Owner Pete Olson grew up in CA, in the family-owned construction business, and studied Civil Engineering at SDSU. The mountains drew Pete to Park City where he launched PJ Builders in 1997. After vetting several GC's in Park City for my Florida-based client, I had the pleasure to collaborate with PJ Builders as the interior designer on a new build in Old Town Park City, Utah. Pete, Riley, Tom & Justin were wonderful to work with. I was very impressed with their attention to detail, communication, and their highly skilled sub-contractors. It was a difficult site to build on during a record-breaking winter, and they did everything in their power to keep the project moving along and stay on budget. I appreciated their willingness to meet me on site upon request, and help trouble shoot minor issues that inherently come up in every project. The final product is of very high quality and my clients are thrilled with their new home. I would highly recommend PJ Builders to build your custom home.

We hired PJ Builders for an 18-month gut renovation project on our 4,400 sq/ft primary home in Park City. They did an exemplary job. They were able to stay on schedule despite endless challenges related to materials and subcontractors during COVID. They also had an attention to detail and quality that I hadn't experienced with other contractors previously. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for all types of projects in the PC area.

Working with Pete Olson and his team was a pleasure. They balanced the project realities beautifully, had a deep understanding of our priorities, and operated responsively and professionally to all matters. We wanted to create a modern esthetic within the existing mountain contemporary framework of the home built in 1992 but never updated. Working in two phases to allow us use of the home in prime ski season Pete concentrated on the exterior and mechanicals as stage one, then went back to renovate the interior as phase two - staying on deadline and within budget both times and exceeding expectations. The blend of his personal style and an understanding of ours led to a beautiful, functional, and highly valuable home.

Pete (PJ Builders) was very professional, knowledgeable, honest and conscientious in his approach to my project, which was a complete interior demolition and reconstruction of my newly purchased home. He had an excellent staff as well as subcontractors each well-qualified in their own discipline that required little supervision. Pete was able to foresee many possible issues and plan ahead before the issues became problems. Communication was easy, accessibility never a question. and follow-through and follow-up very dependable. As a retired general contractor myself, I was very pleased with PJ Builders' work, workmanship and performance completing my project and the fairness of the cost through completion. I cannot say enough about Pete Olsen, PJ builders and the incredible team of subs. I have done several remodels with other contractors and our projects always seemed to end with the feeling of ‘please just make this end’. With Pete and his team we never had a moment like that! The communication, respect for our budget, timeliness of his team and subs, respect and cleanliness of the worksite and quality of work were like nothing we have ever experienced. I knew Pete had multiple other projects at the time but he never made us feel like it. He answered text and phone calls, checked in continuously at the project and with his subs and was always a calming presence at a hectic job site. I am already looking forward to our next project with Pete and his team.
