We love, love, love our new master bathroom! Almega (Jeff, Laura, Tristan, Cassi) did such a fantastic job! We knew we wanted a walk-in shower with no door and a soaker tub, but we had no vision or plans. Almega presented us with multiple plans that were way beyond what we could have imagined. They then helped with picking out the tiles, boarder and accents, and we couldn't be more pleased. The work was very professional, detailed and exact. The only problem/delay was due to a flaw in the shower glass (chipped), but that was immediately reordered. Our bathroom is like a spa (no kidding), and we couldn't be happier--so thrilled with the results. We highly recommend Almega! They are very professional, helpful with ideas and plans, and the work they do is amazing!!!

We hired this company to finish our basement. It was a very frustrating experience. Here are some of the frustrations we dealt with. We hired this company to install a new AC unit and furnace while we waited for them to begin the basement. It was brought to our attention after the installation that we could receive a rebate from our electric company for the new units. We asked for a receipt for the units so that we could present it to the electric company. We were informed by the contractor that they had already redeemed the rebate and gave us credit for it when they invoiced us. We checked the invoice and there was no line item demonstrating a credit. They had made no mention of the rebate and could not show us where we were provided credit. The original plans called for pocket doors to be installed for one of the bedrooms. We were told that the electrician ran cable/wire where the doors were supposed to go. This seems like a situation where the contractor would tell the electrician to fix it. They did not. Instead, they said that we would have to do a barn door. Rather than installing a barn door they put up two plastic, hollow doors with hanging hardware. These are regular, hollow core doors. We received no credit for the compromise. They had to reroute the exhaust pipe for the dryer vent through the utility room and into the attic. When they explained what it would look like we were told the pipe would be boxed in and painted where it ran through the utility room. See picture. They incorrectly installed the subway tile in the shower. We had this fact confirmed by the tile manufacturer and an independent certified tile professional. We had to argue with the contractor in order to get it redone. When they did redo it they made us pay for the tile. This was a fixed rate bid. The shower was designed to have doors. Specifically, it was to have glass doors. These doors were leaning against the wall in the basement. On the day of the inspection the contractor removed the doors prior to the inspector arriving. The contractor stated he removed them from the premises. He said we had not paid for the doors. Since this is a fixed rate bid and the shower design required doors, we definitely did own the doors. The contractor stated that a shower curtain was insufficient for the design of the shower. They installed a curtain rod for the inspection. Our marble slab was broken in two and concealed with caulk. We were not notified of this. We were given no opportunity to choose whether or not we approved. As the caulk continues to dry it becomes more and more obvious that the slab is broken. The centerpiece of the project was broken and this fact was concealed from us. They dumped their excess grout into our window well in order to dispose of it. This is a hardened mass of grout. It is now a permanent part of our window well that keeps it from properly draining in the event of heavy precipitation. This is vandalism. Prior to the inspection the contractor was supposed to be finishing some of the odds and ends. When my wife came down to find the contractor, his son, and his daughter sitting on our couch she asked them to leave. This blatant disregard for the project along with the fact that they were removing materials from the premises was the breaking point. My wife told them to wait in their vehicle. An incident occurred where the contractor’s son was repeatedly asked to leave the premises during the inspection. He refused repeatedly. It was not until my wife and her friend threatened to call the police that he finally relented. This is a grown man we are talking about. If my wife had been in this situation alone it would have been at the very least a terrifying experience. A woman asked a man to leave her house and he said no. I was out of town for this. At this point we no longer feel safe having these people in our house with my wife while I am away.

We contracted with Almega in January of 2018 to perform a renovation of our main level. This included new tile flooring, relocation of gas and water for our kitchen and bathroom, installation of recessed lighting, and relocation of our laundry room. Additionally, we contracted to have cabinets built and installed along with installation of a new quartz counter top. Almega offered competitive pricing for this work and actually came in lower than other contractors that we had interviewed. The dedication to their business and commitment to the client became apparent in the initial appointments to discuss what we wanted in our kitchen. They also worked with us to enable us to perform the demo ourselves, in an effort to help us manage the costs. Although this could’ve posed scheduling challenges, Jeff and Laura communicated the next steps needed from us (with respect to demo work) to keep our project on schedule. To summarize our experience, we highly recommend Jeff and Laura because of the pride that they take in their work. Jeff and Laura follow through on their word and highly value the relationships that they build with their customers. They projected our renovation to take 8-12 weeks and stayed on this timeline with the major milestones. They understood the inconvenience posed by not having a kitchen and worked to minimize the impact to our daily lives. Jeff and Laura strived to make sure that we were happy with the progress and provided daily updates. I encourage you to listen to their advice and suggestions because they are very knowledgeable about design and functionality. They offered suggestions that I wouldn’t have come up with and really created a space that fits our lives. We were very happy with the customer service that Jeff & Laura provided and continue to be satisfied in their commitment to stand behind their work.

The first thing you notice is how much they really care and how much pride they take in their work. From start to finish, they kept us regularly in the loop (daily text messages!) and if the schedule changed, they always made up for lost time. They finished ahead of schedule - which was huge for us with a new baby on the way - and we really did feel like they were a part of our family. Incredibly prompt, clean, and professional, we love the work they did and would use them again in a heartbeat for any future work.

After extensive research, I chose Almega Creative Builders to do home renovations. I found their communication and professionalism to be the key in making this decision. Jeff and Laura would always respond promptly during the planning and renovating stage. We had heated natural looking wood tile installed throughout our first floor. Work performed by Almega Creative Builders also included a laundry room renovation, front door replacement and master bedroom to bath door installation as well as other smaller home improvements. It was evident that Alma takes PRIDE in their work, and customer satisfaction is paramount. I admit I didn't choose the lowest price provider. I went for high quality and I am extremely satisfied with their work.. I look forward to working with them again!

We are really pleased with the remodel in our home by Almega Creative Builders, Inc. They turned our teenager's crowded bedroom and the adjacent playroom into a roomier bedroom with a large designer closet and private bathroom and a separate laundry room. The results are beautiful. Jeffrey and Laura are professional and personable; always responsive to concerns, questions, ideas and challenges. While it's never easy to go through a remodel, Jeffrey always left his work areas as tidy as possible. I recommend that anyone considering hiring this company do so with confidence.

Jeff and Laura did a great job on a large remodel/addition. Jeff stuck to his estimates and made it clear when a decision was made that changed those estimates. He went out of his way to try to use supplies on hand and the end result was very professional looking. The house is warm and tight and exactly what we were hoping for.
