We had a great experience working with Torres Construction, in partnership with Beyond the Box Interiors for design services, to complete a kitchen renovation for our condo in downtown DC. Lanna from BtB was very responsive, kept in communication with us throughout the process, and handled so many details and negotiations behind the scenes for us, making our lives much easier. When it came time for construction, Arturo and his team from Torres Construction was excellent, reliable, and always respectful of our building's policies. The quality of the work met all of our expectations. While the project did encounter some unexpected obstacles, we could trust that Lanna and Arturo would work together to resolve them. Having worked with other contractors on other projects in this region, we can say that the Torres team were so much more reliable, trustworthy, and easier to work with. We are thrilled with the final product!

I called 5 different plumber/remodelers to help me fix a leaky bathroom/washroom problem. Guess what? Torres Construction is the only group who called me back. Jose called me and asked thorough questions about my problems. He visited my house to assess the main issue. Then scheduled his crew to come out and do exactly what he told me they'd do. They arrived a few minutes early at a scheduled time. They didn't give a 2 hour window of when they'd arrive - So I didn't waste my time waiting. They determined the source of the problem and made a plan to fix it with my approval. I was expecting to have to tear apart my bathroom but Jose and his team carefully took apart my tub made repairs and reinstalled without have to rebuild or retile or any major reconstruction. I am very thankful for Jose and his honesty and great pricing. I trusted him so much that I had him do a few other plumbing repairs while there and his team did so graciously. Thank you Jose and Team!

We recently hired Torres construction to complete a large remodel of our home, including complete kitchen reno, opening up the main floor, powder room, laundry room, stairwell, a basement egress window, and multiple other adjacent projects. One of the reasons I hired Jose was because, even from the initial consultation and estimate, Jose asked questions and provided insights that showed that he was really thinking about details of the project that I would need to or might want to consider. He showed that same level of diligence throughout the project, being able to cover everything from big picture items of ensuring that the project was conducted on time and under budget, and also able to dive into details, like making sure brick was pointed up to perfection, and therefore not being able to tell that any repairs were done. His team, primarily Arturo and Milton, were very skilled craftsmen who were knowledgeable, respectful, friendly, and efficient. I particularly appreciated their determination in fixing any unforeseen matters. As always happens during construction, things don't fit the way you expect, or nothing is ever as easy as it seems; but rather than throwing their hands up and saying it couldn't be done, or coming back with a change order, they always found a way. Jose and his team went the extra mile in every step of the project, and even threw in some special surprises (at his cost). I would recommend Jose, and would certainly hire him again for another project.

If you had asked me before my project what I would want in a dream contractor, and compare it to how I would now describe my experience with Jose and his company, you wouldn't even be able to tell any difference between the descriptions. Not only is Jose very knowledgeable, conscientious, and meticulous in his team's work, but he is also passionate, responsive, and considerate through the entire process. I live in a high-rise condo building with many rules and restrictions, and it was a real challenge finding a contractor whom I would trust to adhere to these requirements, and who was willing to endure these restrictions throughout the entire project, so it was a huge blessing when I got a glowing recommendation for Jose from my previous downstairs neighbor. Getting the approval from my condo board was a long process but Jose quickly provided everything I needed, and was patient and flexible in accommodating my busy schedule. Once his team started working, they showed up and made progress every single day until the project was complete. Arturo, Milton, and Wilson did all of the work in my home, and I cannot say enough positive things about them - they were upbeat, hard-working, and responded to any concerns I had with genuine care. They paid attention to every detail, both in the finished product and in the entire process, and treated my home as if it was their own. I was impressed with how much energy they brought every single day. I made a lot of little changes and additions throughout the project, and Jose did not sweat any of it. Instead, he and his team made helpful recommendations that made the difference between a good renovation project and an amazing one, and the price for all of the additional elements was very reasonable, especially considering the amount of time and effort the team put into it. Since the completion of my project, I have had numerous friends and neighbors come by and comment on how amazing everything looks. I could not be more satisfied!

Jose Torres and his team did a first rate job remodeling our bathroom. They were on time, reliable, and flexible with regard to doing things to accommodate us as the project progressed. All of the work was accomplished efficiently, professionally and neatly. They made a minimum of mess and cleaned up daily. Trash was removed immediately after demolition. We are happy with our new bathroom which was renovated within our budget.

Jose and his team did the work we requested on our home on time, on budget and with an excellent attitude. They were able to do a wide range of work for us. They got everything done in the tight time frame we had to work with and the charges for their work were reasonable. We would definitely choose Jose again for another work project.

March 31, 2017 Jose Torres and his expert staff just finished remodeling my 3 bedroom/2 bath home. They came highly recommended to me by a very good friend and former boss. I gotta say, these guys did a FABULOUS job. They followed everything on their quote, which we had agreed to previously, and when something came up that was not on the quote, Jose was available to talk about it and discuss pricing. They were always willing to go the extra mile, very personable and extremely professional. Very fair and competitive in their pricing, very honest and upfront. They were dependable, on time, talented and cleaned up after themselves - they were the best at everything they did! They painted, replaced our hot water heater, replaced door knobs, installed light fixtures, installed closet doors on tracks, caulked around tile. I'm telling you, no job to small or large. If you need it done, stop looking and HIRE these guys!

Not only did Torres Construction do a great job in repairing water damage to my late brother's house (as well as other renovations), but they did it on a very tight timeline and within a reasonable budget. I was very pleased with the results and was glad to pay them.

Jose and his crew are just wonderful; I can't say enough good things. I started working with Torres Construction about 8 years ago, when i was single, living in a condo and wanted to gut and renovate my kitchen and bath. They came in under budget (and much more affordable than the 13 other firms that I interviewed) and, as a soon learned, their quality of work, professionalism, and time management are unparalleled. Flash forward to 2016 and my husband and I hired Torres Construction to renovate our 1960s townhouse in Bethesda, including a complete gut to our kitchen, mater bath, and a variety of misc items throughout the house (ceiling fans, house panting to the interior and exterior, rebuilding of a deck/balcony, dry wall, etc.) Once again Jose's crew was wonderful to work with. I didn't hesitate to leave them alone, with a key, in our house for weeks at a time. They made fast friends with my dog and even fixed a few squeaky door handles and broken items throughout the house (that I had been hoping my hubby would do) that were outside the scope of the project, just b/c they were troubling and clearly needed fixing. You name it, large or small, and TC can do it, and it will be on-time and on-budget. And they won't rest until you are satisfied. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone for any type of project, large or small.

In 2004, Mr. Torres installed a new bathroom in my house. In 2016, he successfully completed a number of smaller projects at my house. The work was always done on time and within the cost estimate. It is very easy to communicate with Mr. Torres on details of the work. I would hire Torres Construction again, whenever I need a project done. It is a pleasure working with the company.

We hired Torres Construction based on the recommendation of a good friend, an architect. We met with Mr Torres, explained what we wanted done, agreed on the cost and schedule, and let him get his materials and team. We began by asking for several smaller jobs be done first. Everything we wanted done was completed on time, for the estimated price, and completely professionally. Even when we asked for "extras", the Torres team accomplished all tasks quickly. Everything they build is solid and complete. We have already recommended them to friends in need of a good contractor. We look forward to having them work on the big project we have planned later this year. We definitely recommend Torres Construction.
