Christ Construction Services has been building and remodeling homes in Tulsa and the surrounding area since 1990 (formerly known as Champion Builders). Prior to relocating their business to Oklahoma, John and Deanna were promoting and installing solar thermal systems in Roswell, New Mexico. In 1985 they sold their solar company and moved to Tulsa. After the federal tax credits for solar expired John and Deanna introduced the “Smart Home” concept, or residential energy efficient home construction and retrofit. This concept was developed by Tracey Bass, of Guaranteed Watt Savers, located in North Carolina. The program was expanded and improved upon as science and technology developed new products and services for the construction industry such as blower door testing for air infiltration. Smart Home Consultants/GWS also utilized radiant barrier as an insulation/vapor shield for new construction. Services included HVAC design, air exchange and ventilation technology, tightening the building enclosure, and other concepts that viewed the house as a system. In 1990 they decided to share their attention to detail as contractors by offering to build homes for some of their friends by putting into practice their understanding of how buildings, their future occupants, and the environment will interact. Christ Construction understands the importance of a projects budget plus the needs and desires of the customer. In the late 90’s they added services for residential and light commercial remodels. By this time their 4 sons were of the age to tag along with mom and dad to learn the business beginning with cleaning job sites.
