My 2nd kitchen remodel with Kitchen & Bath Galleries of Chapel Hill. Robin McCarthy was on top of everything from the beginning to the end. She listened to the vision I had for the kitchen and she was able to come up with a plan that gave me more cabinet AND more counter top space!! She was also very good at communicating the process and keeping me up to date on what would be going on from week to week. In addition, she was great at helping make decisions on color, sink and hardware. I love my kitchen!

My wife and I decided we really needed to totally renovate the kitchen so we drew some rough concepts and went out to bid on the cabinets. K&B Galleries were the low bidder of five companies on the concept so we gave them a design deposit of $500 to take the design to detailed construction drawings. Robin, the designer, was very patient with us as we can be demanding having built homes in the past and my 40 years in the construction industry. The cabinets came on time and were professionally installed by their excellent trim carpenters. Installing kitchen cabinets is what I call forensic carpentry. They didn't rush but instead took their time to get it installed properly the first time. They dealt with uneven walls with unique solutions that they went over with us before proceeding. They even pointed out two doors that didn't meet their standards and ordered them replaced at no cost. They also added some shelves for us at no additional cost. They went out of their way to be sure it was perfect and it is. Our new kitchen is stunning. Lee of K&B helped us pick out the perfect appliances for us and has also gone out of his way to be sure we were happy with the units. We are. The appliance prices were the same or lower that we could find on the web. I highly recommend K&B Galleries.

We started a new home construction project and thought we had a pretty great kitchen plan of our own design. Boy were we wrong. After we met with Robin, we realized there were so many possibilities and improved functionality to be had for our new space. The whole process with Robin was efficient, cost effective, and most of all totally enjoyable. We are over the top pleased with our new kitchen, and are so glad we got Robin's help and did not go forward with our original plan!

Robin is great and anyone who works with Robin is in for a treat. We had so many problems with our project but Robin went above and beyond to make sure the job was not only done but done well. She would come over herself to ensure the quality and timeliness of the project even with all the hiccups. She's a great designer and worker and amazing customer service. It's easy to feel harried, frustrated and stressed when doing renovation work but working with Robin gave us confidence and peace of mind that she would see all the work done thoroughly. We love our newly renovated kitchen and the new appliances!

We used Robin for our kitchen design. Not only was she fun to work with she has great taste & her design input was perfect. Needless to say it was a construction site so there were some some bumps and scrapes but she had crews come out and touch them all up. I couldn’t be happier. I get tons of compliments and I absolutely love my kitchen.

Robin was easy to work with and had great ideas to share with us. She really pulled the great room together, suggesting the bump out wall with tile and a great selection of furniture. We love the powder room and the vinyl grasscloth is just perfect.

I can't say enough good things about Robin! We had a very short timeline for a big project and kept adding more renovations. She happily took on the extra work and made things happen, fast (!) We had several setbacks and she was always on top of things and made sure everything got figured out. She has great taste and is super helpful whether you know exactly what you want or if need a lot of guidance. She is also very kind and sweet. We loved working with her and would recommend her to anybody needing interior design services.

Robin helped us upgrade the whole top floor of our 1967 split level. The scope included some new hardwood to be woven into the existing floors, re-staining the full hardwood floor, re-doing the bath, opening up the floorplan by tearing down walls (combining the dining area and kitchen into one large room), repainting the whole house, updating many light fixtures, and building a large island. We had some tight timelines as we only had four weeks between closing on the house and moving in. Robin was a great asset in both quickly choosing materials as well as managing the team of contractors to those timelines. We're thrilled with how the house looks.

Robin helped me pick out the right carpet for my bedrooms. She was professional and easy to work with and I love my carpet! Pat K.

Robin was immensely helpful in guiding me to choose treatments for four baths, plus floor and window coverings for the entire home. As a fine art dealer who had just done 2 home renovations, I thought my taste and knowledge were pretty refined, but Robin took this project to the next level. Thanks!

I had the pleasure of working with Robin McCarthy form Niwot interiors on a whole home refresh. We selected paint colors for every room in our home. Robin worked patiently with me as we selected 12 different colors that would work together and breathe new life into our home. The paint looks and feels amazing. We also extended our hardwood floors into the family room. We than stained them to a beautifully rich darker color that we love. We carried that stain color to our mantelpiece and railings. It was a huge job but it looks just wonderful. We finished up the refresh with putting in some wonderful carpeting that Robin selected for the upstairs bedrooms and main floor office. These projects took a lot of time to do and Robin was just fantastic to work with throughout the entire job. We highly recommend her.

I really can't say enough good things about the job that Robin did for us. She completely transformed the look of our home and the usability of the spaces within it. I would give Robin my highest recommendation because: 1. She has impeccable style and taste. 2. She listened to me and figured out quickly what my taste and budget range were and she was able to lead me toward making decisions that I am 100% happy with. 4. Her contractors are reliable, honest, and do high quality work. 3. She is patient, responsive, creative and fun to do work with. Our project lasted about 9 months. We redid just about every surface in our home -- refinished and installed new wood floors, replaced all of the windows, painted most of the interior including woodwork, painted all of the exterior, purchased furniture, redid the kitchen counters, refaced the fireplace, had carpentry work done and had custom window treatments made.
