Ted and Mary designed and installed new, custom made cabinets in my kitchen. They completed the project in the stated timeframe and at the quoted price. They were a joy to work with and I couldn’t be happier. I will use them again.

Having never worked with a design firm before, we were excited but a little nervous. I can say without reservation that Mary and her staff not only exceeded all of our expectations, she did it with professionalism, quality vendors whose workmanship was of the highest level, on time and well within our budget. Our kitchen cabinets got a unique facelift, our bathroom counters and shower were redone, she helped us with window treatments and general design assistance. The result is just what we wanted; a home that is cohesive in design, reflects our taste and is simply a beautiful place to live.

Moving from a condo to a new home, I had no idea what to do with my fairly new furniture. I hired Mary to consult and help with the move. She was always on time, had excellent ideas and we used all but one item in our new home. She helped with colors and décor, always keeping my ideas in mind. I trust her opinion and will gladly call her again.

We bought a home that needed updating in every room. Mary and her team were professional, listened to our needs, visited our old home to get a feel for our style and helped us through the whole process.. To keep costs reasonable we decided to re finish the wood cabinets in the kitchen and update the rest.. Mary found the re finisher, helped us select the granite counter tops, and back splash and cabinet color. Mary has a group of professional contractors who did a wonderful job. From the tile person, to the painters, to the plumbers and electricians, everyone did an outstanding job and were very accommodating whenever we changed our minds or needed advice. Ion Design worked with us on every facet of the updating, including scheduling and coordination.. My husband had a special requirement; a train room. Mary found a muralist to paint clouds on the walls and had a platform built to that the room was ready for the train layout. And once we moved in Ion Design staged our home with our existing furniture. I would, (and have already) recommend Ion Design to anyone whether a small or large project.

I purchased a 30 year old 2 bedroom villa in Bradenton. It was such a pleasure working with Mary and her professional team of experts to completely renovate my villa. Mary's flooring professional installed tile in the glass enclosed lanai. After ripping up the carpet through out the villa, plank wire brushed wood flooring was installed. I have received numerous compliments on the color and selection Mary suggested for a coastal look. Her painter and his team painted the entire villa with a variety of beautiful colors that Mary help me select. Pop corn ceilings were knocked down and repainted. New granite and quartz counter tops were installed in bathroom and kitchen along with new sinks. Mary's plumber was excellent installing the faucets for the bath and kitchen sink. The appliance company Mary suggested worked with me to get exactly the type of appliances I needed for my new updated kitchen. The tile and wood flooring professional returned to install glass tile back splash and again, I am so very pleased with the selection Mary suggested. I had closed on my villa mid January and was moved in my mid February. Mary's teams work very well with each other and the professional demeanor of each trade is an asset to Mary and her customers. I highly recommend Mary, she is a designer and contractor and is always visiting the job site, keeps on top of all her subcontractors, and always in contact with her customer (me) with ideas and suggestions.

Mary Milburn and IonDesign was a joy to work with, and we are ecstatic with the results. Mary took the time to understand our style, goals and budget. She helped us enhance existing rooms suggesting small changes that had tremendous results in really tying together a finished look as well as completely redecorating our main family room. She worked with a challenging space that had a spiral stair case and found a manufacturer that designs full sized living room furniture to fit through small spaces and suggested colors and accents to create the coastal look we really desired for our beach house. Through her careful eye of color, fabrics and textures, she exceeded our expectations. Mary worked with both our existing furniture helping us select new fabrics as well as purchasing new carpets and art to create a casual, clean look. After a year struggling with how to create the look we desired, our only question is why it took us so long to find Mary. We are so glad that we did!

I will never do a major house redecoration without Mary's help. She has a wonderful eye for color, listens to what you like and never pushes you to choose something you don't like. She also saved me a lot of money by helping me pick the right colors the first time, selling me a high quality couch that was used to stage multi-million dollar houses at a very discounted price and re-purposing furniture I already had in the house. Mary is a great asset and will end up saving you money by not having to redo projects and by finding subcontractors who are reliable and reasonable.

This is the third remodel we have done to properties in Florida and it is the ONLY one that made me smile from start to finish! Mary is extraordinary in manner, professionalism and reliability. She listens to you and just seems to absorb how you want the project to go, your tastes, the quality you want and how much you are comfortable spending. She then works in a very timely manner gathering ideas, samples and materials so that you are not overwhelmed but also don't feel pushed or manipulated into something you aren't comfortable with. After the decisions are made Mary gives you a timeline for how the work is to be completed, and the work is ACTUALLY COMPLETED within that time frame. WOW! (That has never happened to me before in Florida) At the end of the project everything is cleaned up, straightened up and checked to see that it meets her approval. Then she asks that you make a list of anything she might have missed. If you find something, it is actually taken care of post haste. HOORAY! I could go on and on but will just say that even though it sounds impossible, Mary makes a remodel an enjoyable experience. Give her a call.

Mary Milburn is down to earth, highly skilled in her design expertise, an excellent listener, works within budgets and focuses on what you want-- very customer oriented. I was able to utilize her services on an hourly basis which is just what I wanted to make my FL condo come to life. I am following her suggestions and am thrilled with the results. Every single element of the kitchen coordinates perfectly, and I just had to find the designer who did it. Well done Ms. Milburn!

I first contacted Mary Milburn about four years ago to help me select wall colors for a second home. This soon morphed into her helping me decorate the home. Two years later she led the master bathroom remodel and currently is working with me as we build a new home. Mary is a delight to work with: she is timely, intuitive and creative. She pulls from many vendors and puts a top notch team together to get the job done. Mary is able to zero in on her client's current vision and work to make it a reality.
