We planned to relocate to Anderson area in 2023 and after interviews with several National Builders, decided to build our retirement home with an established local Builder. Our move was planned for 2025. We identified Spectrum Builders after a local search. After the interview with Ken and seeing his finished product we proceeded. Ken worked with us to develop a custom plan with his designer, offering insights and options, throughout the process. His knowledge of local suppliers was very helpful in selecting accessories, appliances and finishes that have blended well. We moved in in April 2025 close to original build window. Ken delivered on solid design and quality. The punch list was short and competed in 45 days as promised. Satisfied, we asked Kem to provide additional work in the basement which was completed at a low cost and with in a couple weeks and promised. Ken and his team have been a pleasure to work with through the project. Friends and family have all commented positively on the home and well it flows for family gatherings. Ken and his team have helped make relocating from the coast one of our best decisions.

Ken took a chance on me and I took a chance on Ken. We had a unique build setup where we used a third party for the design and manufacture the exterior and his team performed the rest of the new construction. Collectively we learned; Ken and his team shared valued opinions, perspective, and results as we worked through unique requirements and collaborated on solutions. While it took longer than desired, we’re pleased with the outcome and Ken’s honestly, candor, and collaborative approach made the process of building this second home easy (even though we live 2 hours away). Would definitely work with Ken and his team again.

We had an amazing experience with Spectrum Builders. Ken Palmer lead our project with professionalism, skill and care every step of the way. We built our home with a national builder where the mark up for upgrades is very high and the choices are limited. Therefore, we went the route of hiring Ken and his team to add finishing touches following our closing. They added beams, shiplap, wainscoting, a pot filler, and custom painting for us. In addition, they helped with hanging fixtures, fans, mirrors and lighting. They made our house a home! From start to finish, we had complete trust in Ken. Prior to starting our project, Ken brought a couple members of his team to our house. They were incredible. We told them what we wanted and they offered ideas to make the plan even better. They had a great eye for design and so many great ideas! Everyone worked extremely hard, with efficiency and attention to detail. Ken was highly involved and coordinated it all so well. We couldn’t be happier with the results and even better, his prices are very reasonable-especially given the high quality workmanship. Ken is very personable and was a pleasure to work with every step of the way. Given we are new to the area, he was also very helpful in connecting us with other resources and offered us excellent advice. We are very happy customers and highly recommend Spectrum for your home build, renovation, or upgrades!

We are in the middle of a lake house construction and way ahead of schedule. Ken and his team have not only been easy to work with but so far the construction has been beyond our expectations. He has been able to solve all issues that have arisen in a way that benefits us in a timely and cost effective manner. He is very knowledgeable in all areas big and small and has added small details to make our house even more beautiful. I would highly recommend him to anyone building or re-modeling!!!!

Ken Palmer and his team at Spectrum Builders demonstrated significant shortcomings in their management and execution of our construction project. The work often did not meet our expectations and there were numerous issues with project management and adherence to building codes, as assessed by a licensed engineer. Notably, Ken was often unresponsive and did not provide the necessary documentation for our cost-plus project. During the construction, there were delays in securing necessary permits and in providing essential site amenities, such as dumpsters and portable toilets. Additionally, the materials meant for specific parts of the construction were misused, leading to additional costs on our part. The workmanship on critical aspects like plumbing and framing was poor, leading to potential structural and functional issues. For example, the plumbing installed had significant sloping issues, risking future water damage. The craftsmanship in other construction areas like masonry and carpentry also fell short of professional standards. Promises regarding the finishing of surfaces and structural integrity were not fulfilled, affecting the overall quality and durability of the build. While Ken is personable and can present a convincing front, our experience suggests a gap between his assurances and the actual delivery of services. For those considering Spectrum Builders for high-value home projects, it is advisable to closely monitor and verify the construction details and the quality of the work performed to ensure it meets safety standards and professional practices.

We recently did an entire kitchen remodel and also new flooring installed throughout our home. Ken Palmer and his team at Spectrum Builders did a phenomenal job! Not only are his workers wonderful, but the sub contractors he uses are just as great. Everyone that did work in our home was always there when they said they would be, and completed each stage of the project in a timely and efficient manner. Ken and his team were always professional and answered all our questions. They saw to it that our vision for our updated space turned out exactly how we wanted it to. Ken and his team did an extensive remodel of our master bath. It required a change in footprint, plumbing, electrical, tile, the works! We love the end result. I was very pleased with craftsmanship and communications. Highly recommend Spectrum Builders.
