Timeline Contractors

My experience with Shane and Timeline was terrible. It began with a phone call to Shane trying to clarify what I was signing and getting for the amount listed on the E-mail. Lump sum or hourly. (both exceeding the rate of the others we checked out) The people we did decide to use charged us 500.00$ for a few designs, and meeting within a reasonable time. (unlike "Timeline", which after not hearing from after 50 days we had to proactively call several times to see any results) Eventually, after seeing and getting some renderings in an e-mail and waiting for some pricing (which we never got due to the length of time it was taking) it was apparent we needed another contractor. Upon informing Timeline of our decision, a few weeks later we were hit with another bill for 1350.00$. Because we had decided to go hourly, which now I'm informed that it took the designer 20 hours to produce 2 different renderings, we are responsible for the additional 1350.00$ which was language buried in the document I signed. I still can't figure out what the original 650.00$ was for that we paid upon signing the document because nothing else was done after the design work was presented. I didn't want to pay the additional 1350.00$ for nothing done but was threatened with a lien against my house. I feel misled and taken advantage of.

Working with Shane and the Timeline contractors team has been a refreshing change from the typical general contractors. They source the best subcontractors and always have someone on site when any subs are present. They do what they say at every step of the project. We have a late 1800s home and they handled everything from permitting to execution.
