Block Plan Interior Design and Architecture is a design studio based in Cape Town. We work on a wide range of projects, from high-end residential homes and custom-designed furniture to apartments and commercial spaces. Our design approach is informed by the nature of block plans: drawings of buildings and layouts in their most simplified form. Block Plan Interior Design and Architecture therefore focuses on transforming simple, essential ideas and executing concepts in intelligent ways. We are interested in using materials in their natural form, often including timber and raw steel, but with strong attention to detail. We look for creative, sustainable design opportunities, offer support from sketch designs to construction detailing, and guide projects through council approval processes. Our focus is on high-impact, honest design that has integrity and that will outlast fads and fashions.
