My wife and I have been touring Joel's showcase homes for years in hopes of having one ourselves someday. Well, that day has finally arrived and we are thrilled with our decision to hire Joel as our builder. We built a Spring Showcase home this past year with Gmack Development. Joel was great to work with and always available and provided updated every step of the way during the construction process which is always a plus when building a new home. We always liked the quality and craftsmanship of Gmack homes from prior showings and we are very happy to have built our home with him. He was able to provide a list of trusted contractors prior to the building process which we reached out and were able to make decisions on. Joel built our home for the Spring 2017 Brown County, WI Builders Showcase of Homes. This was a complicated build in part because the home layout on the lot (fitting the home on the lot correctly) was difficult. A number of issues surfaced during construction that needed to be solved quickly by Joel that could not have been foreseen by anyone until construction began. Joel worked very well with the subcontractors and the regulatory officials and solved all the issues. The home turned out really well and flows with the lot which was very important to us. The other significant quality that Joel brings to the table is a no non-sense approach. If what you are asking to be done regarding the build is not feasible or a poor choice he tells you that up front. Finally as with any home build there are things that need to be corrected. Joel has consistently said "I will take care of it" and he does. I have recommended him as a builder to my friends.

Joel built our 6500 sq foot dream house for the Fall Showcase of Homes. He was a pleasure to work with & was always patient, professional & very competent. Our house was completed on time and was exactly what we wanted & expected. The quality of his build was exceptional as we've had no issues with the house, even almost 10 years later. I highly recommend Gmack Development and don't think you could pick a better builder - he & his work are highly respected.

Gmack builds a quality home at an affordable price. Our home is very spacious and functional for an active family. The woodwork and other finish carpentry is beautiful and adds just the right amount of touch to make our house feel like a comfortable home. Even after the building is complete, Gmack makes himself available to answer any questions or make any repairs you feel necessary.

We have known Joel Gmack for 6 years and witnessed his professionalism with several clients we are friends with. Through those projects, we were very impressed with Joel's passion for architecture and for establishing long term relationships with his clients, truly an outstanding quality in the industry! Joel takes personal pride in his work so it was very easy to hire him for our basement finishing project. Joel was very upfront with ideas we had that would end up being costly long term. No sense in being penny savvy now for dollar short later. Joel sincerely helped us keep within budget and make smarter decisions on where to cut costs. Joel's work is outstandingly beautiful! We did have some situations that required creative thinking, for example, basement support posts that were awkwardly arranged by the previous builder were used to help frame out a double sided fireplace. It would have been so easy just to hide them in a weird wall but Joel took it as an opportunity to create something beautiful! We love our basement and cannot thank Joel enough for the amazing work!

After meeting with 2 other builders, we had almost given up on the thought of building. With the help of our realtor, he recommended us to Joel. We hesitated at first because we had seen his homes during past showcases and thought he was way out of our league. But we were surprised. Wow what a difference! He was very easy to talk to and really got our whole vision and concept of the house we wanted. Communication was very open throughout the whole build. Any changes or modifications was done with ease. I honestly had more of a problem with my spouse than Joel (Joke). But honestly everything went smoothly. His subcontractors were excellent also. From painters, electricians, to plumbers. Everyone was willing to give us their opinion to meet our needs. All expectations were met with absolutely no problems. Timeline from start to finish on the dot. Believe me when I say this since we had to be out of our previous home on a specific date. Budget wise....we came in under! Overall, I would honestly recommend Joel 100%. He still gets in touch after the job is done.

We hired Joel (Gmack Development) to design and finish our basement. We started with a 'clean slate', knowing only that we wanted a bedroom, full bath and recreation area. Joel helped us design the layout to maximize space and functionality as well as some creative ideas for a closet and built in shelving. The work to complete the basement was done on time and within the original budget estimated even though we made a few minor changes along the way. The quality is top notch down to matching the stain colors and hardware of the upstairs livening area. Very pleased with the entire experience. We've also recommended Joel to a friend who was also very satisfied with the work.
