As the architect on this project, I have been very impressed with Erik Smith and his team at Smith Pacific Construction. Erik runs his company with a high degree of professionalism, as seen in how consistently he responds in a timely way to calls and emails, as well as his rigor in creating estimates and invoices following CSI format. This is a level of responsiveness and rigor I have not seen with other residential contractors. The Smith Pacific team have been great collaborators on this project--frequently reaching out to be sure they understand my design intent, sketching through details together, and researching materials/fabrication methods to find the best solution at the best cost. Erik and his foreman, Carlos, take great pride in the craft of each detail and material transition, and they share my excitement as we see the design become realized. Erik and his crew were always professional and helpful. Thanks to their craftsmanship, the stonework in our garden is even more beautiful than we imagined it would be. They worked with varying sizes and shades of flagstone and created a visually arresting patio and walkway. Erik quickly responded to us by phone or text after we contacted him. He worked seamlessly with our landscape designer and his suggestions contributed greatly to the project. Erik Smith is one of the best contractors I have had the pleasure to work with. My house sits back on a windy hilly flag lot. The house sat too low, thus tons of soil needed to removed. Erik was there everyday, grading, calibrating, Being in Southern Ca, we don’t see much rain, but when we do, it’s guaranteed to be a lot. Drainage was a key item for this driveway so as not to back into my house. When the rain finally came, it was like watching a moving art piece; the drains and the balance of the pavers were an amazing sight as the rain flowed down the pipes perfectly. Not only did Erik design an exquisite driveway, he also managed a large remodel of the house as well. Erik is an outstanding communicator. No matter the time of day, he will ALWAYS get back if not by phone, by text. He’s got you covered."
