My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

About Us

Firm Foundation Construction was created in early 2002 with the philosophy of doing everything as if we were working for the Lord. We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship, quality, and integrity as Firm Foundation walks clients through every step of the process including blueprints and cost estimates. We know that money is important which is why we provide an easy way for you to keep track of your budget and any changes that may take place. When it comes to living spaces Firm Foundation understands how important it is to find the right fit. This is why we work with you in every aspect from drawing up blueprints to choosing the perfect light fixture for that special room. We build custom homes, additions, or remodel your existing home to suit your individual taste. We primarily work in the Tri-City area and are licensed by the State of Tennessee; in addition, Firm Foundation carries Workman’s Compensation Insurance, General Liability Insurance, and is bonded.

Firm Foundation Construction has built 2 houses for us. Alan is great to work with and talk through ideas. He makes suggestions. He listens and is upfront on the costs. He is good at communicating and responding during the construction process. And he does not disappear once the house is finished. If something comes up he stands behind what he builds. He is very trustworthy and we would recommend him to anyone looking to build or remodel. Gain,, he has built 2 houses for us so, we like working with Alan and his team.

What great fun it was to 'work' with Alan on the construction of our home. From day one he was committed to what we wanted. He didn't wavier when we had a change of plans (more than once) and he kept the project on track. He was always available when we had a question, he is a pleasure to work with.

Excellent reputable contractor! We retained Alan Smith, of Firm Foundation to build a home for us in August, 2012. He proved to be an honest, responsible, extremely competent builder with the highest integrity. I have no reservation whatsoever in recommending Firm Foundation for any building needs.

Everyone at Firm Foundation has been great to work with. They built our dream home in less time than projected. We have been in the home just over a year and continue to enjoy the fine workmanship and the spacious rooms. This home was built with aging in place in mind for an older parent and Alan and his team were able to add so many touches that makes the home truly helpful for someone needing assistance in certain areas. The help received each step of the way with the interior design staff and the contractor made this a great experience. We would highly recommend Firm Foundation.
