Mike Jirik and his team at The Construction Coordinators, LLC (“CC Team”) did a fantastic job remodeling our home in Plymouth, Minnesota. The project was very comprehensive and involved the entire main floor of our home including a new kitchen, bathroom, living quarters, foyer, and stairs – and included new wood and tile floors, lighting, cabinetry, fireplace, and more. The CC Team from the designer to the contractors all provided quality workmanship and were very easy to work with. Further, the CC Team adhered to a strict schedule and completed work from demolition to the final walkthrough on schedule and all work was completed in two months, and on budget. We would highly recommend the CC Team for work on a home remodeling project!

Our home renovation was done professionally, on time, on budget and turned out better than we could have dreamed! I loved having a project plan laid out so I could know what was going on each day. Mike kept in close contact with us throughout the project and rolled with changes we made. He kept disruption to a minimum and set clear expectations on when we could access certain things (ex. kitchen sink). I couldn’t recommend TCC more. We are so impressed with the final product and the incredible management of the process.

Mike did our kitchen refresh. We did countertops and under cabinet lighting with a cabinet modification and new appliances. Mike is great to work with and very accommodating he kept everything right on schedule.

We were hesitant to start our owner suite remodel because we weren't sure what we wanted and we had heard about so many remodels that had gone wrong (delays, over budget, poor craftsmanship, etc). Our neighbor highly recommended Mike. After meeting with him, we knew he was the right fit for us. As a certified project manager (non-construction), I appreciated the detailed plan and budget that Mike put together. His communication was top notch throughout. Work was done when it was supposed to be done and was of the highest quality. All of the contractors were highly skilled and great to work with, just like Mike. We are very pleased with our remodel and will definitely call Mike when we are ready to start on our next project.

Mike and his team are wonderful! We remodeled our entire main level, including the kitchen. We were nervous about the project going over the estimated timeline since we have four teenagers and I work out of our home office. Several family and friends had gone through similar remodeling projects with other contractors, and they all took longer than expected. This was not the case with The Construction Coordinators. In fact, they finished a week ahead of schedule; even with a few changes I threw at them mid-project! We were always aware of who to expect at our home each day, and they always showed up on time and got the job done. We will certainly use Mike for future projects and would recommend his craftmanship and professionalism to anyone looking to update their home.

We have used Mike and his team for several projects. From a large, total house renovation to the most recent renovation, which was the Master bathroom and closet. We have had 3 projects done by Construction Coordinators, LLC. We did a whole demo of our upstairs and added a bathroom in 2020. We did a total remodel of our bathroom on first floor in 2021. We did a total addition, 15' x 20' and a deck in 2023. Working with Mike is a pleasure. His craftmanship is amazing. We are so happy working with Mike that we are now talking about an attached garage in 2026. We highly recommend Construction Coordinators they are true professionals.

We solicited four estimates before selecting The Construction Coordinators for our master bath remodel. Mike’s friendly nature and his confidence were two reasons we chose his company. He listened to what we envisioned and advised how it could work in our existing footprint. The work started on time. Any changes to the timeline were quickly communicated even if it was something as small as someone arriving later in the day then planned. We only had one delay in the installation process and that, too, was communicated as soon as it was discovered along with sincere apologies from all involved. It was also completed as quickly as possible. Each and everyone person assigned to our project was pleasant and treated us and our home with respect. What really stood out was the number of them that spoke so highly of Mike and his work methods and ethic. I honestly cannot speak ill of anyone from the crew. Our project actually came in slightly under budget. Mike presented us with a detailed breakdown of his estimate. It included a contingency line item that we, fortunately, didn’t need to tap into. His customer portal provides all the details and is a wonderful tool for a want-to-know-specifics type person like myself. We will definitely use The Construction Coordinators again!

Mike was very pleasant and helpful to work with. Even when we changed our design plans after having most things set in place he was still more than willing to help us finish our project. Once our project was started it was finished in a very timely manner. We would recommend Mike and use him again on our next projects.

We were newbies when it came to the task of finishing the 1900-sq-ft unfinished lower level of our home. Whom to trust? What to do? When to start? Our concerns were eliminated upon our first meeting with Mike. Best decision ever. Mike was professional, candid, knowledgeable, and honest, and his enthusiasm was contagious. His attention to detail was unsurpassed because carpentry is in his DNA. Consequently, as our project progressed he saw things that needed tweaking that we never saw. We implemented many of his creative and useful ideas, and are so glad we did. His pricing estimates were fair, his communications regular. Mike’s online project status system, which we fondly named “Hal” (you Sci-Fi readers will understand that reference), was a useful resource for status reports and messages. Since work on our project occurred during COVID, Mike helped ensure the safety of everyone involved to the best of his ability, providing face masks as needed and placing signs on outside entry doors that reiterated the CDC’s recommendations. His conscientiousness on this front was greatly appreciated. Mike was attuned to construction site cleanliness. He minimized the spreading of dust by placing plastic sheeting along the staircase to the upper level and providing a heavy-duty vacuum so workers could clean up the detritus of the day. We thank our lucky stars that we found Mike. We love our “new” lower level and highly recommend Mike and his expert team.

Mike at The Construction Coordinators did a great job on our garage entry remodel. I would highly recommend him for your project. Mike worked with me, patiently creating different iterations of a small but challenging space. We love the new space and it adds so much value to our home. The project was completed on time and within budget. I like the use of the app to track the schedule and updates to the project cost from estimated cost to actual cost of the materials selected. The job site was kept very tidy. The other contractors who worked on the project were equally friendly. This is the second project we've hired TCC and we have been very happy with the quality and craftsmanship both times.

Mike was fantastic to work with, and delivered exactly what he promised, ahead of schedule. We were looking at a full first floor remodel, and two bathroom updates upstairs. The bathroom updates were particularly tricky, as we were trying to turn a single vanity into a double vanity in one bathroom and the size of the existing bathroom made it impossible. We got several quotes and opinions, ranging from outright "that's impossible" to some dramatic and costly that involved moving the entire hallway over, losing a bedroom, etc. Mike's solution was both simple and cost effective, turning an existing linen closet into more bathroom space, moving the toilet, and extending the vanity. Then carving out a new shallow linen closet by shrinking the guest bedroom just a bit. That is a specific example of Mike's MO: practicality while working within the budget he was given. He didn't try to make us spend more than we wanted, and was always upfront and honest about places where we might be able to save some money, and others where we shouldn't without compromising quality. He also dealt with several change of plans mid project (we added built in cabinets, a mudroom built in locker, and a custom desk for the newly remade office) without losing the timeline. He dealt with all of the back and forth with a good natured approach, was easily accessible via phone or text, and always kept us up to speed on what was happening when so we could plan around particularly disruptive times. We will definitely use Mike for our next remodel (basement is up next, Mike, clear your schedule!)

Mike put in a fireplace and wall bar for us and we LOVE it! He is very professional to work with and has great communication skills and attention to detail. He replaced our deck last summer and we were so happy with his work we called him back for our latest project. We highly recommend him!

Selecting the right contractor may be the most important step in any home remodel project. In early 2017, when I saw a friend’s remodeled kitchen, we inquired who did the work and learned about Mike and his Construction Coordinators business. However my friend was so happy with his kitchen, he contracted Mike to do an addition. And another mutual friend did the same before me. Mike explained he was booked solid; and we explained we would wait until he could do the job. Mike’s on line project management system works well, even for an old guy like me. Mike set a realistic budget for each line item, and I particularly appreciated that the actual amounts, plus and minus, would fall into place against the original budget. And since he does not charge special fees for “change orders”, decisions could be made as the project went on so ongoing changes (enhancements or simply changing our mind) could be incorporated, with cost impact understood and transparent. We wanted a very upscale kitchen without paying a fortune. My wife designed it. We ended up with something superior to anything we saw in any high end model home, including the $1 million priced homes we toured on Parade of Homes and Remodelers tours. Mike uses sub-contractors who have worked with him a longtime, it was obvious from the friendships and camaraderie. They delivered quality work and were not happy until we were happy. What we did not get was any of the arrogance we sensed from others in the industry, from some of the designers and builders we spoke to before we found Mike. Remodeling is painful no matter what, just due to the demolition and time required to complete the job. Our major demo was August 21 and target date of Oct 7 to complete, which is a long time to live without a working kitchen. It was worth it, both ttime and money. Thanks Mike! Bill & Chris

We did a complete remodel of our kitchen, partial living room, all windows and flooring. From day one they were amazing to work with, right till the end of our project. We didn't worry about about anything that was coming next because it was clearly explained and all questions were answered. All of the subcontractors were great as well! I kinda missed them all after everything was said and done. It was nice not having to live out of the basement any more but it was sure nice having their personalities here. Great company, with great subs!

Mike is so easy to work! Our kitchen and bath remodels turned out great and even with some last minute change requests the job was done on time as promised. We will have some additional projects in the future and will definitely be working with him again!

Our experience with Mike and the The Constructions Coordinators was exceptional. Mike is professional, easy to work with, and his attention to detail is literally second-to-none. The project website system is really nifty and helped tremendously in client-to-contractor communication. He was responsive to all of our concerns and even made suggestions on how to save money. ****At the end of our project. Mike let us know the painting portion of our project cost less than he projected, so our final bill was lowered $1800. We would not have known the difference either way, and that level of honesty speaks volumes!****

We worked with Mike while Betsy and I lived 280 miles away in Iowa. We occasionally stopped by to monitor progress and Mike made it a point to meet with us to go over any questions that we had. The quality of the work was excellent and the budget was maintained. We plan to use Mike for any future work inside and outside of our recently purchased home.

I would totally recommend working with Mike and his team for your remodel needs! We are SO happy with how our master bath remodel turned out! A designer is available to assist you however, it would be most helpful if you have some ideas of what YOU want and like. Mike has a portal so you are always aware of what's happening when and monitor the costs. His estimate is realistic, however, your selections obviously will impact this. Everything was done timely, and everyone was so professional, courteous and, best of all, very neat and tidy!

We had lived in our current house about 7 years with an unfinished basement. We called Mike with TCC and he came over and went through everything about this project with us. We knew nothing, but Mike did a thorough job of explaining things to us. The "open book" method was very helpful in tracking expenses and making decisions that would affect the project. The contractors that worked on the project were all respectful and did great work. Mike did a great job answering our questions in a timely fashion as the project went along. The basement looks great and we love how it turned out. I'd definitely hire TCC again in the future if a project comes up.

Mike and his crew at The Construction Coordinators were great in regards to our bathroom renovation project. It was the perfect medium in terms of budget and providing us flexibility with materials and design options. Original Bathroom - Our bathroom consisted of a small shower (~3x3) with a jacuzzi tub in the main bathroom area, we had a separate toilet room (~3x8) and a "walk-in" closet (~3x8) that was hardly as such. Our plan was to remove the tub, extend the shower, relocate the toilet, and make a large walk-in closet. Contractor Selection - This was a tough part for us. My wife and I start spanning the countless contractors online. TCC made the initial screen of 5 companies that we were going to consider. But then we went to the Minneapolis Home and Garden Show and I believe 3 of the 5 contractors were present. We met with all 3 contractors (not Mike at the time) to have them quote the project and they all came in way over our budget. Then my co-worker had used Mike in the past, so we gave him a call. Mike listened to what we had wanted and was able to put together a budget estimate that was within our plan (and well below the competitors). Design-Build v. General Contractor Misconceptions - I went into this project wanting a design-build firm because I didn't want to manage multiple subs. This resulted in pricing being significantly higher than anticipated. In reality, I had a pretty solid design put together in simple, free program called Home.By.Me. Mike saw this and told me the design was basically done and he could work with what I have already developed saving us big in the long run. Mike does include some time with an interior designer as part of the fee to help with materials selections and such, so that is an added benefit. Budget Process - Mike runs an open book. He sets his management fee up front and everything else is based on material costs. Mike is pretty conservative in the estimates as well, so there was plenty of room to come in under budget. We splurged a bit on some higher end Kohler fixtures that Mike was able to source at a better discount than the Kohler Store. We were able to save big on the tile selection; I think we doubled the amount of tile used and still came in under the tile budget. Scheduling - Mike does great with scheduling and communication. While he can be working on multiple projects simultaneously, he seems to stagger them well where you always get full service as a customer. The design-build firms were quoting us 8-12 weeks for the project where Mike was giving us ~6 weeks overall with only 3-4 weeks with the bathroom out of service. What would I do differently - I should have installed heated floors. Mike did his best to tell us how great they would be in the winter...I was ignorant to brutalities of a Minnesota Winter at the time we made that decision. Definitely should have chosen to install them. Last Remarks - The design-build contractors told us we were crazy for removing the tub (we do have another in the 2nd bathroom) and not putting a door on our shower. When we presented the concept to Mike, he respectfully challenged our thought process to make sure it was what we had wanted and proceeded with the design when he had that confirmation. At the end of the day, we have an amazing bathroom and shower concept. I have come to realize when we sell our unit...I don't want to sell to the person that wants a second bathtub...I want to sell to the person that cannot live without the amazing master bath that Mike created.

Mike, the owner of The Constructions Coordinators, was a joy to work with. During the on site estimate visit he took detailed notes, offered practical suggestions, went over in great detail how the timeline of the project and his style of communication. Our detailed estimate included drawings, an estimate with complete breakdown of costs and a timeline for completion. After choosing Mike as our contractor we were given access to his online website which allows the 2 parties to communicate regarding any aspect of the job. Costs are clearly shown and any credits are quickly posted on the website. Mike's subs were punctual, efficient and cleaned up fully after their work. Mike's background as a trim carpenter served our project well. His attention to detail was outstanding and he was able to exactly replicate our requests into physical form. He's not just knowledgeable regarding carpentry work however. He knew enough about electrical, tilework and HVAC to offer practical suggestions to save us money. We look forward to having Mike back to complete future projects.

Any time we emailed him or left a message on his project tracking app, he would respond - often within minutes. Another important factor for us was to get the project done within a tight time frame, and Mike did just that, sticking to his original schedule from start to finish. Excellent workmanship. Well run company! If you are planning a remodel always expect the unexpected. Mike deals with changes with a very level headed approach. His subcontractors are all fantastic to work with. We did a large master suite bathroom remodel that was high end and complex requiring a cantilever. We plan on having Mike do our entire upstairs remodel this year. Our home was built in 1997 and we have all golden oak woodwork. Planning on a complete update. His pricing is fair and his program keeps you updated through the construction process. It would be a mistake not to hire him. We have referred him to friends and one of them did a complete kitchen remodel. They were also very pleased.

After getting bids from a couple other companies, we had Mike in to bid our basement finishing job. Not only was his bid the MOST reasonable we had received, Mike was very clear about what each part of the project would cost and how each part of our plan impacted the project. With his online communication tool, Mike communicated with us daily about what was happening with our job, what he needed from us, and how the cost of the project was changing based on work done. If our carpet cost less than what was allowed, we saw that credit in the on-going budget sheet. Another feature I appreciated was Mike's inclusion of a designer in the project. She met with us to pick paint, carpet, brick, and flooring to ensure that our basement came together as expected.
