Centrix Building Group

We purchased a property on the Grand River in Centre Wellington and were fortunate enough to entrust Seth Wyga and the Centrix Building Group team to build us a custom home. Seth played a key role in this project from day one. While reviewing the preliminary drawings, he was instrumental in making suggestions that improved the final layout/design and provided us with cost saving recommendations. The entire build took 10 months - the time frame that was communicated from the start. Despite building during the Covid pandemic and with building supplies rising sharply, Seth did everything possible to keep us on budget and informed of every and all prices changes from the original estimate. In the end we went over budget but the vast majority of the overage was due to decisions and choices that we made mid-build. We found Seth to be very personable, responsive and a great communicator throughout the build. He also surrounded himself with great sub-trades ... all of which we found to be professional, skilled at what they did and available to answer our many questions. It was a pleasure dealing with all of them. In addition, Seth personally put us in-touch with a number of great companies that contributed to the home we love today … cabinet makers, in-home designer, landscaper and appliance sales. We undertook a significant renovation of an 1880s historic house with Seth Wyga and Centrix, which included underpinning the existing house with a proper foundation and basement (the original foundation was rubble), and building a two-story addition at the back of the house. Working with Seth and Centrix was an excellent experience, and we give them our highest-possible recommendation. Centrix and Seth have the technical skills, knowledge and experience to undertake such a major renovation. Equally important, is that Seth is an excellent communicator. He always ensured that we understood clearly every step of the process and the build. He also made sure that he understood us: our questions, our concerns, and our vision for the project. It was very much a collaborative process, and the quality of Seth's insight and input ensured that everything unfolded in the best possible way. Working with Seth was like working with a trusted friend. All of the Centrix staff, as well as the trades and sub-trades, who worked on the site were professional and cared about the integrity of our house. The quality of workmanship was exceptional. The project budget provided to us before the actual work began was realistic, and adhered to during the build. The monthly invoicing was clear, and showed how the project was progressing with respect to the budget. We would happily work with Seth and Centrix again, and have already recommended them to friends and family.

Centrix did a reno of our kitchen and built some outdoor decks for us. The pandemic was called about halfway through. They were very patient while we decided how to approach the situation and managed to finish the job in a safe manner. Always professional and thoughtful in their approach. We bought an unfinished new-build, and hired Centrix to complete the job. We were living a flight away, and hired Centrix because we had friends who had worked with them before and were very happy. On time. On budget. Amazing communication. Exceeded our expectations. Living a flight away while doing a reno, we felt that our house was in great hands. Seth listened well, was always transparent, clear, available and reliable. He was a superb person lead on the project. Matt Tacoma was our site manager and we couldn't have been happier with his work. He is thorough, responsive, respectful and meticulous. We would not hesitate in recommending Centrix, and would use them again. We've worked with several contractors and builders before, and this was our best experience.

I can't say enough about Ian and Cheryl. They made this project possible! I cam to Ian in June with the idea of creating a dance studio however I told him that it had to be completed by the end of August 2019. He assured me that 90% of it would be complete and would be ready for our Grand Opening. I have to say that not only was the project completed on time but I would say more like 95% of the project was complete!!! I couldn't have done this without Ian and Cheryl and their team at Centrix. Centrix did a major renovation of our 1850's century home. We were very happy with the company, and would recommend them without hesitation. Seth was an excellent communicator, and was very down to earth and easy to work with. He helped tweak our design and had great ideas with respect to aesthetics/function etc. He was there every step of the way to help us make the many decisions we needed to make. At the beginning of the project he shared the budget with us and he was great in keeping us on budget. e.g. you are getting a more expensive door, but you saved on windows, so you are OK. He was also great at telling us where we'd be smart to spend a little extra, and where we would be better to save. We did end up going over budget, but that was entirely because we change our minds on a few design elements that weren't initially planned for - and we did this with full information on the impact it would have on the bottom line. Had it not been for our change in plans, we would have been on budget. Otto was our site manager. He as well, was incredibly personable and a pleasure to be around every day. The same can be said for the remainder of the Centrix crew - lovely people who I was happy to have in my home. Our project took 9 months to complete - only a few weeks over the plan. The delay in completion was due to Union Gas being very slow to move a gas meter - something that was out of Centrix' control. The work itself was excellent, with a high degree of attention to detail. Our house was an 1850's stone bungalow. Many of the historic features (baseboards, door casings etc) needed to be replicated. In terms of design, we had a design from another company and took it to Centrix to build. Our original design was improved upon by Seth in the planning phase. If I were to do it all again, I would get Centrix to both design and build. We also did a modern addition, so we got to see both traditional and modern building styles - both of which were done very well. After the renovation was complete, when small things came up (like a door sticking for instance), Seth saw that these things got looked after. All in all, we are very happy customers and would recommend Centrix and Seth, the owner, without reservation.

Our family with young kids (1&3 years old) hired Centrix to build our custom forever home in Guelph and we could not have possibly been more satisfied. In all regards Centrix has truly exceeded our expectations and I would have no hesitation recommending them to others. They were professional, on time, reliable, honest, knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, dedicated and the final product is such high quality and the amazing craftsmanship shows. They worked diligently every day from planning, through demolition until we moved in and are still available for us if we need them. They were responsive with communications, transparent with financial information and kept us informed throughout the entire process. We had a fantastic experience with Jim et al. at the Centrix Building group. Everyone who came to our home was professional and courteous. Jim answered all of our questions within a day and had solutions for us if a problem arose. He kept us up-to-date on the progress and made the entire renovation an easy process that was easy to understand. We enjoyed working with the team so much that we had them back for a very small project shortly after our main reno was completed. I couldn’t be happier with Centrix! Right from the beginning, Seth (the owner) was there with amazing ideas! He is not your average contractor - he is really interested in the design element and gave us amazing ideas that we implemented. Our project lasted just over 4 months and every day was enjoyable. Seth and Jeff (our site super) were there every step of the way to resolve issues, make suggestions and keep the ball rolling. Jeff was excellent along with all the other Centrix staff and their trades. Our project finished on time and on budget. The job was priced accurately at the start so there were no surprises along the way. The quality and craftsmanship exceeded our expectations!! Seth, Jim and the team at Centrix were incredible to work with. They worked seamlessly with our architect, contributed great design and logistical input, were up-front and open right from the start about where every dollar from a project would be going and delivered the entire project on time. Regular site visits, an extremely thorough and competent site supervisor (Kyle) who always had our interests at heart and timely communication from the management team were all part and parcel with their great service. We are very happy with our new home and would highly recommend Centrix to anyone looking to do any renovations or a complete new build.
