My experience with PTL Home Styling was extremely disheartening. We met with the owner at the end of August. We signed a service agreement on August 24, 2021. She required a deposit for six hours of design work at $70.00 per hour and an $800 deposit to purchase items. She came out for three installs and during the last install on 12/1/2021 she brought lamps for the living room. I told her when she placed them that I wasn't sure about them. That same evening my husband told me to tell her we didn't like them because the lamp shades looked extremely cheap. I texted the owner and she said that was an easy fix. Fast forward seven weeks and I never heard a word from her. I had to send two emails and a text before she responded. I asked her if she was going to be able to finish decorating my home by March and she said that she couldn't. I told her that I would have to hire someone else but she still had a pillow that she bought for my entry way. She said she would drop it off next week. I had not heard from her by Thursday of that week and so I texted her and she told me that she planned on dropping it off that day but she had just tested positive for Covid. I understand that she was sick, but there was absolutely no communication from her to let me know she wouldn't be able to drop it off as she had promised. She was always rescheduling our appointments for one reason or another which she blamed me for in her last email. She claimed that she had limited time to schedule my home because I needed to be home. I have a very flexible schedule so that simply was not true. I was frustrated at her lack of communication in regards to following up on the lamps. I also wasn't happy with several other items but she never followed up about the lamps so I didn't have the opportunity to tell her about the other items. During our text exchange, she told me that I was past the 30 day mark so they couldn't be returned and I could do with them what I please. Via email she told me the problem is two fold- A) There are no tags for them B) It was past the 30 day mark. It was not my fault that she failed to follow-up after the last install when I told her via text I didn't like the lamps. I told her I didn't feel like I got my money's worth and she responded by saying that she went above and beyond and that she spent countless hours designing my son's bedroom. She proceeded to tell me via email that I had gotten my money's worth because she spent 10 hours shopping and designing things for my house. She ended her email by telling me that this was her last form of communication with me. I responded by asking her to provide me documentation for the 10 hours she spent on my home and she has not responded. Reputable decorators provide it automatically. The owner's responses via our email and text exchange were extremely unprofessional. I absolutely do not recommend doing business with this company.
