John Henry was the general contractor for our poptop/house extension. I have been told that this is standard practice for contractors, but the cost of the project was almost twice of what was budgeted and twice the timeframe. He had many projects running at the same time, so he was not onsite to determine quality. There were cases during construction where his subs made mistakes, and instead of having them redo these areas, John tried to diminish the damage so that he could finish as quickly as possible. The worst issue, though, is that the old sewage line beneath the house was not replaced or even discussed with us, so 6 years after we built this new house, we had failure of the sewage line and significant damage to our house. We contacted John during this process, and he did not respond. We have spent an exorbitant amount of money on something that could have been done at the time of the original construction. If you are seeking a contractor who will oversee a project to make sure that it is done correctly, then I would look elsewhere.

The Henry Development company is highly skilled in the area of residential construction. They implemented a house addition for us and we are very pleased with the results. John Henry is enjoyable to work with and comes with a deep understanding of the options available to a client, he has a transparent process that brings full knowledge of the choices and prices to the owner.
