We had a fantastic experience with Sun Bay Builders. They did a complete renovation and addition to our 1980’s home. Basically everything was renovated or replaced down to the studs and a new family room, master bathroom and porch were added. Mike Miano, Superintendent Jason, and their entire team were very professional during the process and were very responsive to our many requests and change orders. They are a very ethical and professional company and provided quality workmanship with great attention to details. We would not hesitate to use Sun Bay again on any future construction projects.

Sun Bay Builders did a room addition for us a couple of years ago and we couldn’t be happier with the results. They were very communicative every step of the way which we obviously appreciated a lot. If we were ever stuck on a decision, they were extremely helpful in talking it through with us. One thing I noticed that I don’t think many contractors do, is they made sure to clean up after themselves each day. Anyone who has had work done knows how messy it can get and I was pleasantly surprised to see a clean work area after they left. Little details like that go a long way. I am excited to say that we have hired Sun Bay Builders again for our upcoming garage addition and kitchen remodel. I honestly can't say enough about the wonderful experience we had with Sunbay Builders for our remodel. From the initial meeting, through the final steps of the project, our expectations were exceeded. They were very conscious of our budget, and gave us options for alternatives and upgrades with that in mind. We found them to be timely, honest, communicative, and friendly. As a total construction novices, I always felt like we were in such good hands with Mike and Jason. They answered when we called and took the time to explain every little detail along the way. Of course no remodel is complete without its setbacks, but the care they took to respond quickly and efficiently to any issues was first class. Thank you, Sunbay. We've dreamed about this project for the better part of a decade and absolutely love our new space.

Sun Bay Builders Inc. is a bad building contractor in the Tampa Bay area. Mike Miano the owner and worst job-site boss. Sun Bay will let their painters paint the walls with no drop cloths and leave paint all over the floors and windows and stairs. They don't care and will just shrug their shoulders like “oh well”. They let the painter basically paint everything. They also have their guys drag appliances across your hardwood floors that are 80yrs old and are down to their last sanding without any protection on the floor. They spill glue and builders adhesive and paint on newly sanded floors. Then Mike tells his guys to go around and whip paint thinner on a newly coated floors. Mike Miano and Sun Bay Builders will not protect you when they don't pay there contracted bills and you will end up with a property lien and put you in the middle of their bad business practices. Sun Bay will have hardwood floor put in over a garage and doesn't even install r-13 insulation and 6 mil plastic stapled in to the beams in the garage below the floor were the humidity and temp differences cause swelling and movement of the solid hardwood floor. Also they use chip board as a sub floor and on stairs to save $2 a sheet over real plywood for the job he save $100 by doing that really Sun Bay. They know chip board shrinks and soaks up moisture like a sponge, we live in the Florida swamp not Arizona dry desert and over time the sub floor will come lose and squeak like crazy. Leave plywood and chip board out in the rain and see which one weight's more. They don't care. When he messes up he blames everybody else except himself. It’s all about cutting corners and saving money to have larger profit . below I added some of the 75 pictures and video I have have. Houzz only lets 4 pictures Look at the mess sun bay builders let's go on in your home when you move out and let them run the day to day work at your home. They let the drywall guy mix joint compound with wheelbarrow in your house. If you know anything about drywall dust its everywhere fast and in every small crack. The painters, look at all the paint and joint compound on a antique heart pine floor that historical. You can even see foot prints in the paint on the floor. This is just a small sample but I bet you bet the idea Tampa Bay

When I inherited my parents 1950's home in St.Pete.Florida it was badly in need of updating.I live in Massachusetts and could not stay in Florida to oversee a complete home renovation so I needed a contractor I could trust.After researching local contractors online and getting recommendations from building officials in the area I selected Sun Bay Builders.Mike,Sue and Mike jr listened to what I wanted to do,provided me with solid no nonsense advice and a detailed plan to get the job done within my budget.They consistently kept me informed of the progress.Their professionalism,quality of work and attention to detail was outstanding .I would highly recommend Sun Bay Builders to anyone who wants to build a new home or renovate an existing one with quality work! Sunbay Builders did a good job. The project was on budget and completed in the timeframe we agreed to. This was a large project (400K) with a number of difficult architectural aspects that Chip and Mike handled well.

Sun Bay builders did a major remodel to our home in St Petersburg, FL. This included expanding our kitchen, adding a new bathroom and remodeling two others. They enclosed our porch and we now have a wonderful area to entertain outside. We worked closely with them to have tile choices, paint colors, bathroom fixtures, lighting, and new appliances selected and delivered to keep the project moving forward. They answered all of our questions and concerns . They were very reliable and consummate professionals.
