’s designs were tailor-made for us. Ashley and Amanda were instrumental in translating our style and preferences into a design that makes our home modern, beautiful, and inviting. Lisa is always prompt in answering all our questions. The entire team is friendly, communicates well within themselves which is evident in their execution and it has been a pleasure to have the Schock team redesign our home.

This past year I worked with Schock Construction to do a major remodel of my 38 year-old 2 story home. I found this company via Houzz by focusing on Design/Build firms, and couldn't be more pleased with the results both in quality and process! Steve Schock and his team were great at identifying what was important to me, listened well, translated my thoughts into great drawings, and follow-through was excellent. The project was delayed a couple of times due to COVID-19 restrictions, but once it got up and running everything stayed right on schedule. The schedule and budget were agreed upon prior to the start, and though the amount I spent was more than what I had originally imagined it would be, I felt the communication about what various aspects of the remodel would cost was very transparent, and I was able to say "yes" or "no" to each aspect will full understanding of what my answer would mean for the final result. The Designers, Project Coordinator, and On-site Manager were all wonderful to work with, and put me at ease early on in the project, and by the end I felt like they were "family," I appreciated the fact that the way the payment schedule was set up, I knew well ahead of time how much was due at each step. I would highly recommend Schock Construction if you are looking for excellent communication, transparency, and a quality end product. I love my "new" home!!

We bought a house that required massive rennovations of every part of the structure. This required replacing half the electrical wiring; installing all new outlets, switches & fixtures; all new plumbing connections & fixtures; ripping out and rebuilding the main staircase; replacing load bearing posts in the *center* of the house; resolved multiple sloping/slanting/unlevel floors by pouring a lightweight concrete floor throughout entire house; installed solid bamboo flooring, tile & carpet; beautiful tile pattern work in all bathrooms and kitchen; installed cabinets in kitchen, bathrooms & mudroom; extensive drywall repair, texturing & painting; and staining / finishing of new stairwell, doors & windows throughout house. This massive undertaking would not have been successful without Steve, Sean & Ashley - and the crews they brought in to do the work. They clearly communicated their plans and listened to our goals, design ideas & feedback. They showed up consistently and managed the subcontractors to ensure they finished the work before getting paid. Due to the complexity of work, Steve broke our project into smaller units of work and sequenced them into a logical progression. His experience defining and driving the overall process & schedule was essential because we were basically rebuilding the entire house in-place. The schedule & budget were discussed at each stage so there were no surprises. I highly recommend Schock Construction & will happily work with them again.

Steve and Ashely Schock along with Doug Cetina and the rest of Schock Construction have been great to work with. They are very good at answering questions and responding in a timely manner. If you get overwhelmed making decisions on design elements, they’ll offer helpful insights on the different options. My project started in the late spring, well after COVID-19 which complicated scheduling of work to be done by the various trades. That said, they were able to keep the majority of the major work done on the schedule that was initially created. Schock Construction did a very good job keeping to the estimate they initially came up with. This includes dealing with a couple of surprises which always happen in any major renovation work. I’m also impressed by how well the dust was managed and work areas were kept tidy. While it is physically impossible to prevent dust, especially when working with drywall, the amount of dust in the areas of my house I was living in during construction was quite low. Overall, the process has been quite smooth. A lot of planning went into my project and it showed when they executed the plan.

We did an extensive whole house remodel with Schock construction last year, and the results are fabulous. They transformed our older house into a beautiful space with a thoughtful contemporary design that balanced looks and utility. They worked on a tight schedule, customized the design to our needs, communicated well throughout especially when modifications were required to the plan, and took care of our house as if it were their own. We chose Schock construction due to them being a reputed local business, with great reviews for quality and on schedule delivery – a rarity in the construction business. The process was seamless, with virtually daily communication of progress, visual design reviews through a 3D software, and selections and budget as well as plan updates managed online. The entire team was very professional, detail oriented, and honest. The remodel was not inexpensive but it is true that you can only maximize on two of the following three aspects in any project: time, quality, and costs. Now that we are here, on the other side of the remodel, we are delighted to say that we made the right decision when we decided to work with Schock construction. We recommend them unreservedly.
