Tyee Log and Timber

History As second generation builders, our principles Rob Wheeler and Carl Lauren have over 30 years of experience. Our roots are based in Williams Lake, BC. Our first log home was built in 1977 by Rick Wheeler. Using manual hoisting equipment and hand made log scribers, this log home was built on site. Over the years we have evolved our craft, and we now build our Handcrafted Log Homes at our log yard in Kimberley, BC. We have now further evolved, and produce handcrafted Timber Frame structures as well. What we do We have synergized Log Building with Timber Frame building. Handcrafted Log and Timber Frame building have typically been two distinct crafts. We have taken each, examined them, and have pulled out skills and methods that would improve the other. This cross pollination of building methods has led to improved efficiencies in building as well as more dynamic and attractive finished products. We have done this because we are passionate about building and living in naturally produced wood spaces. We design and deliver highly refined structures crafted to be energy efficient, economical and engaging. We are aware and encourage the move towards "green" building practices.
