We first met Clay Davis and PrideWorks Construction early in 2006 when we were interviewing general contractors to construct our new home on Tolomato Island. We had interviewed several builders but were instantly impressed with Clay’s professional approach.
I personally have been involved in the construction industry for over 40 years with 28 of those years as head of my own architectural firm in Atlanta. I have worked with numerous general contractors as well as sub-contractors in all trades throughout the United States and the Caribbean.
Clay had already done numerous projects with great success and excellent references but our home would be the largest that he would have attempted. We can say without equivocation that we couldn’t be more pleased that he took the contract. As I previously stated, I have worked with many contractors on projects both large and small and I would not hesitate to put Clay Davis at the absolute top of that group.
The building of our home was a collaborative effort and although my design, Clay contributed many useful suggestions. One being the envelope approach to insulating the structure and at nearly 5,000 sq. ft. of conditioned space, our average electric bills are $200 to $250 dollars per month.
Another item that is so very important when a contractor is working on something as personal as one’s home and that is budget control. I can state that Clay’s budget control system puts constant information in place for the owner to control and manage costs.
One more thing that people should know is that with Clay the completion of the project does not mean the contractor is finished. We have had occasion for some minor items that needed attention, and Clay or his people were always right there to do what needed to be done.
