Shelly did a great job for us. We were repainting a large single story open plan house and redoing the entire floor in hardwood. After years of drab walls we really wanted to get a lot of color in and end up with a beachy, coastal vibe, but weren't sure how to go about it with the open plan and one room flowing into another. Just to make things even harder, we had a tight timeframe because we had a hard deadline for completion coming right up. We could not be happier with the result. Everyone who comes in comments on how beautiful and bright and fresh it looks. And the best part is it looks like what WE had in mind and the themes we were thinking of . Shelly was easy to work with and spent some time up front looking at pictures and colors I liked and drew from that. Since she knew we wanted a lot of color she helped us be confident and go for it. She brought options to the table we wouldn't have been aware of and helped us by defining how to navigate all those difficult transitions in an open plan layout. We have had previous not-so-happy experiences with designers so this was pleasure. I guess the proof is that we have engaged her on two additional projects.

I had a bad leak in my dining/kitchen that required us to remodel the space. I highly recommend working with Shelly. She is approachable and made an enormous difference designing our space. As a working parent I get overwhelmed with choices and sequences of items especially when also working with insurance. Shelly helped us design a beautiful functional space which has made a huge impact! She is able to think of small details that I would never have considered to optimize form & design.

CURATE did an amazing job in our Master Bathroom renovation. CURATE turned our drab bathroom into one that is, IMHO, magazine worthy! We got the bathroom of our dreams. CURATE exceeded our expectations: 1. Understood and worked closely with us throughout the process and was readily available when we have questions. 2. Worked well & closely with our contractors. We not only used CURATE for our Master Bath but also for consult for our bedroom and for our first floor tile replacement job.

My kitchen remodel was the first experience working with CURATE Design Studio and the service and satisfaction of the job far surpasses my expectations. Shelly Garza's professional and personable character is easy to work with, as she has the ability to connect and establish a relationship with her clients. During planning meetings, Shelly asked questions, listened, brainstormed, and empowered me to make decisions that fit my needs, concerns, and dreams. The project objective was to remodel an existing kitchen, redefining a fairly small, closed-in space, to be a more open concept space, adding storage and lighting. The process involved demolishing an existing kitchen, restructuring the ceiling, restructuring cabinet configuration, building custom cabinets, building a custom console in the dining area, designing and building open shelving, restructuring kitchen walls and a door frame, and adding various types of lighting. In addition, some appliances were purchased. The project process consisted of an excellent flow, as Shelly took time to meet in person to discuss the project as well as meeting with me at warehouses to choose various materials. Using her expertise, Shelly explained the pros and cons of using specific materials, specific colors, and specific finishes. The ultimate decisions about the project were mine to make, but Shelly helped me understand and compare material and kitchen functionality each step of the way. Due to my busy work schedule, Shelly was willing to meet with me on Zoom, on FaceTime, through email, and through text. The process of the project was well defined and clearly communicated each step of the way. When we ran into kinks, Shelly communicated the problem with me, but always with a solution and a calm demeanor. I am elated to give CURATE Design Studio the highest level of customer satisfaction because my new kitchen is uniquely designed, has abundant storage, and is functional. It was important to Shelly that my new kitchen fill all of my needs because I cook everyday and spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Using Curate was the one of the best home improvement decisions we have made. We had been wanting to remodel our bathrooms, put in new flooring & baseboard throughout and paint the entire interior. Shelly rocks! She helped me with a full home remodel last year. We hired Shelly to help us remodel our new home - focusing on the areas of the kitchen, family room, powder bathroom, living room/dining area and guest bathroom. We were introduced to CURATE through our realtor. Our recently purchased & remodeled house just didn't quite feel like the home we imagined. Having never worked with an interior designer, we were worried our budget would be too small or the scope of our project wouldn't be of interest (since the remodel was done). After a quick introduction, Shelly and Julie came out to see the house and listen to what we felt was missing. They did a great job explaining the process and making us feel comfortable. As we completed the interior of the home, we've now expanded to the exterior & landscaping design. I hired Shelly to help me pick out a paint color for my bedroom and after talking with her I felt like she really understood my vision, so I hired right there. Shelly’s creativity, eye for great pieces, and her resources to to have people work on my project was mind blowing. They were professional and fast. I truly love my new bedroom and I walk in every time with a smile knowing this is my room. Shelly has shown me she can do her job efficiently, that I will be hiring her to work on my living room.

They did a color consult for our exterior house paint. They were very friendly and personable, but even more important they were very talented. They quickly honed in on what I liked, and were flexible when our contractor moved up our decision date. Impressed!

I needed to open up a bedroom wall and turn the bedroom into a common living space. My idea was to add French doors and sheet rock the end walls. “CURATE” came in and suggested NO sheet rock, but to INSTEAD add glass all the way across. This idea was BRILLIANT!!! I never would have thought to do glass all the way across. Not only does “the scale of the opening” look amazing! it provides great light and view to our backyard.
