Sadly, I cannot give 6 stars because I definitely would. As a homeowner that lives nearly on the other side of the country, I trust no one like I trust Kent Construction Group. Dustin and Alan are terrific at what they do and they do it at a great price. Customer service is extraordinarily important to Kent and it shows. Even if they did cost more, I'd still use them because I can count on them. If you are considering Kent you won't be sorry. Seriously.

I wish there were more stars that I could give Alan and his crew from Kent Construction! The bottom line is, if you have a major remodel or addition project you're planning and you don't at least interview Alan, you're missing out big-time. He was lightning-fast with our home addition (we went from 800 to 2,100 sq ft in only 4.5 months!); the quality of the work was impeccable; Alan's responsiveness and sense of organization around managing his subcontractors was truly impressive (he had several teams going at once at most times, which kept the pace moving along very quickly); and, his network of suppliers was so good that we saved thousands of dollars on everything from cabinets to flooring to siding, and that absolutely made the difference in enabling us to build what is really our dream home! Our kitchen and flooring especially are beyond anything we could have imagined when we started this process. But most importantly, there were two things that sold us on working with Alan that his former clients told us: 1. Every former client we met with told us that he finished their projects on time and at or under budget, which is incredible, and 2. That he became their friend and they still hung out with him. We can attest to both those points. Alan was like our 'house whisperer' - such a steadying, calming presence when we were stressing about each little decision and all the money that a project like ours cost, and we can truly say that he's become a friend through this whole process. There aren't enough kind words I can say about working with Alan and his team. We raved so much about his work that he's now about to start a major remodel for some friends of ours who watched our project happen in real time. We are so happy we found him!

Working with Kent Construction Group has been a phenomenal process. They exhibit the utmost professionalism, have superb communication, transparency, respect for the client and workers, all while demonstrating exacting expertise and detail. We considered other contractors who indicated the project would take twice as long and quite frankly weren't half as nice as this group. We had a very small rambler that we added on three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a mudroom and remodeled/expanded the kitchen. In short, we built a brand new house. Kent Construction Group was fast, but also thorough. They corrected existing structural defects, suggested design elements that improved the project, and gave us enough time to noodle over big project decisions like paint colors and hardwood floor stains. The contractor caught small errors in the architect's design and handled the touchy subject with diplomacy and grace. We honestly miss the contractor now that the project is over and look forward to a life long friendship with him. Do your due diligence and interview multiple contractors, but I promise you, you won't find a better contractor in the area.

We just finished a very large renovation to our house and we could not have asked for more from Alan Newcomer and his crew from Kent Construction Group. We did a complete exterior and first floor renovation with addition. For exterior: we redesigned the front facade by changing the roof line, adding a large porch, new windows, new roof, new siding, new exterior paint and new gutters. We also put a large living room addition to the back with a vaulted ceiling and gas fireplace. We moved the kitchen to the middle of the house and doubled it's size creating a brand new kitchen with a coffered ceiling and two islands. We closed walls and widen doorways, replaced bannisters, redid an old fireplace, added pantry cabinets, and restained floors. The entire renovation was done in 3 and a half months, over 1 and a half months shorter than our contract stated. Amazing. Alan is wonderful to work with. He is considerate, thoughtful and never condescending to a set of clients who had little knowledge about construction. He managed all of his subcontractors really well and had a crew in the house doing work every day M-F during the renovation period. He was on site every day and always accessible by email and phone. He made the experience of doing a large renovation while living in the house more than bearable. Alan and his crew are very hard working, and aim to please the client. We would definitely use them again.

We cannot say enough great things about Alan and his crew. They completed a one story addition on our 1954 home adding a master bedroom suite and family room while modifying our existing kitchen, bedrooms and living room. Throughout the process Alan was incredibly professional and respectful of our needs. He understood our budget and worked within it to give us something we would be more than happy with. To ensure everything went as smooth as possible Alan was not only on site everyday but available at anytime to answer questions and help make decisions. When questions arose he made sure to thoroughly explain everything so we understood and were comfortable with the plan. He was even able to orchestrate the contractors and inspections so well that they finished a few weeks ahead of schedule. His crew was professional and very respectful of our home and needs as well. Pregnant and with a toddler in the house, they were careful to keep everything as clean as possible and leave everything safe and secured each night so we were able to stay in the house during the renovation. The renovation came out even better than we could have imagined. Alan is incredibly detail oriented, a pleasure to work with, and very knowledgable about his craft. We highly recommend Alan and Kent construction to anyone looking to do home renovations.

I've been a sub-contractor for Alan Newcomer of Kent Construction Group since January 2014 and every project I've done for him has been very well organized and budgeted. There are never any surprises when I arrive to his job site to complete my part of the project and all materials are on site ready for me. Every project I've worked on with him, homeowners always have nothing but good things to say and are very pleased with his performance, professionalism, and timeliness. Of all the contractors I work for, Alan is one of my favorite to work for. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is beginning a large remodel, addition, or new construction project involving multiple trades.
