I have purchased and am living in a condo at Victoria Common and I write this review so that people have the full story before they decide to purchase a condo being from this company.
The Queensgate homes website presents awards they've won as a builder, but if their previous builds were anything like this one then it makes no sense to give this company an award. Don't be blinded by their shiny medals, read my review and reviews from others who have lived through this process to inform yourself before making a decision.
I first signed a contract to buy my condo in December 2013 for a move-in date of September 2015. I didn't move in until September 2017 - 2 years late.
Those were two very difficult years waiting and being disappointed over and over again as they continued to extend the move-in date. When I finally did move in, the building wasn't even close to done: No carpets, ceilings in the halls and the walls weren't finished or painted either. I've been here for almost 4 months and the hallways are still not finished. Furthermore, my condo had almost 100 defects and I've even had contractors working here tell me this has been the most poorly run jobsite they've ever seen. This company prides itself on craftmanship but I don't think there could be more of an absense of craftsmanship taking place here.
There were cigarette butts flicked all over the balcony which is disgusting and unnecessary, and the cement tiles they've laid down on my balcony aren't even laid flat.
Everytime I turn on my washer, the pipes rattle from a massive thrust of water hammer that sounds like the pipes are going to burst. If not today, maybe a month or years down the road if left unresolved - when is it going to happen?
I've contact customer support rep Jessica R. from Victoria common a number of times now and she's been helpful but is caught in the middle of a customer wanting support and a mostly unresponsible builder. Jessica had a hard time contacting queensgate and had to send multiple emails before they replied. When Queensgate finally replied they said they would stop by yesterday to take a look but they didn't and didn't have the decency to phone or contact me in any way to re-arrange another time. Terrible communication and customer support. Who is going to pay for it when this pipe bursts a number of months or years down the road because this issue is being ignored?
I've been living here two months and the battle to get what I've paid for continues...
Overall, if I had to go back I wouldn't have purchased this condo from Queensgate homes. I hope this helps people make an informed decision as to whether they want to invest in this company.
