In our search for a new house we considered many options. My wife and I had never built before and really didn’t know exactly what that looked like. We were originally drawn to Demlang Builders after visiting their Harper and Dakota models. We liked the basic layouts and the fit and finish of both models. After meeting Rod Demlang and talking with him about our needs and wants we decided they would be the right builder to work with. Rod is very honest and fair. I had heard plenty of nightmares about building but with Demlang Builders you’re going to get exactly what your contract says. It was really a comfort going through this year plus process having great confidence in the owner of the company. The contracting and budgeting process was straight forward and easy from our end. Cheryl is very good at putting everything together and very clear and knowledgeable about what you’re getting or not getting in the contract. As we started to adjust the floor plans to fit our specific desires we were always delighted to work with their architect Lisa. No matter the challenge we threw at her she always took it and made it even better than we thought it could be. Once the floor plan was complete we had to start looking at all the options for the house. It’s amazing how many choices you have to make when building a new home. We didn’t even know how to start picking out all the various products we’d have to choose. Thankfully we worked with Colleen to pick out all the materials we would need. She is a very talented designer and she is very easy to work with. She really enhanced what my wife and I were trying to achieve with our interior. Demlang Builders has a good amount of products to look at in-house but also have many great options if you didn’t find exactly what you were hoping for. Some designers only see their point of view but Colleen truly helped my wife and I see our vision come to life. Once you break ground on a new home there will be ups and downs. As the home owner you always want the project moving faster and at various points in the project you will wonder if things are moving along correctly. Our expeditor’s name was Aaron and I can say he is wonderful to work with. He is a very good and honest man and will work to get you exactly the home you designed and contracted. You end up working with the expeditor more than anyone else in the home building process and it is really wonderful to work with someone who is excellent at their job, attentive to your needs, and has a real passion for doing things right. There are many months that go by from the start of the process to finally moving in. Many challenges will come and go in that time. There is real comfort knowing that the builder you chose is honest and is going to build you exactly the home you paid for and designed. If you’re fortunate enough to be building a new home I strongly recommend Demlang Builders. There is great value in knowing that the builder you chose is excellent at their craft and true to their contracts. They absolutely can build you a home you will love.

I just want to thank everyone who works on our house! From Gary, Colleen, Rob, Aaron, Cheryl, the builders and a lot people worked on our house. The house looks amazing, my wife and I just love it! During the initial phase of my build through the completion I was overly satisfied. The design team and project manager were always on top of everything and frequently updated me on the progress. The quality of my build is also great and I am pleased with that. They would get a 5 star rating for everything up until that time. On the day of my close I was notified that I would need to pay them several thousand dollars for additional building materials, which was inconsistent with the rest of the build. Any time there was an adjustment I was notified and a change order was completed. That was different for the closing, just a bill the day before saying that I owed thousands of additional dollars. As for warranty claims, I still have some that are 9 months old... in comparison, they built the entire house quicker than fixing some items. The only time there are any updates on the warranty claims is when I reach out. If I don't reach out they remain open and unattended to. My septic tank was never hooked up to power and therefore not pumping anything out until I noticed the issue several months later. They had to trench my already landscaped yard and have done nothing to fix it since, basically leaving that responsibility to me to take care of. This is extremely disappointing considering the rest of my build was a great experience.

We love our Harper model home. My only complaint would be the gutters. Our gutters have no pitch and were fixed 6 months after we moved in. Now we’re in the next winter and again battling ice dams. Our house is out of builder warranty being a 1.5 years old. We will be paying a contractor in the spring to replace the gutters.

Built our home with Demlang. Although they built a solid structure, their customer support was rude, only giving us a phone number to fix it ourselves rather than owning the problem. We documented a list of the issues on their project website and they closed the problems out without talking to us to address it. Issues include our roof, large cracks in basement floor and lack of water pressure. We’ve had conversations with other Demlang home owners in our neighborhood who have had the same experience.

I have worked in the industry for many years, Rod and his team are one of the only ones I would send a friend or family member to build with.

We love new construction! Our Demlang Home is our third new build. We are so pleased with our new home. The process of plan selection, floor plan changes to customize it to our needs and design selection were so easy. The design center and feedback from our team was wonderful. Colleen and Rod came to our build site multiple times to assist with questions we had. Getting our home placed on our site was crucial and their experienced feedback was so helpful. The entire team was quick to respond to any questions we had and made the building process so enjoyable. We had a special piece of family history to be used in our home. The finish carpenters and painting/staining teams took care with this piece as if it were their own! Thank you Demlang Builders for our beautiful home!

My husband and I had been planning our dream home for years, and last week we actually moved into it! After years of research to find the right floorplan and builder, we chose Demlang's Alyssa II model. Their craftsmanship is second to none, and while their pricing initially seemed higher than others, we quickly realized that their homes include many features as standard that other builders list as upgrades (e.g., 3 car garage, quartz countertops, decorative niches). Every building process includes a few unexpected bumps, but we always felt as though the Demlang team had our best interests at heart. The result is a gorgeous house that we are proud to call our home.

After a long search for a builder who would meet our needs we chose Demlang Builders. We met one of their realtor/new home construction consultants, Ryan Exley, who provided all of the information we needed to make an educated choice. Ryan, Lisa, Colleen and Cheryl helped us to go through the initial steps and design process magnificently! We told them what we wanted in our home and they assisted us in making the desired modifications to the home plan and choices from paint to cupboards. As novices to the building process, we can't thank them enough for all of the help and guidance they provided. From the ground breaking through the final walk through of the home, the process went wonderful! Jason, the project manager, kept us up to date on the progress and answered all of our questions during the home building process. The final product is just beautiful! Everybody who has seen the home have had positive comments of the design and flow of the home. We plan on having many years of enjoyment in this home. All we can say is this project would not have happened without the help of the whole Demlang team from owners Rod and Colleen to all of their fantastic employees.
