We worked with Mark on our first home project. Not only did he design the space in a way we never imagined, he was incredibly easy to work with. We required little back and forth on the design as Mark understood what we were looking for from the very beginning. We love the end result, he made our house feel like a home. We can't wait to work with him on our next project.

Working with Mark, who both designed and project managed our renovation, was everything I could have hoped for! From a design perspective, it was a constant conversation; Mark seamlessly took our ideas and translated them into tangible action. He brought multiple options to the table regularly, guiding us throughout the entire process. He pushed us forward outside of our comfort zone with a few ideas/choices in *the* best way possible and we are thrilled with the end result. Mark managed my bathroom remodel. This was my first major remodel and I was looking for someone to help guide me through the many options and choices that are out there. Mark listened to my needs and talked me through options that met my needs, but were realistic for my budget and space. Overall, I'm very thankful for his help, and would choose him again for any of my future design needs.

They say there’s no place like home but designing your home can be stressful even in the best of times; choosing furniture, fabrics, lighting and flooring can be overwhelming. Mark Shubert of Phillip Harrison was a collaborative partner throughout the process. Mark is resourceful and practical - always keeping in mind how the room will function. His team of electricians, flooring installers and painters were professional, on time and on budget. There were lots of decisions to be made along the way - his suggestions of color, texture and furniture placement made my space warm and inviting. Mark’s spatial awareness, his ability to source materials, his attention to detail, his creativity from start to finish made him a pleasure to partner with in making my house my home.

We absolutely loved working with Mark! He helped us furnish and decorate many rooms in our new construction home - two offices, living room, dining room, kitchen nook, basement family room, and primary bedroom. With an open first floor, it was important to us that each room felt different but all design aspects flowed well together. Mark did a wonderful job taking elements from each space and making it feel cohesive. Our favorite rooms were our offices. Mark listened to what my husband and I wanted and completely nailed it! Each office perfectly shows off our individual design flare. Overall, we worked very well with Mark. Communication was 10/10 and being that this was the first time we had designed a home, we truly felt like our ideas/visions/concerns were being accounted for. Mark really listened to our design inspiration and seamlessly incorporated our wants into each room. He helped us turn our house into a home and we could not be happier with the final result!

I worked with Mark on the renovation of our primary bathroom. Going into this project, we had a tight timeline to finish the work before the due date of our baby and Mark was confident we could do that, which he made happen! What I most valued in addition to his expertise in design was his project management. He told us at the start of the project that if anything were to go wrong, he would first try to come with possible solutions before just saying there’s a problem. This was true one day when our original scheduled contractor had to back out — Mark immediately found another trusted contractor that he worked with in the past that was ready to start next week and keep our timeline on track. We were so happy with our finished project, it was a great blend of key elements I knew I wanted (like a specific tile) and pieces he sourced to help everything come together. I should also mention he’s a pleasure to work with and made the whole experience fun. Thank you, Mark!!

At the beginning of 2020, we really felt that our house needed an interior upgrade. We had ideas but were sure how to bring it all together. We looked at several designers and found PH’s portfolio online. Their aesthetics immediately resonated with us and we reached out. Mark was extremely attentive, and quickly grasped the style we were going for - bold and colorful yet classic in foundation. We decided on living, dining, kitchen and the master bedroom as the first rooms to get upgraded. He gave us a lot of time to think thru choices yet moved us along. To me the best part was PH’s ability to bring their vision to life piece by piece through all the pandemic delays and kept their cool through unexpected cancellations etc. and both Mark and Mike were so amazing to work with. In the end, as the pieces came together their styling of our home really was the cherry on top. Our home looks it’s right out of a interior design magazine spread and we love the time we spend in it. I can’t wait to start our next project with them!

Mark Schubert successfully designed the perfect kitchen, updated my homes paint color and created a home gym for us. He really listened to what we wanted and made helpful suggestions to keep the price from escalating out of our budget. While I am not particularly savvy on the ways and lingo of decorating he was patient and worked to understand what we wanted and what would make us happy. We are so pleased with our home. Mark was always responsive to emails and phone calls and completed the work within the time frame promised. We had an excellent experience with him.

We interviewed four interior designers to renovate and update our small townhouse. Since our budget was tight, we made a list of priorities. Mark of PH assured us they work on small projects. Walking from room to room he was professional, organized, shared a wealth of knowledge and experience in design options, had extensive connections in the field, and was excited by the challenge to deliver the best design plan for our budget. We hired Mark finding him to be honest, talented, and passionate about his work. He prepared a detailed, design plan that represented our interests and his creativity with specific recommendations for each room, including vendors, contractors, estimates, photos, and more. He communicates with the contractors checking every step of the way to ensure the work is done correctly. He has an eye for detail and sets high standards which he achieves sometimes by looking at items creatively as works of art. Initially we couldn’t fully appreciate the style he drafted for the bathroom but now, finished, is the most complemented room in the house. Thank goodness Mark successfully guided two hesitant souls that could never have accomplished the same beautiful results as aesthetically, cost-effectively, and timely as he did. He transformed our house from a dark, cluttered, tired interior to a much brighter, more contemporary home, that feels more spacious and is comfortable to live in. We are very happy with the results and highly recommend Mark.

We used Phillip Harrison to help us get settled in our new home in Brookfield, IL. Mark listened, got our style and budget, and made wonderful recommendations for a sophisticated, kid-friendly home. When we had to unexpectedly sell a year later, our house sold in two days for asking price which was well over what we had paid just 18 months earlier. I have no doubt this was because of our work with Mark. We are even planning to use Phillip Harrison with at least one room in our new house virtually because we have so much trust in his work.

Mark is fantastic. He is patient with his explanations and quick to warn against ideas that won't work well, irrespective of how excited we might be about them. This is critical when you don't have the expertise yourself and have to hire it instead. He's not a "yes" man, otherwise we'd have ended up with an incoherent mix of clashing styles. He knows what looks good and ensures he balances our preferences with what works well across an entire space. Mark is also great at managing us, another critical characteristic given our work commitments. He's persistent while being professional, which ensures progress. He has a wealth of knowledge, not just in the realm of decorating, but also about the building trades that are needed to create a beautiful project. He vets and oversees contractors thoroughly, monitoring their work to completion. Working with Mark, the principal of Phillip Harrison, has truly been a great experience. My wife and I were looking for a design professional for various projects updating our current home and that's when we found Mark. From the initial consultation to final project closeout has been seamless, and he did a great job in guiding us throughout the process. Our design aesthetics meshed very well, and he took the time to listen to what our vision was and presented us with multiple options, whether we were doing major work such as redoing the kitchen, or simply replacing the curtains. Even if it was on a weekend or after work, my wife and I always appreciated that Mark would make himself available to visit with us whenever a large design decision needed to be made whether it was at our home or a vendor's showroom. We LOVE our space! From start to finish - Mark did an amazing job. We hired Mark to design the first floor of our new home. Mark did a great job listening to my family's needs when redecorating our bedrooms. He spent some time getting know us and understanding how we use each room. He chose pieces that would be comfortable and fun and he stayed within budget. Mark also helped us review our current library of art work to select pieces that work in each room that he redesigned.
