We hired SJ Carpentry after a major insurance claim that ended up being a six-figure project. Both our kitchen and bathrooms had to be completely gutted and rebuilt. It was a huge job, especially in an older home where new issues kept popping up once the walls were opened. From the beginning, Joe worked closely with our insurance company and really advocated for us. He made sure the scope of work reflected what was actually needed and pushed to get everything covered according to our policy. At the same time, he stayed within the insurance-approved budget. We really appreciated that. The project was complicated and there were inevitable delays, but communication was clear and consistent. We always knew what was happening and why. When new problems were discovered (which happens in old houses), he addressed them head-on and worked through the insurance process to make sure we weren’t left with any uncovered expenses. Most importantly, the quality of the work is excellent. The kitchen and bathrooms were completely rebuilt and look fantastic. Everything was done professionally and thoroughly. We’re grateful to have had a contractor who could manage both the construction side and the insurance side so well. I would absolutely recommend him, especially if you’re dealing with a complex insurance claim.

Joe was so patient and helpful – he walked through tile stores with me, discussed cabinetry options, and then, when it came time to do the work, discovered another set of problems that was there before him and fixed those too! I have an amazingly beautiful kitchen now with electrical outlets and lights that work – they didn't work so well before he came –thanks, Joe!
