About Us

Based in Firestone, Colorado, we have serviced the northern front range with quality projects since 1990. We specialize primarily in the construction of custom decks, screened porches, and patio covers. We also build gazebos, pergolas, arbors and other outdoor structures. As no deck is complete without a few amenities, we offer many choices in railing options, built-in benches and low-voltage lighting. We take pride in our ability to create outdoor living areas that are functional, beautiful and built to last a lifetime. All of our projects are uniquely designed and built around our clients' needs, using the only the highest quality materials, workmanship, and a healthy dose of ingenuity. We has a large project and Square root did a very good job in completing it. All phases of the project including the concrete slab, the helix pier installation, obtaining the permits and city inspections, etc., were coordinate well and the quality of the work was very good. Squareroot was good to work with and kept us informed as to all phases of the project. The project met our schedule and was within our budget.

Squareroot built our 12'x16' sassafras deck in the fall of 2023. We hired Squareroot's because its cost proposal was competitive, and we'd seen a prior project. There were minimal and justified change orders. The craftsmanship was excellent. It was a somewhat challenging project, a deck built over a slab with an uncommon decking material, but Squareroot handled it with no problems. They showed up when they promised to, stayed on the job, and kept the site clean. Based on our experience, I would recommend Doug and Squareroot to anyone with a project of this kind.

Doug sat with us to draw up plans and make certain he knew what we wanted. No pressure to oversell. He and his crew were timely and neat and paid attention to detail that we had not considered, and we're glad he did. All this at a reasonable cost. We'd hire him again.

Doug built two multi-level decks at our house and repaired a small single level. The workmanship is excellent and the decks are extremely solid. The decks are complicated with stairs down to the ground and one surrounds a hot tub so the detail (including fitting sloping pipe rails into the vertical stanchions) was important.

Squareroot Construction was very flexible and offered many creative ideas. My deck is a source of pride. Squareroot stayed within my budget. This was a big deck approximately 40 feet long and 10 feet wide with three sets of stairs into the yard.
